If you shine light at the small box connected to the machine text says "TYPE B410 - 61 COMPANY PROPERTY" I think when you gather all the parts and power the bomb, drill, laser you type that into the terminal back on the ship to activate it. The wire connecting to it is currently severed so it wont work until they add something to fix it.
Maybe that object was meant to try and kill the creature, but something went wrong before they could use it, and as an ending to the game you need to figure out how to repair it and activate it? Similar to how Minecraft the ender dragon death is a way to beat the game but doesn't matter too much to actual game play.

I don't think one of the theories where we are remaining humanity left makes sense due to how easy they get rid of employees. If we were one of the last humans it would be such a waste to kill off us. That would endanger humanity even more so naturally we would focus a lot more on survivability and not how the company operates.
What if eldredge horror is embodiment of greed, and solid building is more of a cage, the area where they leave items for gold is actually same as those little hatches for prisoners food that embodiment of greed uses, and lethal company keeps it feed to prevent greed wanting to try and excape as secondary prevention measure beyond the physical barrier?

You're right, this heavily leans it in favor of it being a b41 nuke.

Me and my buddy thought so too, we bought a couple down but couldn’t fit them anywhere p; hopefully they add some functionality to it one dau
Sadly currently does nothing tried it and lost 2 actuators because you can't bring them back up once you take them down
