- This is a brief training video that we show all of our new employees at Matthews Painting Company who we train to become professional painters. In this short video, we demonstrate how to properly use furniture sliders, also referred to as Moving Men. Pay close attention to the difference between the hard plastic furniture sliders used on carpet compared to the felt furniture sliders used on laminate, hard wood, tile or linoleum.

Thanks . This really helped me.💯
I love my sliders. We are getting older so they help. I can move my heavy sleeper sofa, buffet etc very easily and do so anytime I want , so yes get some!
Agreed!
this table looks so light, the guy can lift it with one hand!!! I wanted to see a bulky / heavy item across a high pile carpet.
The same principles apply for heavy items as well.
Wow, lots of good info here, great video. Such a handsome guy too.
I am glad you liked it.
would it work for a 100+ kg wardrobe?
Yes. I have used them on 50 gallon fish tanks.
What sliders is the best for your fridge
If your fridge is on tile, laminate, vinyl plank or wood, use the sliders that have felt on them and make sure the felt side is down.
Do they work outside? Like sidewalks?
You can use the plastic bottom ones outside, however you will ruin the bottoms of the sliders and they will get really scratched up. Also, when using outside, you are more protecting the furniture legs rather than protecting the surface because small pieces of gravel or debris can get caught under the slider and scratch a deck or porch floor for example. Also, scratched up sliders will not work well on carpet ever again.
How do move furniture without slider
You can use an old quilt or moving blankets and get that under the furniture and pull on the quilt or blanket to move the furniture. A round broom handle or 1 inch diameter dowel rod can work at times or you would just need to practice safe lifting of the furniture. Note: The dowel rod or broom handle could damage the bottom of certain furniture.
