      Monte had to take hits to make plays. I remember when Golden State Warriors fans were hopping mad back in 2012 when Larry Riley traded fan favorite Monta' Ellis for a banged up Andrew Bogut to fill a huge need in the interior.
      Bogut paid dividends for the Dubs between 2013 and 2016.

    There was a point during the 1st game with Sabonis where Harrison was talking to Fox and smiled like we'd never seen before. Says a lot about how the team's feeling right now.

      Agree it will help both. We weren't going anywhere with Haliburton and fox being our two best players. Haliburton is going to be great, but sabonis fits with fox and is easier to build around. Love what the kings are doing and pacers have a very accelerated rebuild.

    one thing that really sits wrong with me about mcnair is the fact that not once have i heard "championship" come out of his mouth. the goal here should be to establish a CHAMPIONSHIP caliber team, not just making playoffs.. this organization will never be anything until it has a competent ownership who can hire a MOTIVATED gm and coaching staff.

  • @gregoryleggett9773
    @gregoryleggett9773 2 роки тому

    As a lifelong Pacers fan going back to their ABA days, I can tell you that until the Pacers get some ownership that really wants to win, they'll always be a 42-42 team regardless of who they trade for. And trust me, Haliburton, who is an outstanding player, will want out of Indiana at some point, just like Paul George and Victor Olapido. It's a dead end franchise, and players know it.

      @@YoBrand15 The questions at 16:46 and 17:53 are good though. Did De'Aaron want to play with Sabonis? Was Haliburton always available? Fox not playing because of his "ankle" and then he plays the day Tyrese is traded? Just weird stuff all around.

    • @YoBrand15
      @YoBrand15 2 роки тому

      @@DennisNedryisStillAlive yeah but they are still dumb questions. No gm in the history of the nba will admit a player had a say in a trade (unless you're a superstar line lebron or something). I thought monte did a great job deflecting questions he knew he couldn't fully answer. Also I really don't think they planned on trading Haliburton. He was a fan favorite. Bht it was obvious the fit wouldn't work AND sabonis is a guy they wanted. Foxs contract wouldn't work in the trade, so they used hields contract and had to give up hali to make it worth it for the pacers

    • @DennisNedryisStillAlive
      @DennisNedryisStillAlive 2 роки тому

      @@YoBrand15 Yeah Monte would never admit to De'Aaron asking for a trade. I guess as fans we can just speculate. Haliburton for Sabonis seems fair, I just worry that Haliburton will have more long-term potential. I could see him easily being an all-star in 2-3 years in the East.

    • @YoBrand15
      @YoBrand15 2 роки тому +1

      @@DennisNedryisStillAlive he foes have more long term potential. But my point is fox for ssbonis could not work. It was impossible. Im sure monte wanted to do that. But salary wise and because Indiana is rebuilding it wasn't going to work. So we accomplished two goals: got a 2x all star and unloaded hields contract. And we didn't have to give up picks. Haliburton has a ton of potential, but fox just didn't have a role next to him and because of thst fox had no real value in a trade. So monte took a swing and gave up Haliburton. For ehst its worth, I thibk Haliburton will be an all star. However, I dont see him becoming a guy thst can tske over a game. I see fox as that guy. Haliburton could end up being the best facilitator in the league and probably the second best player on a very good team. I think the risk is worth it here.
