- Temple style badanekayi palya is really unique and mouth-watering delicious. This palya needs little more oil than others and has all three tastes in balance. Hot steamed rice pairing with badanekayi palya is a scrumptious meal on any day.

Good. But do u call it in Udupi local language n what is muttu gullu halli
Matuu gulla is one variety of brinjal grown in a specific place called Mattu. This variety is now branded. This has specific taste which is special. This has been cultivated with the blessings of Vadiraja swamiji. Available during January to may. Can get it at mangalur stores at Bangalur.

You can
What is meant by temple style
Sister, some recipes will not taste if we make at home normally. But same recipes will give a good taste in temples as prasadam. So we call it as temple style. Normally brinjal is not used in temples I think so.
It is called as Temple style because it Satvika bhojana which is free from Tamasik vegetables like onion, garlic, tomatoes, drumsticks etc., And importantly everything is made on that day only like rasam powder, pickles and curds. No previous day's leftover is used.
@@kiranmayee6932 You are right . Brinjals are not used in temples except this particular brinjal which is called as Vadiraja Gulla.
Mantondu birnjal erti madb vda
