    Thanks for the tour. My Dad worked at the Railway Express loading docks in The Yard for 40 years. Those guys really had to tough it out in those days. I appreciate the video.

    As a railfan remember the yards in the pre-Conrail time with the Southern Crescent & Broadway Limited in the yard.

    I looked in a couple of railroad glossaries but couldn't find the definition of the term "drill." Can you explain how you use it? Very interesting and entertaining history, thanks much.

      A drill crew does moves in the yard, such as cut and couple, making up trains, moving them from one spot to another, etc. Those are called drill moves.

    So there was 3rd Rail still in the yard long after the Pennsylvania was long gone ??? I see why they said it was a dangerous place back then, had to watch were you walking & stepping at !!!

      How’s life treating you, retired yet? This will be my tenth year retired, my son Chris is working daylight at high speed and is in his 26th year. I get together with some of the guys once a month,John Caruso,Sal Guida bill carney and Nick Volpe (92) always good to hear fro old friends
