I feel quite strong about this issue, because it's not just campers, there's a lot of videos about people feeding foxes from home, and they are incredibly proud of themselves 🤷🤦 I also see people feeding sea birds with LOAVES of white bread! What is wrong? Is it education or selfishness? Because I feel like we were educated in the 80s. 😢
I partly understand it in urban environments where the foxes are eating from bins and rubbish already. Better for the foxes health to feed it proper food. But definitely not a good idea in rural areas where the fox should be hunting.

It looks like you'e just used one elastic loop to attach it to the shoulder strap, I've been wondering how best to do it.
A bit of shock cord is all you need. It was great until it got windy and then it was inside out 😂
Not fox but once when we were hiking and camping mouse stole our whole washing sponge 😅 it was the funniest thing, we heard it at night and in the morning found these little yellow bits around my rucksack, not many though…I was scared it bit through the rucksacks but they were fine and than after breakfast we wanted to give a rinse to our dishes and we could not find the sponge anywhere…had a big argue with my partner about who put it where and who’s fault it is 😂 when I remembered the bits and the mouse at night and we just realised she stole our entire sponge….we like to think she made her bed out of it 😅
Umbrella is a part of my kit if it will rain. Even if it’s to just take a rest and keep the rain off you while snacking.
I was betting on it being Gary who stole the meatballs, somehow. But a giant jay is cool, too, I suppose. But seriously, I bet you can come up with some interesting things to do with the game cam.
Think I’ll take it camping from now on
A fox ran off with my gloves once ,
I was hand feeding it took my gloves off to open something and fox picked them up ran off .
Foxes are cool
Will have to show you the spot the backpack was eaten . Not far from there . 👌
Nom nom
I despised you as soon as I saw the umbrella. Which one is it ? ☔🤣
It’s just a normal umbrella, nothing special. Which might explain why the first gust of wind turned it inside out 😂
Not what I was looking
For but…… tight!
😁
I feel quite strong about this issue, because it's not just campers, there's a lot of videos about people feeding foxes from home, and they are incredibly proud of themselves 🤷🤦
I also see people feeding sea birds with LOAVES of white bread!

Hi Stephen, yes it was someone in rural Ireland I was thinking of, my mum 😞 she's in her 70s 🤷
I have just watched your video about question and answers and you say you don't watch many videos about outdoor activities because it's what you do....well, some of us are watching you because you are doing something different to us, and we are secretly pining for more of the outdoors ourselves. Any interest in doing a video for utter beginners?🥺
But thanks for the videos you have done, I live quite close to some of the places and you've given me the opening I needed. 👍
Do you mean like a “how to make UA-cam videos” type thing? I’ve thought about doing some kind of course a few times but it’s a huge amount of work to put together.
@@StephenJReid Hi, sorry I was watching the football!
I mean outdoors, for beginners. Even basic stuff.
I love being outdoors, but you go to some amazing places that seem really remote, do you always get mobile phone coverage? What if something happens?
I know if you are at sea you can call the coastguard and tell them when to expect you back.....is there a version for where you go?
I have recently been diagnosed with arthritis and there's something about when a physiotherapist asks the question "has your knee given way yet?" It makes you grow up a little....and terrified every time you are at the top of a flight of stairs 😬
Really loving your videos btw.
@@Jeff-q4u hmmm hadn’t even thought about that. Hmmm I’ll think about it! Regards phone coverage, I often have it when I’m camping but not always. When I don’t have it I carrying a satellite communicator that would allow me to message or request help if I needed it.
Hope your knees hold out!
My bad....we don't use pre made burgers....so to me, it's just meat I guess 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Also used to cut meat...part the reason we use a butcher over supermarket meat.
Ah. I sometimes make my own plain burgers too, actually made my own burger press when I was 15😂 hard to beat quality ground beef and a bit of salt and pepper.
What kind of frying pan are you using? Asking for a fox... and myself. 😊
GSI Outdoors Gourmet 8 Inch Frypan
Fox stole my frying pan and food in mournes! Wonder was it the same little guy? Lol
@@eastbelfastno1 😂 similar location? Annalong valley?
Out foxed again,take a break now 😊
🙈
soooo I guess the last time you got your pan stolen and licked clean it was that same jay?
Haha, naw I still think that was a fox
@@StephenJReid come to think of it, it happened to me too, about 10 years back in france?! Nearly lost the backpack (car keys phone pasport money) sneaky voxes yeah..
What preservatives would be in burger vs chicken? You've lost me on that note..
Burgers typically contain a mix that’s added when they are being made. Can include some meal, but also binders and preservatives even if just salt . Just check the ingredients. I was a butcher for 4years. Very few burgers will just be meat and nothing else.
Accusing the fox of stealing when all he did was borrow and clean it, 🤔
😂 did me a service
You men revenge not vengeance.
You men mean?
🤣
My mother curses the jays because they terrify the small birds. There's a reason foxes are called cunning. Annoying that it's wrecking gear
Don't burn yourself out for likes though
Didn't realise Jays terrorised small birds
@StephenJReid I don't know whether it's just because they're bigger but the finches etc scatter from the feeders as though it's a hawk
I was waiting on this vid fox hunt with night vision gear etc lol Your garantied foxes at the bottom of Ben crom resviour. Little feckers chewed through my rucksack strap and stole my bivvy bag and eat 2 days of food. Seen a few foxes within a hounds gowel off were u were at, the same spot were a midge to far was filmed
U need to be cooking spicy chicken fillets gets the little feckers dropping in. I've been within kicking distance, little fecker side steped me lol. It's a hard life in the mournes lol just leave my rucksack alone FFS ha ha ha. How about u make a vid about the top 10 posinious plants some of witch live in Norn Iron and u probs like myself been pushing outta the way to get into the water. Please do not lick r eat any for the craic. Your vid on Lough Neagh I was screaming at the TV don't lick the aligie ffs. U should be on TV BBC. Maybe think about a series u could sell to the BBC.
