This is, by far, the best tutorial for this seat. The worst part is I had to watch like 5 bad ones for yt to suggest this one. For some reason it didn't come up in my initial search.. Thank you! With the virus, finding face to face help has proven almost impossible, so having to install myself has been nerve wracking. This video helped me tremendously.
Thank you so much for such a thorough video! You covered all the questions I had after reading the manual. We bought this car seat so we can use it for our grandson & we found the manual was somewhat confusing. Your video clearly explained everything we needed to know down to the cup holders.
My "babies" are 43 and 36 ... so i have no memory of doing any of this!!! Just bought this car seat for carrying my 17 month old grandson so that the "kids" don't have to move seat from one car to the other. :D This video was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you so much.
Thank youuu!!!! I have the Graco Triride 3 in 1 car seat. I was looking at the manual WHILE watching the company installation videos for a quick install (baby hates her infant C Car seat ) and it was not until i saw YOUR video that i was abt to install it. Thank you for this video!
Read both the manufacturer's and the car manual. Confused and lacked details or too many details in one diagram. I didn't get it! Watched this video and "One-To-Three" Thank you Danny!!
just so you know, if you use the car seat belt on the rearfacing, you are supposed to "store" the latch system in the forward facing placement which is higher on the back and stored around on the latches on back.
@Tristen Krakie I dont know if this answers your question without re-watching the video to make sure what I was referencing, but in the manual, page 32/33 and page 42 (shows the storage of the belt using the orange path, and the clip for the top tether) shows the storage of the latch system
@David Taylor both are secure and safety tested for this carseat. You can check your owners manual of you car for what they recommend as the safest option, and sometimes offer guidance to the safest seat placement. But, graco safety certified both the latch and the seat belt. I personally feel I get a tighter instalation with less movement when I use the latch but my car may be different
Important note: always read the manual even after watching instructional UA-cam videos. Wanted to point out that according to the manual, if you're using the seat belt for rear facing, you need to move the latch strap up and through the slots for face forward. I assume they do not want the seat beat to go over the latch strap in the rear facing slot. There's a place to hook the latch straps in the back.
Thank you SO very much! As a visual learner this made understanding the manual so much easier. Thanks for taking the time to make this video! God Bless!
Thanks for this! I couldn’t figure out the correlation of the recline to the bubble level 😂 Now I got it set correctly! I used the handle of a hammer to pull the anchor belt as tight as I could. I’m in an Impala and trying to get in the car with the car seat and pull that strap was a pain! Also lucky you for having easy access anchor point in your car 😄 Mine are buried in the cushion 😩
You can’t use any tools to help tighten the latch system. This could make the latch over tightened which will cause the seat to not function correctly in a crash.
I don’t like the fact that head rest has no anchor .. Grab the top and pull it back towards the window ...just seems like there should be something that attaches to me since your already pulling the seat forward with the straps at the front .. My daughter has one and we were just out installing it .. I do like the fancy clips they have nowa days that’s pretty cool 👍🏻 And also they should of gave ya a little more belt because like you said you can’t tighten it from an angle and they don’t give you much room to pull straight up I think some women might struggle a little bit ... Baby fits good in the seat for sure packed in like a little sausage lol Good tip on laying something down ! Yours has a nice flat seat probably a little more stable... I remember back in the day loading up the car with 3 car seats what fun!! 😂 Thanks for the vid definitely gives insight!
wow man thank you this video was very to the point and informal, and so to the point i was able to skip right to the part i needed without any real help of time stamps! very well put together very helpful, i only needed about 10 sec of the video, but i let it play threw just to help ya out ty ty ty ty ty
Thank you, Thank you! ♥️♥️♥️ My father showed me how to do it when I was pregnant, but I forgot some of the steps lol so when I had to do myself, this was extremely helpful.
Same issue, depending on the angle of your seat nothing is stopping that from occurring and once that process starts the securing mechanism loses all tension. We used the front facing anchoring system to secure the rear of the seat to metal clips attached to the passengers seat, seems like a really faulty design.
Ugh, I still don’t get it. Tried both the latch and the seat belt method but either way, I can slide it around when I pull from the top. Are you using a lot of force when you test wiggle it? Can you use the front seat to stabilize it?
I feel the anchors from the car seat to the car are better than the regular seat belt with the shoulder strap. If it’s only the lap belt on the car it might be about the same as the anchors, but that’s just my opinion
So question!! In my car I only have the anchors behind the passenger and behind the driver the middle does NOT have the anchors. Could I still put the car seat in the middle with the seatbelt!!??
Right up against the seat between where the child’s feet would be there is a pull strap that tightens the shoulder straps. If you put your thumb right there you will feel a small button you press on where that strap goes into the car seat. Push it and it releases
What brand is the anchoring belt that you use, please? Does it come with the car seat? I am looking at the Graco all in one slim fit and see a couple of people install it using this belt.
Everything shown in this video was included with the car seat from Graco. I would imagine all of their seats should come with what you need to anchor it as far as straps
how to make sure the bubble is in the blue line while in position number one? Or the bubble has to be in the blue line only while installing and later it can change?
We’ve installed it rear facing with the cars safety belt as tightly as possible but it isn’t very secure. If you grab the head rest and pull up the car seat will freely flip up completely, losing all tension, essentially flipping your baby inward toward the car seat. Other car seats we’ve used do not have this issue and nobody seems to talk about it as a safety issue. With the front facing anchoring system we have secured it but it seems ludicrously unsafe if you go by the manual or this video alone. Very faulty design.
Ok, so I’ve done all this and the instructions say I shouldn’t be able to move more than an inch from side to side and front to back and I can’t so that seems correct but the problem is when rear facing this particular car seat which I have the exact same one it wants to pivot quite a lot if you hold the back of the car seat(back rest) while rear facing, you can pivot it at least 8 inches side to side. This does not seem like it should happen but yet how can it not if no belts or anything are holding the backrest in place. You didn’t show this movement area in the video. Please comment if anyone knows.
I would refer to the manufacturer and the manual, but it appears to me that in front facing it has the anchor on the back assuming the front impact would be greatest, so maybe they assume the same and believe the greatest force on rear facing would rely on the main belts (or anchors if using that option) and do not need an additional top tether for the weight of a child in a rear facing seat. Just my thoughts, ask the manufacturer. I only showed what was in the manual and did not put much opinion in the video of course
I’m wondering what to do with the extra strap behind the car seat when they’re in rear facing mode and you’re not using that? It’s just hanging there and seems unsafe as it is
@@kathleencarney7007 when its rear facing and not in use it should be stowed behind the car seat. Mine came with a rubber band around it as I recall. Bunch it up to make sure it can’t come over the top of the car seat or fling around
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage thank you for replying so quickly, so mine is just hanging behind the car seat, I don’t think it can fling to the front, but is there something I can clip it into?
Is it me or does it feel like there should be a way to keep the rear of the car seat more secure? I followed this video to a tea and yet still if you push hard enough on the rear of the car seat it just slides upward and doesn’t seem safe
How do you loosen the shoulder straps without raising the harness? I’m having a hard time believing you can comfortable fit these straps over a new born
There is a button near the belt buckle under the cover so it’s hard to see. When you push it down the shoulder straps can be loosened. There is also a pull tab there to tighten the shoulder straps in the front of the seat at the bottom
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage ok I’ll check for it thanks. We were thinking of returning it because no matter how I play with the seat, the level just seems off. It would appear my infant would have to sit with their feet parallel with the ceiling and head between legs.
I think the strap is taut in my car, but it's still moving around a lot at the base. My wife and I are thinking it's because we don't have the mat that yours does? Have you tried using the seat without the mat to see if it's just as secure? If the mat does make a difference, what mat are you using? Thanks!!

