- Oh my god, I love the voices of the singers and the choreography of this video. This is one of my favourite songs from Coke studio from now onwards. Hopefully, you guys also enjoyed the video and reaction :))

Who am I?
I'm a first-year Eco student in the U.K. 🇬🇧
Interested in my ethnicity? Well, I'm mixed. (Japanese-Pakistani) 🇯🇵 🇵🇰
I was born in Japan but I grew up in Pakistan. (I did live some part of my life in Japan and visit it here and there)
I speak English and Urdu fluently, while Japanese is conversational (I need to practice lol) and I can understand Punjabi.

Fun fact, the Sari originated in mohenjadro, Sindh. I think when the British came and colonized us, mashing all these lands together, culture got shared. It eventually became a clothing peice of South Asia, India has represented it the most, and each ethnic group drapes it differently over there. It's really pretty. Pakistanis still wear Saris in Pakistan (mostly Sindh than northern Pakistan), and outside Pakistan- maybe with a more modern and modest twist. My grandmothers and their friends used to wear it all the way till she passed it away. I commented this bc I saw someone mention it in the comments. But yes a LOT has originated in Sindh that is completely silenced in the subcontinent- saris, head jewelry (forgot how to spell it in urdu), anklets, etc. I also know used to have our own style of dressing, plus the Sindhi khussa. People think Ajrak, a 5000 year old language, & topi, but that's not all of it. Love from a Pakistani Sindhi ❤ Side note: As everyone said, beautiful Urdu! I can understand around 5+ language, but my speaking is weak in almost all but a few. One day I'm polishing up my Sindhi and Urdu.

Nice reaction. Btw Gill here is not British or western Gill. Gill is basically a big Sikh or jat cast and there are many Muslim Gills too. In KPK they are called Gilzai. Singer's name is Anoushae Gill, short Shae Gill pronounced like May or Way. Sari is a common dress in both India and Pakistan, less prevalent in Pakistan today, but still part of women's party or formal dress in many parts of the country, including part of dress uniform for women in Pakistan military. There are also some women who sari is an everyday dress for or office formal wear for. Majority of them you will probably find in Karachi or Hyderabad as that is where most Bengalis, Biharis and UP background women and others live and sari is an ancestral integral part of their everyday dress. Everyday sari wearing in Punjab or other provinces besides Sindh is therefore not common. The dancer here is Sheema Kermani. She is well known as the foremost proponent of bharatnatyam and kathak dance in Pakistan and a women rights activist. Sari is a vital part of these dance forms. Sheema Kermani is a punjabi based in Karachi.

Saree isn't specifically from "Indian" Side. It was the culture of the subcontinent. Though, yes, it started getting less popular due to some hardline influences, but it's a shared heritage. Same with the classical dances too. Sheema Karmani is a noteworthy Pakistani Bharatnatyam dancer(the one in video) and ig was even awarded by your waa.
No matter how much we may overlook it, atleast for Punjab, our history and present is a testament of shared heritage and culture. Idk why pakistani side try to deny it so many times tho, kinda disheartening.
