I think it’s safe to say that De’Aaron definitely had something to do with Tyrese getting traded. Fox has been our guy though and we needed to do something to help him be successful here in Sac.
I think Fox was offered, but the Pacers didn’t want his max contract during a rebuild. Halliburton was Monte’s first draft pick (and successful), so it must’ve been hard to part with him.
As a lifelong Pacers fan going back to their ABA days, I can tell you that until the Pacers get some ownership that really wants to win, they'll always be a 42-42 team regardless of who they trade for. And trust me, Haliburton, who is an outstanding player, will want out of Indiana at some point, just like Paul George and Victor Olapido. It's a dead end franchise, and players know it.
