Yep. Slow and steady. I have 4 single homes paid off. My husband is not into it. After being frustrated at the beginning, I understood that people are different and we don’t have to see life the same way. He is super sweet and always there for me. If I need help he will be there. But because we don’t have the same mindset I avoid getting him around as we will argue. I invest with my money only and now I am a self made millionaire. But at the end of the day, all this wealth means nothing without him. Don’t get frustrated and keep up. 🙏🏾
I'm so glad I read this comment because I was literally just having this same thought. My husband is also not into it and I've been so frustrated by that. It's so good to know there are other women out there that have been where I am and have become successful regardless. I'm finally about to do my first deal with my own money and I realize he doesn't have to be a part of it. I can still love and value him regardless of him wanting to invest with me or not.
KC's story got me motivated! I have an opportunity to purchase 20 units (5 4-plex's) in the Phoenix Metro of Arizona with seller financing at 10% down with a 5.5% interest rate interest only. $3.5 purchase price I currently own 45 multi-family units in the Phoenix Metro and I self-manage everything and I was feeling discouraged because I didn't think I would be able to handle everything adding 20 more value add units. But that's how you test your new limit
Loved this episode!! Please bring the other Kasey! I would love to hear from her. I am “paralized” at 12 units bringing net $7,000 per month. I feel comfortable and need and want to get uncomfortable!!
Wow!! I just finished listening to this! My husband and I started and doing it together. 🥰 we started 2018, we only have 7 rn, closing one more in March! 🙏🏻 we learn fr each other, we complement each other. Thank you for sharing your story!!! So inspiring!
Good job! I started in 2019. So far 4 rental paid off (I overall got 6 and sold 2, to buy 2 more in upper neighborhoods) and self-made millionaire. Keep up.
Slow and steady works for me but I have a spouse that has been telling me for years to stop buying real estate even after my properties have appreciated 100% in some cases since 2020 and they ALL cash flow. Having a spouse that is not onboard with your real estate endeavors is extremely difficult but just have to keep moving forward on my own.

I’m so motivated to start! I’m 28, and the gulf coast of Ms has a lot of opportunities! A friend of mine told me about this podcast. I hope I learn a lot from you all, even commenters. I’m in car sales rn looking to start with getting my real estate license, doing whole selling, and having rental properties!
Enjoyed the pod! I was ready to listen to it longer snd get more in depth on the numbers. Im a full time firefighter and turned most of my units over to prop mgmt... None of them can do it as good as myself... Similar to what KC is saying . The only part i cant handle is the maintenance side and we just dont have much in our market in regards to handyman services. Sounds like we have similar mantras... Tenants first and treating them right! Hello from Lawrence Kansas
Has BP interviewed _anyone_ who hasn't started investing prior to 2020? Anyone who's become successful investing after prices have sky rocketed? Maybe we'll see some in a few years?
As a new investor, I’ve started to listen to these episodes less and less because everyone made their success in the last 4 years and today it’s a totally different game. Kind of pointless to listen to these stories
He discussed from 2016 and already had 10-15 units, I would like to hear how he started from zero to the 10-15 units and then everything else shared....
I was thinking the same thing , he went from a condo , to 12 units .. how did he scale , and how did they fund and what markets, this interview was all over the place 😂
I totally agree! Its a challenge to discuss a decade of investing in under and hour. The BP hosts do the best job they can to extract the pertinent info that will resonate most with listeners. The focus was mindset and approach to life that helped change the trajectory of our lives. I would love to get down to the nitty gritty if it will help you with your investing. In a nut shell from 2012-2016 we would buy a rental property a year (single family homes or small multifamily where we can value add/raise rents) from the sales job income and then 2016 to 2021 we sold 3 different properties to buy 83 more units. two sales were 1031 exchange and one was the sale of a primary residence. We did not bring any new capital to the table. We also refinanced some properties to lower our debt and payment and used some equity to buy another 4 plex. Thanks for taking the time to listen and if I can help in anyway please reach out!
Wow! I love this! I love how much you guys admire, give credit and openly say how lucky you are to have your wives as a business partner. Love the Ying and Yang of husband and wife team 💪
my wife and i just finished our first rental property, we certainly learned a lot but that extra income from rent is going to be a big help. now we are looking at the next step refinance to get the money for the next property
Today's market seems so difficult to get started . How to find good deals or how to know if its a good deal . SOS Thanks in advance here from South Florida
KC is a good interviewee. Andrew and Matt need to make an effort to stop saying "uh" and "um", poor interview technique. It's distracting. They need to be more professional.
My last name is DeRosa!! How did you come about that name? I love watching BP podcasts! Let Andrew Kushman know I would like to be on his BP dating app 😂😂 total same mindset!

I would love a Bigger Pockets dating app!! I think this is a great idea. This is such an important part of peoples lives - it would be nice to find like minded folks. I’d be interested if someone implemented this idea!
❤ don’t give up! Bald men are hot. Maybe you just dodged some women for a reason. You could be 3 times divorced with kids that hate you and no home. Keep grinding, your lady is out there.

Congrats on the progress!
I also pray you and your husband get on the same page as that seems to be a heart desire.
Awesome! We retired at 28 mainly off rental income and dividends.
How many properties did you buy?
I have many videos talking about our journey. I recommend checking them out@@YusefWakeel
Lol there is nothing passive about Realestate, unless your a Lp on a syndication.
It can be semi passive with good management in place. Nothing is truly 100% passive.@@Joe-dw1dy

If numbers make sense, do it! Your business will adapt and it will work.
You got this. We are rooting for you!💪👏
Seems like a good problem to have. Phenix is a good market
I wish I could say this. I fear I'm going to be small time forever and will never be able to retire off of real estate.
This is inspiring! Keep going! You are doing great!

Slow and steady approach has worked for us, too. Great narrative of taking action, working with your spouse and continual improvement.

This was a good one. Numbers make sense. Not those who after 3 years are making 80k profit a month.
This was an inspiring episode with Casey! Persistency and consistency will guarantee Financial Freedom! Thanks

Mr. KC Massie, Congratulations on your success!!! Thanks for sharing your journey!
“I only had 10 to 15 units. It wasn’t a whole lot” 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Great video! Yes - Have more kids!!! Real estate has opened up my world to so many things, but especially building a great family!

shout out to the example of the VCR rolling in lol

We did that and within 6 years we reached financial independence by ages 28. Just get that snowball rolling.
Excellent. Thank you all for your inspiration.
Btw thanks for sharing, great interview 👍 guys, so informative for commercial investment and inspiring
What book do you recommend for managing the properties yourself?
“The universe conspires around confidence!!!”
Team work makes the dream work
Got it. Work a sales job to make $2-500k a year & buy property 20-30% down
What is the name of that property management book, they mention?
Whoa, I Love his story!

When are you legally required to stop using the word "plex"?
Whats cap x? Which book by Brandon discussed that?
Ive read all of his so sometimes I confuse which says which but I believe it was “the book on rental property investing” by Brandon turner.
is this net?or gross?

My goals right there 🙌
Make it happen!
He skipped too many key details. How did he get that first 10? How did he get to 50 so quick before the big multi unit
Matt, your voice sounds like the originator.

Does the IRS consider you a full-time real estate professional now
Yes
Nope he doesn’t truly have all those doors until it is all paid off
