@Jocelyn Kneifer I went to a Dollar Tree in one of the most lowest-income areas of Texas (it actually shows up as top poorest in the country) & the store was just like the one shown in the video. I think it was in the nice side of town because there was also an HEB Plus which is supposedly the fancy version of that store too 🤷♀️

I think it’s the weird green colored cartons that just stick out like a sore thumb! Some cartons are neutral colored but the styrofoam ones aren’t great for the environment either.
I like either cardboard or clear plastic containers best.

I got one for my mom once. We keep the uncooked eggs in the carton, hard-boiled in the plastic container (labeled as hard-boiled to avoid confusion for occasional guests)

I can play this both ways.....yes for the see-thorough-ness and stacking capabilities.....but no, I'm trying to cut back on the use of plastic for our planet!
We have a clear container that holds 18 eggs. Easy to see when it's low. Much sturdier than the cartons.
Also, they're sturdier than styrofoam or cardboard cartons! They can get a little bumped and nothing gets crushed. (Mom of 5, here.)
I never thought about being able to stack it. We keep our eggs on the shelf right below the cheese drawer, so there isn't any space above them, anyway.
In sewing terms we call it “right sides together”. Cute projects.

I don't really think you'd have to wash it unless an egg broke in it...other than maybe when you do a deep clean on your fridge, like washing the shelves and drawers.

Yes, if something is already in a well sized/shaped carton (as eggs are), I'm not going to transfer them. 😂

The egg tray is awesome for people that buy the big box with 60 eggs at once! Those are too big to fit in the fridge, so the trays come in soooo handy!!

Just a loving hint....look into Spavato treatment. My husband suffered for many years until the Dr. recommended this and now he's 95% better. Hope it's a helpful hint . Best wishes.

6:18 Those egg containers make it so simple to store those 5-dozen packs of eggs! I like to open the large packs and divvy up the eggs into the DT egg containers.

Team Charlie on this one except, we raise chickens, so I will be on the lookout for them. Protip: if you get farm eggs, ask if they have been washed. Washing removes the protective coating so they have to be refrigerated. If they aren't washed, you can leave them on the counter for over a month.

amazing! When you do wash them, do you use just plain water, then dry before refrigerating?
I always thought it was because of some special way they’re washed- so just normal soap and water is enough to make it so they aren’t shelf stable? Interesting!
@@darxhart1646 I have always just used water and a soft veggie brush or scrubber if necessary. Wait to wash until just before use or refrigerate after washing. You can leave dirty eggs out for a month with no issues.

I'm actually both on the egg containers! I put my boiled eggs in the DT container and leave the raw ones in the store container. I make boiled eggs for a quick breakfast a head of time. Fun ideas thanks

Another great and free stuffing for outdoor pillows is the plastic grocery/DT bags. I keep all of mine. I fold them up neatly while spending time with my nearly 90 year old mom watching TV - and keep them in the reusable bags. They make great trash bags (the only trash bags we use in our house - great for daily trash removal).

I like the egg holder for the frig. It is clear, so you can see how many eggs you have and know when to buy more.

We have our own hens, so I LOVE the plastic egg holders when I refrigerate them after hard-boiling. Prevents a mixup between the cooked and raw eggs (the raw ones we leave on the counter). We also are huge Office fans, I bought my daughter the stickers a month or so ago.
I’m team Katherine on the egg containers! It’s no fun when you have a regular carton and open it only to find one egg! I need things to be visible!
Also, I write the date on the lid with a dry erase marker so I can make sure they don’t go bad on me!

I’ve been tearing off the top halves of egg cartons (or cutting them off w/ scissors if needed) for several years now. That way the exact amount of eggs is always visible! I have learned over the years that things in the fridge work best for me if they’re transparent or at least as open as they can be- I’ve had to fairly recently stop leaving oranges & apples in the bags they come in, also. But yes I probably wouldn’t buy an egg container, as I hate washing dishes/containers, & do not have a dishwasher! 🤪
If you take off the lid, you take off best by date. And we use one container (the last one we bought) for hard boiled)

Team Katherine on the egg organizers. I'm very visual so they are like eye candy in the fridge. From time to time I just rinse mine with really hot water. Not terribly inconvenient. Also....stain #2 on the coffee ladder. You, too, are enough Katherine & Charlie! Thanks for bringing joy to our day!

RE: Plastic covered egg carton ... I agree with both of you. I'd love to have the Dollar Tree version for my hard-boiled eggs, but would keep my raw eggs is the carton they come in. Sadly we have no Dollar Tree in our town and the nearest is 1 1/2 hours away :( Love your videos!
Team Charlie 🥚 An egg container came with my fridge , so I use that for boiled eggs. Raw eggs stay on my worktop, because they don't need to be refrigerated in the UK, and the carton has the BBE date. I try not to purchase more plastic items 🙂

Hey girl! I love dollar tree so much i cant even explain. My love for them, Goodwill and thrift stores, yard sells and glea markets is unexplainable. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤this is what my life consist of. Down to my shoes, furniture and clothes, everything has been donated, free, off side of the roads, or bought very cheap. I love it ❤❤❤❤ilpp always be like this 💯
Team Kathryn! I put my boiled eggs into containers like that when I do my weekly prep. My son and daughter-in-law LOVE The Office. They can recite every episode and have it on often when I come to visit. I think they are trying to convert me!
The egg container works great in our RV - can set things on top. Our son has chickens, so I save the cardboard cartons for him. Also love having a lid on the ice cube tray. I do love containers!

At 3:58, you show camping lights with clip hooks. I love these for setting up around a computer (either a laptop or a desktop console) when I'm upgrading and maxing out the RAM and installing a solid-state drive in place of a regular moving-parts hard drive.

Team Charlie for the egg containers. Putting them in plastic containers seems like extra work for no payoff. If you have a chicken coop or even just a single chicken, though, the egg container would be a good way to store the home-grown eggs.
I think the egg container could also be good for jewelry-making organization.

As a floral designer - we only use sugar water if we fx have a wedding and we need the flowers to open faster.
Flower food ect doesn’t help your flowers to last, it does the opposite.
Instead
- use cold fresh water with a tbsp chlorine. Change the water every third day, and remember to give them a nice fresh clean oblique cut so they can suck up the water.
- with flowers like roses, you wrap them in newspaper and dip the stem in boiling hot water for 15-20sec first. Then you can put them in a vase with fresh cold water.
All depends how warm your house is flowers will stay pretty for 2-3 weeks.

I like the egg holders because we buy 5 dozen at a time from Sams or Costco, so you either open the box each time or leave half the box out on top.
