Marty. I found your vids via installing my own all-in-one on my Bridgeport. Very good explanations and extremely thorough. I just have question. Why don't you have more subscribers. Yours is by far the best on this subject. It's just a matter of time until you're discovered I guess... Keep up the great work! Dave.
Hi David. Glad they helped. I'm not too worried about the number of subscribers. Although I'm no expert, I put them up to hopefully inspire and help others with their project. You should take pictures of you rmachine and put them up on the Centroid Community Forum centroidcncforum.com
martyscncgarage I just loaded CNC11 and ready for bench test. My machine needed mucho cleaning and I'm repairing before putting it together. I'm very busy and doing it in my spare time so it's going slow. I wish I could take 2 weeks off and make some progress. It's tough to start and stop making any kind of progress. I'm not real big on forums because you get those guys in there that think they know...
Hello as far as Canary islands Marty I'm Newbie in CNC, but try to convert a conventional milling machine into CNC with Acorn, but comes with metric ACME lead screw, is it possible? Thanks in advance
Hey Marty great video! I just picked up a kasuga vm750 bed mill, will the oak controller work for that kind of mill? Can I reuse the Siemens servos already on the machine?
Please post pictures of your machine, control cabinet, model numbers of servo and spindle drives, and labels on motors and spindles. Try and find a link to a manual on the drives and post and ask for suggestions here: centroidcncforum.com/viewforum.php?f=20
@@martyscncgarage5275 ok I will do so. also if I went with new DMM 750w AC servos with the dyn4 drives would the standard centroid acorn for 300.00 make it work or would I have to go big and get an oak version?
I think the audio quality of your videos would greatly improve if there was a way to muffler the spindle fan if I think that is what it is originating from. Congrats on passing the test!
In August 2008 I purchased a new CNC milling machine with a centroid control. It was exactly 15 years to the day and to the hour from the time I energized the machine, that the mother board crashed. Take it for what you think, but I think an inbuilt virus is to blame for the sole reason of selling another control. Once you have a $30,000 machine and the control dies you have a $30,000 boat anchor. So yes I did buy an updated control and now it has been 3 weeks trying to get the spindle to rotate. 4 months and the machine is still a boat anchor. Please help me.
Hi Ronald. Not sure what you have. I can tell you that many people get overwhelmed with the conversion and or find they don't have the ability to wrap their mind around it and abandon the project. Others are too busy to do it and hire someone to get it done and back in service. They find it can be pricey, but if the machine is expensive, it can be put back into service and start making money again
With my old control I was going to try ridged tapping but control said this feature is not supported. There is no encoded on this spindle drive motor. Need to deactivate ridged tapping.@@martyscncgarage5275

Just an FYI on this one, the link in the Oak Install Manual for this procedure is dead, so there is no way to download this document.... Would love to see where I can get this document
@@martyscncgarage5275 Sorry Marty, I'll try to explain better. @@martyscncgarage5275 the spindle speed is controlled by a veritable speed pulley system and hand crank like a Bridgeport. I'm on a tight budget on this machine so I'll re-use anything that I possibly can. the seller told me it worked fine but it hasn't worked at all sense he brought it here.
For example, the report said that the distance between home limits is 31.4984" but the travel limits were set to 31.582. (which is outside the travel limits) So, I had to set the travel limits just under the 31.4984" I hope that makes sense Mike.

Hi Mike. Not quite following you. The limit switches are hit, then the control looks for the marker pulse on the servos. Most precise way of doing it. You might not have had your travels set correctly. Are you going to refit the V2XT? Yes, post pics or video. Visit Centroidcnc's user forum and post any questions there. I assume you are using AIO DC?

This is y years ago, I dont think you will check comments, but heres hoping. Do you have the papers you were reading so I can do this with my machine?
All in the Centroid All in One DC installation manual. You follow the in screen prompts as you do the test

I was saying you need the travel limits in programming short of the limit switch or after the switch ? I think short is what you said thanks again
If memory serves, the soft limits were too far, I needed to cut them back at least the value of the NEGATIVE value shown.

What parameter number is needed for the green bar on each axis?
I think you are referring to the load meters. please review Parameter 143 in the CNC12 V4.14 Operator's manual
