Actually he was the best actor in the story of Kunning palace, even though he had a small role. Zhang Linghe is eye candy, but his acting depth isn't that great. Bailu is better but a lot of her movements seem to be exaggerated and unnatural. I don't know if this is an actor or director issue that they have to see the costumes and hair laid out neatly. If people are in freezing water, why are their clothes dry when they get out and they are not shivering?
This is only the first episode and I am captivated. My heart is broken, the guy who plays Duke Su has visuals like a greek god, the switch is a stroke of genius, the angst and tragedy is already so immense I don't know how to mentally prepare for what's to come in the next 39 episodes!

The story is good and refreshing you will not get bored .every character will make you feel their story and characters . Not just the male leads but side character's relationship were also emphasized.They showed a deep friendship between emperor and duke su , the way Jiang jingrui and ye shijie and others relationship are beautifully described here.The guards of duke su never disappointed the audience in any scene.Each and every character were finely represented.I loved it and enjoyed watching it😊😊😊❤

I am here after completing all the 40+short epilogue episodes. Just want to let the future viewers know that it is a superb show. You won't regret watching it. I did not skip even a bit of the show, it was that good. Wang Xingyue has my heart ❤ I noticed him for the first time in Story of Kunning Palace where surprisingly, I liked him much more than the ml. At that time I had hoped for Xingyue to get a lead role and he really did not disappoint as Duke Su. Xingyue has now become my fav chinese male actor besides Xiao Zhan and Luo Yunxi. He is a solid actor so much better than the overhyped ones. Wu Jinyan is also excellent in her acting. She is just so breathtaking in each shot that whenever she was onscreen I couldn't look away 😂 Both of them are amazing actors and their chemistry is mind blowing 🔥🔥🔥. Definitely one of the best chinese drama couples for me. And not just the leads, but every other actor did their job well. I have also become a fan of the actor playing Fangfei's husband. I hope he gets a lead role in future as I loved his acting. He definitely has all the potential of a male lead. Despite his character killing his wife, I felt pity for him in some scenes due to his terrific acting. Also, the actress playing Princess Wanning, did a tremendous job. The Asian film industry makes sure they have cosmetically enhanced lookalikes ready to take on ml roles when popular actors and actresses get too popular and demand more money. Zhao Lusi now just looks like the other Barbies probably wanted to step away from the baby-faced giggly roles that has been her main image. But she showed her acting ability was wider than just a clown in Love Like the Galaxy. Maybe, just maybe, she may take on more mature and complex characters. So many Asian actors and actresses seem just to disappear after a certain age.

Oh my god I just finished this. The budget is insane, you can tell this is a beautifully and carefully written drama. The plot, the acting, the editing and cinematography, the OST, the costumes and set are top all notch. The best Cdrama I've seen yet!🔥
I loved this drama overall. Loved best the couple’s chemistry. There is no nonsense , and the communication of the words not said, but each knows the other’s intentions without speaking them out loud, by a smile or a glance it’s hold the viewer enthralled… both of them have really got into their characters well. My only complaint is “ why on earth they killed of his two men and her companion?!! There was absolutely no need for it. The last episode was the pits! If I was the director I would have made a change right there, and kept the side kicks alive, both the men and the lady companion. It’s a must watch though.

Definitely a must-watch drama. The leads are on fire - so much chemistry, character, and foxiness from both of them. Delicious lines, yummy plot. Mind you, romance is not at the centre of this revenge series, but it's done very intricately and delicately, and it's very believable. The murderous ex-husband also delivers a stellar performance - you can really see how conflicted he is about what he did, but he still goes far beyond redemption with the evil princess. All the side characters play well, and the plot is very entertaining. Visually, it's a masterpiece - I love the colors and close-ups that really make the viewing experience more intimate. I've never seen such a filming style before, it's quite refreshing, and overall the beauty and esthetic levels are high in this one.

Oh my god I just finished this. The budget is insane, you can tell this is a beautifully and carefully written drama. The plot, the acting, the editing and cinematography, the OST, the costumes and set are top all notch. The best Cdrama I've seen yet!🔥
Actually the budget wasn't as big as you think, didn't even have lots of publicity but as soon as it aired, it became the biggest blockbuster 🎉😊
I loved this drama overall. Loved best the couple’s chemistry. There is no nonsense , and the communication of the words not said, but each knows the other’s intentions without speaking them out loud, by a smile or a glance it’s hold the viewer enthralled… both of them have really got into their characters well. My only complaint is “ why on earth they killed of his two men and her companion?!! There was absolutely no need for it. The last episode was the pits! If I was the director I would have made a change right there, and kept the side kicks alive, both the men and the lady companion. It’s a must watch though.
I can't believe those people actually believed a ten year old would do that? Especially since it seems they had a good relationship. And those people actually thought someone would survive a beating like that? I thought one person gets one strike but they were going all in and actually expected her to live?!
And that Eldest princess is crazy, but it's interesting to see a princess with so much power, when it comes to royal women it's usually the empress, empress dowager or consorts, rarely a princess.

My favorite c drama. I finished it in 2 days. This channel made me watch it till episode 22 . Then i had to pay to watch remaining episodes. And its first time i didn't get bore after watching 40 episodes. In general whether kdrama or c drama watching 10 episodes in a trot is difficult for me. Here i just forgot my sleep. So good . Love ML, FL even supporting casts ❤❤❤

I never thought first episode of a drama can make me tear up to the point I cried a bit. I rarely cry when watching. The death of the girl at the end was just so emotionally painful.

Definitely a must-watch drama. The leads are on fire - so much chemistry, character, and foxiness from both of them. Delicious lines, yummy plot. Mind you, romance is not at the centre of this revenge series, but it's done very intricately and delicately, and it's very believable. The murderous ex-husband also delivers a stellar performance - you can really see how conflicted he is about what he did, but he still goes far beyond redemption with the evil princess.
All the side characters play well, and the plot is very entertaining. Visually, it's a masterpiece - I love the colors and close-ups that really make the viewing experience more intimate. I've never seen such a filming style before, it's quite refreshing, and overall the beauty and esthetic levels are high in this one.
This is the plot I was looking for. Come on, great start!
