Considering that Sharan's UA-cam/ Instagram journey started only 2 years ago in 2020, his exponential growth and business success make for interesting conversation. But did you know that Sharan once struggled with cracking the IITs, or that he worked in consulting with KPMG and PwC?
As an elite student, Sharan believed he had every chance at making it big career wise. But pre boards in 11-12 class, Sharan found himself competing with equally stellar students and so at a disadvantage.
Further still, he realised that with the fierce competition a part of IIT, getting into IITs for engineering would also be a challenge. He finally went to RV College in Bengaluru. But reality knocked again and Sharan realised that Mechanical Engineering did not equip him with a career path he could stick to.
With a focus on growth, Sharan started proactively looking at career options on our own InsideIIM and found that he liked investment banking and consulting as future job roles. Despite not belonging to an IIT, Sharan managed to land an Analyst role at KPMG due to his focus and dedication.
He gives some reality bytes about consulting as a career and tells us how consultants are not born but made. Essentially, without any big educational brands on his CV, Sharan had to persevere and request to be a part of his first big consulting project. He shares how working with KPMG, he travelled, learned the ropes and worked on various projects.
Finally, Sharan tells us how social media happened and what motivated him to start Finance With Sharan.

inside iim brings these overachievers who boast how they became successful. this is the first time they brought someone with whom majority can relate. this also shows how toxic and discriminatory is the culture of these big firms. Everytime, they will criticise the indian education system and exams but their whole recruitment policy is around who scores how much marks. Its a shame that same person doing the same work gets less salary bcoz he is not from a " prestigious college". government should bring in a legislative to ban these discriminatory practices. this also shows how these partners and directors are shallow people who just scored some marks and went to "fancy colleges'

Exactly it's better to work abroad than in India
Actually I really felt bad for for the manager who was getting less salary than his junior because he was from tier 2 mba college and freshie was from IIM B 😢, and then some tier 1 college alumni give f*cking sermons that college doesn't matter 😂
Probably this the best UA-cam channel which I love the most , can you cover more aspects on high finance like hedge funds , pvt equity , risk management etc .

can u also bring in people from software industry who will give insight into software area n how the job markets are evolving,nature of jobs,career scope,different opportunities,n the popular myth/truth that people loose job after 45yrs in service based IT company how far these things r true etc etc and u can also launch software development course like web dev,devops,ui/ux designer course etc etc just like u hv launched courses in management consulting in collabiration with bcg partners which i think is huge,doing something similar in tech field would be great

It is a tier 2 college coz the tier 1 colleges include IITs BITS Top NITs and IIITs only. Best state colleges aren't considered to be tier1

Maybe I didn't understand better.. how a finance company consider mech engg or was this company after management course? Since he said most of them were from IIM's Can anyone help me .. confused 🤔
Actually, if you see the hiring criteria of companies like KPMG, they prefer hiring talent over qualification too. Sometimes Undergrads, Sometimes from different field backgrounds as well. He got placed in his 3rd year of Mechanical Engineering.

i can see so much of misguidance for this guy in having a proper mindset in his childhood. one time he says hes smart other time he says hes dumb but why do we make kids run behind all these. is this really be called development. it creates unstable minds. ccompetition must not exist. people wanna become doctors to earn better than others and damn it dosent works like that. you cant buy compassion and care with just money. moreover no education should be given a badging that if you study this then you will be rich in your life. its all wrong. indians are very fast in taking wrong paths. we spoiled our tradition running behind fake influencers from westren world and now our own guys turned into influencers who publicise nonsense these days killing more and more minds. its awful day by day.
