Spectacular 18th Century Dutch Sea Chart showing Australia sideways!

Today we will examine a magnificent example of this 18th century Dutch sea chart, in full unfaded original period hand colouring, published in de Wit’s, ‘Orbis Maritimus ofte Zee Atlas‘. Interestingly this chart shows north orientated to the left, giving an unusual projection of Australia.
