Hi Gabriel, I owe you a debt for helping me learn french with your Anki advice. I bought your book in 2017 and it totally gave me the confidence to learn the language. Unlike others, you gave me a real "system" that I could count on every day. It really empowered me and though I'm not perfect (far from it), I now have a bilingual job (french/english) and also passed several exams (DELF B2 and DALF C1). Additionally, I will be writing my thesis using mostly French sources and hope to move to Quebec. Thanks, best of luck with the app.
Hey all. Just curious how close you are to releasing Japanese on the app. I was considering purchasing your Anki resources, but would rather invest my money/time in the app if it is coming soon.
Apart from becoming fluent, i sometimes worried of what others would think that, if i make mistake while speaking and I'm struggling to change my mind set and thought as a native speaker!! Pls help me anyone, need a solution!!!
I've been doing Duolingo for over two years now and I'm really frustrated by the emphasis on perfect spelling and grammar. I find the punitive nature of the point system and reminders of elementary concepts that pop up any time the crime of an innocent typo is committed intolerable. I really want to learn other languages, but this is seriously killing the joy for me. What kind of reward/punishment system does Fluent Forever employ? I've been attempting to learn Russian, Spanish and French and re-learn German (haven't practiced since high school) and have pretty much stalled out on all four on account of the aforementioned issues. If I were to sign up with Fluent Forever (or even do the free trial), would I be limited to only one language at a time, or can I do multiple languages at a time? Also, Fluent Forever appears to be available only as a cellphone app at this point. I would much prefer to use a tablet or desktop computer. Is there a way to get a notification for when Fluent Forever is available for tablet or desktop computers? Thanks for any clarification!
Hi there! We Are looking into the option of offering the app on tablets/iPads but we are not quite there yet. When we fo we will make sure to let everyone know 😊
Great question! Our subscriptions are for single language use. You will have the option to switch languages after 5 months should you choose to study another. Thai and Vietnamese will like my become part of our Learn any Language feature. This is a tool that will be designed to provide resources for languages not included in the app. 😊
There seems to be very limited reviews, on UA-cam, and I have yet to see a clear information "blurb" about this App. Is it still in beta? What platforms does it work on? Does this App only work on smartphones or tablets? I bought and read the book and found it to be very good.
Unfortunately, unlike Anki, the Fluent-Forever App (currently) only works in iOS/Android, which is a major limitation Imho. Hopefully, they'll make an effort to widen the platform & sync options soon. Thou it doesn't seem to be a priority for them.
Hi Paul! We are happy to help with the information. The app is officially released and out of beta since April 2019. It currently supports smartphones only, running on Android 7 or newer and iOS 10 or newer. Full tablet support is definitely on our radar, and we will also be looking into the possibility to provide a desktop/web-based version in the future.
Hello Rick, it is true that for now, we are focused solely on smartphones. We will, however, be looking into adding support for tablets, then computers later on.
I am so excited to get my hands on this app officially but I am waiting for Japanese to be complete. I plan on moving to Japan as a teaching assistant and really want to learn as much as I can before I go. I have purchased the anki material but anki is NOT the easiest thing to use in the world. Hopefully Japanese will finish before the end of the year!
Hi there, we have no current information on that. First, it is necessary to make everything work great on mobile phones, and then it will be the time to start looking into supporting tablets.
Unlike most of their major competitors, such as Bussu, the Fluent Forever App subscription only enables access to one language. It's also not clear who owns your progress data. Plus, what happens to all your curated images (& other work) if/when your sub elapses, for example.
Hello Rick, Unlike other language learning platforms, we do not explicitly advocate for learning multiple languages simultaneously. We try to be as transparent as possible, and while some are able to take this on, many are not and it ultimately discourages them from continuing with any language at all. Hi Ahmed, Unfortunately, at the moment, all the information and content related to our app are only available in English. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
No, the App is quite expensive when compared to most other (similar) options. Also, you need one subscription per language, which can multiply the cost. And there's no Lifetime (un-expiring), option - unfortunately.
Hi Yulieth, Unfortunately, requesting payment information is a requirement of the app stores in order for us to have our app in them. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Your app does not work on my not-that-old-and-not-that-bad phone. With that much Kickstarter money, you could have bothered to provide your service as an app accessible on a desktop computer, via a web browser. Well, at least now we know thanks to whom silicon and other rare metals are being depleted rapidly.
Hello Boris, support for tablets and then computer will be coming as a part of our plans. We apologize that your device may not be compatible currently, but as we continue to make improvements in the application, we test them and our minimum requirements for OS are the best options that can run the app without any issues.
