I thought the same. This song contradicts the tension of the scene, and consequently gives you a nostalgic and melancholic feeling.

I hope Kenichi and Tima are dancing together with this playing in their shop. They both deserve each other. Kenishi x Tima forever! I love this movie.

Man, that's a really beautiful scene u just described. Maybe, the night, before they just closed their shop in their first day, they had the radio on and then this song started to play. They look each other, came closer and started to dance, remembering all the things they go through just to finally be able to be together again.

The first time I saw this movie and that first piano slide started and the chorus began, I was like "What?! Things are about to get so fucked up." And as the song went on with the scene, I felt more and more how extremely beautiful this song was for such a sad and destructive scene... The whole time, more and more, the feeling of suspense of if Tima will be saved or not til the very end... By the end, I was full blown crying. I still cry over that scene.

    (I can't stop loving you)
    I've made up my mind
To live in memories of the lonesome time
    (I can't stop wanting you)
    It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday
    (Dreams of yesterday)
Those happy hours that we once knew
Tho' long ago, they still make me blue
They say that time heals a broken heart
But time has stood still since we've been apart
    (I can't stop loving you)
    I've made up my mind
To live in memories of the lonesome time
    (I can't stop wanting you)
    It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday
    (Those happy hours)
    Those happy hours
    (That we once knew)
    That we once knew
    (Tho' long ago)
    Tho' long ago
    (Still make me blue)
    Still make me blue
    (They say that time)
    They say that time
    (Heals a broken heart)
    Heals a broken heart
    (But time has stood still)
    Time has stood still
    (Since we've been apart)
    Since we've been apart
    (I can't stop loving you)
I said I made up my mind
To live in memories of the lonesome time
    (I can't stop wanting you)
    It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life of dreams of yesterday

to those who really watched and appreciated this masterpiece work ? let me tell you this : this movie was in the mind of the Anime godfather Osamu Tusuki who unfortunately died in 1989 , he was inspired by the work of the German director Fritz Lang of same masterpiece Movie metropolis of 1927 , Otomo and other Directors in honor of Tusuki made this work that was laying on his shelves for decades .
it is truly a masterpiece story of a boy loving an android in the maddest of conflict between humans and their creation .
you should also watch the remastered version of Fritz's work the original Metropolis , it was way ahead of its time

    • @djRumHam
      @djRumHam Рік тому

who the fuck is Osamu Tusuki

    • @MrKnightD
      @MrKnightD 6 місяців тому +2

First of all, it's Osamu Tezuka, not Tusuki. Second, Tezuka was against making an adaptation of Metropolis. When Rintaro was working with him, he asked him if he would allow him to make a film about the manga, to which Tezuka flatly refused. It wasn't until years after Tezuka's death that Rintaro was finally able to do it. He himself has said that if Tezuka had seen the film, he would have hated it.
