    I just quit Prozac cold turkey. This is day 5 for me. I’m having cold sweats and just feel weird. I took it for 3 months. I quit because I was having suicidal thoughts, which I never had before in my life. Prozac mad me feel bad in general. I think it made me more depressed. I’m happier now 5 days off of it than I was when I took it.

      I had the suicidal thoughts too. I had THOUGHT about it before, but after I took prozac for maybe a year? For the first time in my life I was not only thinking about it at that point, but fully ready and even EXCITED at the thought of jumping off the empire state building. I am working on getting off now.

    Gosh this just made me feel better! I have been tapering off by myself, but didn’t start as soon as I should have because now I’m hitting that 30ish day mark for me where I start feeling very impatient and focusing on “how long till this feeling ends?” I totally agree on keeping the mind quiet, etc. I know the things you’ve said but sometimes you just have to hear it again to apply it once again. Thanks!

    I tapered off Prozac last year after 12 years and stupidly tried psychedelic therapy straight afterwards and kept drinking alcohol, for about 4 months. My whole body was a mess and I ended up hospitalised. I feel like I’m still readjusting, worse part is my gut - it’s left me debilitated. I sometimes feels like my body and mind are broken. But I will heal! 🙏🏼

    • @destroyinganxiety

      Hey a like the last part of you comment. Your body can heal from anything and you have to take the time to focus on making healthy decision that will help your body and mind grow! Gut is a HUGE factor on how you feel and making sure you are eating properly can really change how you feel. Best of luck!

      Hello, I was on prozac for 4years and I just was kind of forced to quit cold turkey, because my psychiatrist wasn't available, but I really feel good about it and today she told me that if I'm on day 4 w/o it already, we can try to get me off of it completely. Everything changes the chemical composition of your brain. What you eat and what you drink and when you sleep and how you breathe. It’s not a scary thing and not at all a bad thing. Depression and anxiety destroy chemical composition of the brain, and treating it is much better for your health

      Perla Burciaga I wanna see you really have to be patient the half-life of the drug is longer than most which means it stays in your system longer than most. The biggest thing to get over it would be to be very active with exercise diet and some form of meditation. You just got to be patient with it because does take time but eventually your brain will return to homeostasis you’ll be feeling normal again!

      Hello everyone! I am currently doing better than I was before , I can say I was in a very dark place . I did stop taking Prozac and was prescribed bupropion but stoped taking those as well after a few weeks since they were making me feel worse. I decided to give CBD oil a try and honestly I feel like it’s helped over time. I do work out 5 days a week and try to eat as healthy as I can . I started seeing a therapist as well and it helped a lot! I know my anxiety and intrusive thoughts is something I’ll have to live with for the rest of my life but I’ve gotten a bit better at managing it. I do have bad days , ( it’s okay to have bad days , we all do) and I feel like my anxiety gets the best of me but I try to stay grounded and focus on the good things in life , remember nothing lasts forever and you’re definitely not alone! I’m here if you need someone to talk to! ❤️

    • @Larep21
      @Larep21 4 роки тому +3

      Under The Bridge To be completely honest with you , the intrusive thoughts haven’t completely gone away. It has been over 2 years now and they are still there , but not as persistent as before . I’ve gotten better at controlling the way they make me feel ( anxious ) when I get them . One thing that has helped me a lot was realizing that intrusive thoughts are really just thoughts and pretty much everybody has them , we just need to change the way we react to them since us people with anxiety tend to do that.

Even the FDA (the last to ever warn) warned in 2004 that just an abrupt change in dose can produce "suicide, hostility, or psychosis - generally a manic psychosis. My friend thought he was an ambassador to the queen of England for 5 months! Then after he cleaned up his diet & was doing better he let his diet go downhill &began smoking again so someone suggested Effexor! One pill is all it took to trigger another manic psychosis & for 6 months he thought he was a Scottish Crown Prince & about to inherit trillions! Worse was he got a Scottish kilt, etc. & set out to spend those illusive trillions. Luckily we found something natural to bring him out of that just in the nick of time because he was on the verge of having a massive heart attack with all that adrenalin pumping!

    All of the people who are in the comments thought about their choice and are doing this to better themselves. I'm just an idiot who somehow managed to not take prozac for 5 days straight. Also I've been on it for a year so I have no idea how it happened. Anyway, I'm dumb.

      @@destroyinganxiety I hope so, I am having the same issue atm, dry/heaving and vomiting in the mornings. I am going to see my GI tomorrow and request an Endoscopy just to make sure its not an ulcer or something worse.
      Might seem drastic but I was feeling bad before I started Prozac so not sure if the Prozac triggered something or if its just that bad side effects/withdrawal.

      Ya I would look up a waining schedule on UA-cam, I am no expert on this because I went cold turkey which I certainly don’t recommend.