Question: What do you do with the anchor on the back of the carseat when rear facing? Mine is kind of just dangling there. I noticed yours isn't. What can I/should I do?
If the middle seat belt also has the shoulder one and it doesn’t have the lap belt part you can pull to tighten, sometimes you need to pull the belt all the way out until it runs out of belt and then let it retract. As it gets to the end keep feeding it into the retractor until it’s tight. If you can’t get it right make sure to get it right and don’t give up 🙏🏼. www.c-suvs.com/rear_center_seatbelt-4548.html

I know this video is old, but can you do another video about how much room a rear facing seat takes up when installed behind one of the front seats instead of the middle? My wife and I are looking at Yukons/Tahoes and have two kids. One of them is in a rear facing seat that would be behind one of the front seats. I'm curious how much room this leaves in the front seats for an adult up front. Basically......does it put your knees into the dash to have a rear facing child seat behind you. If you get bored and wind up doing the video it would be cool to use a measuring tape to see how much room is "left over" if the child seat is safely installed behind either front seat. It would be cool to compare with a measuring tape the leg room before and after the child seat is installed. People show videos of the child seats installed but not of how much room is left up front. Thank you for all of the cool videos! Love the mix of overhead cam stuff and the Yukon!

What stops the car seat from rocking towards the rear of the car? It seams only the rear portion (by the baby’s feet) is secured
It's wedged between the back and the bottom of the seat of you do it right so there is little room for movement.
Same issue, depending on the angle of your seat nothing is stopping that from occurring and once that process starts the securing mechanism loses all tension. We used the front facing anchoring system to secure the rear of the seat to metal clips attached to the passengers seat, seems like a really faulty design.
Which one would u recommend using? Anchor belt or the seatbelt?
I like the anchor since it’s lower and it seems to be easier to tighten

Get behind it if you can reach your hand Thur the cup holder then pull straight up. That's how I have to tighten it
What’s better ? The seat belt on the car or the latches that the car seat brings ? Sorry new mom here
I feel the anchors from the car seat to the car are better than the regular seat belt with the shoulder strap. If it’s only the lap belt on the car it might be about the same as the anchors, but that’s just my opinion
So question!! In my car I only have the anchors behind the passenger and behind the driver the middle does NOT have the anchors. Could I still put the car seat in the middle with the seatbelt!!??
Yes. Anchors are one form of securing the seat. Car seats are also designed to work without the anchor using the seat belt
Why don’t they want you to use both the anchor and seatbelt?
It can cause stress that can break the seat (apparently)
ThNk you! Very helpful

Thank You

Screaming Yellow 😉
Here are some measurements. It fits well for us with me being 6’ tall ua-cam.com/video/mmIsXA1fXU4/v-deo.html
I tried both ways and I can move mine side to side at least 4 inches both ways, belts as tight as it can go, what’s the fix ?
Put some weight in the seat, maybe even the child, then try pulling straight up on the seat belt as you tighten it
where did you atach the top tether strap too
It’s used for forward facing as far as I found in the instructions. Refer to your owners manual

Is that mat allowed in the manual?
how do you put a rear facing seat in an older pick up truck? Those latches don't work there's no metal hooks.
You will just the seat belt through the back of the car seat, shown at 7 minutes into the video
