One of the best gaming soundtracks of all time. Shame they gave Jesper the cold shoulder on the latest releases...it shows...big fail on their part IMO. He really captured the "moments" musically...something missing in games of late.
I've been a Jesper Kyd fan ever since Hitman 2 came out, but only recently I've realized, that the last track on this LP is one of the grandest pieces of orchestral music I know. Maybe not "the best" in general, but surely the most epic - it makes me think of a gigant ship, bigger than titanic or any warship known to man, battling huge waves, cutting through the storm and fighting the element in it's prime form. One of those songs, that just kickstarts your imagination.
The Happy Clinic in many games the sound files are stored usually as a proprietary format, on Carmaggedon Max Damage for example they are in .ZAD format which you can extract with Winrar, then add your own files and edit the index file to then compact the folder again and rename the extension so it becomes the proprietay format that the game can read. I havent played the last hitman yet but upon research it seems that unfortunately this is almost impossible for this game due to DRM
"Action in Paris" maybe there was supposed to be a Mission on Paris, even when you have one in france. Homever "Action in Paris" plays on the White House. Great Soundtrack, Jesper definitely has to return to Hitman 6, which is going to fix the mess of the last one.
Dimbark He means the song Action in Paris isn't used in the Opera house mission. Almost all of the titles of the songs correspond to the wrong level. Vegas for example was used in the Christmas party mission.
Nonya Bussiness Don't worry they learned a lot from it. In an open letter they said the next hitman game will be going back to it's roots. There's also an artwork which really has that feel we all love again. Check it out on hitmanforum.com or hitman official site
I recently started playing Hitman 2 (2018) and my number one complaint must be the music. It's so grand and awesome and menacing in thease older games. The new one is just generic and boring.
When I was a Missionary for the LDS church. I would listen to this soundtrack. So putting on my white shirt, suit, and tie. It felt I was going out on the town to commit assassination. But I was giving out Books of Mormon instead.
To be fair, the composers for Absolution and Hitman (2016) both did fine, I'd say the soundtrack for Hitman (2016) was actually really good. Still not as good as Kyd
@@crazypants88 Yeah Hitman 2016 has a decent soundtrack but it too generic and James Bondy in my honest opinion... I actually didn't mind Absolution's soundtrack either as most of it really fitted the game and I actually prefer it over Hitman 2016's soundtrack but Jesper Kyd's soundtrack for all the the Hitman games he did are still the best in my opinion as Contracts and Silent Assassin have some of the best music in the series that will probably never be topped...
There's something about finding the right music for a game that takes a great game to an amazing experience. I feel like sometimes a lot of game developers think of music more as a background element so there isn't just silence in between action or something like that. But take something like DOOM and DOOM Eternal for example, think of how key that music is to the experience and bringing it all together and giving it just the right element it needs. Music is very important, and soundtracks like this are some of the all time best examples in all of video games. This fits SO PERFECTLY with the entire Hitman tone and atmosphere of the game, the intimidating and badass opera vocals that fit so perfectly with 47's demeanor and blank faced badassness and elegant proficiency. The reason why I mention it is because I love the new Hitman games, I've almost hundred percented all the challenges on all the maps from the 1st, it's pretty much all I could really want out of a modern Hitman game I love the level design and all the fun different interesting rewarding things you can do and explore and I think they've gotten pretty close to perfecting the Hitman formula gameplay wise. But the music is mostly so quiet or just not even there and when it is there I can't remember it 3 seconds after I stop hearing it. Sometimes I don't even notice the music playing at all. That was never the case with Blood Money, these songs are so immediately recognizable to me years and years after I played it and always play in my head. I SO wish the new Hitman would do something similar. You don't need to try to recreate the exact tone of Blood Money, I get that it's modern and sleek now and i appreciate that, but I really wish they would bring back the opera and orchestra because I truly cannot depart that music from Hitman and agent 47 and I just want to listen to this soundtrack the entire time I'm playing Hitman 2 okay rant done thank you
Great comment, Jesper Kyd's music basically made Hitman, it would not be the same experience without it. Tbf though, he still makes some very good soundtracks, but for me they never got the right mood, Jesper Kyd is the best with that psychological and dark tone that fitted Hitman perfectly.
qsqua Not debatable. The pronunciation after the determiner starts with a wovel either way you say it (O.S.T. / Original Soundtrack). Thus, it is "an".
Blood Money was the better game, but you're all talking about Absolution like it was as bad as the Hitman movie. I've been a Hitman fan for over 10 years and I understand if you didn't like Absolution, but don't tell me it was a bad game.
I must agreed...Hitman as like a game is the best suited stealth game for me ever. And with (if i remember correct - Hungarian symphony?) this music u can feel true power of silent assassin! ;-) (sorry for bad language ;-) )
That's because it was as bad as the Hitman movie. Shoehorning third person shooting galleries, breaking the disguise mechanic, and having a soundtrack comprised of Inception esque horn blaring fart noises are all big time no no's to have in a Hitman game. Squeenix turned the series into a Splinter Cell Conviction knock-off, which was an abominable game as well.

Udyr Swag Absolution wasn't received well by us fans but you do get the random fan now and again who digs it such as yourself. The game was good in everyway including the new engine and cinematic style. But the gameplay was bad and was very non-Hitman. Linear and Splinter Cell: Conviction style. IO Interactive have decided to change this upcoming game back to its roots due to the reception and random Conviction phase they went through in Absolution. I enjoyed it but... It didn't have the Hitman feel.
Jesper will one day have to return to the Hitman. His next songs for other games (like Assasin's Creed and others) were really great and you can not fault them, but ... with Hitman it's just the perfect pair - a brilliant game and brilliant music. It is simply brilliant.

One of the best gaming soundtracks of all time. Shame they gave Jesper the cold shoulder on the latest releases...it shows...big fail on their part IMO. He really captured the "moments" musically...something missing in games of late.
Used to play this game on a daily... Know every song.
Ok now go to your pony porn website.
I love the new Hitman games, but it just cannot give you the level of atmosphere which was brought by Jesper Kyd's talent.
NO MATTER HOW MANY HITMAN PARTS THEY D CREATE HOW WELL THEY D EMPROVE GRAPHICS... DOESNT MATTER THE BLOOD MONEY WILL ALWAYS BE AN EPIC AND THE BEST
While I agree, I wonder what you think of the new HITMAN and HITMAN 2?
@@MMaRsu hitman 2 is great in its own way, these games have changed greatly over time and that's not necessarily a bad thing
hitman 2 is a very, very damn good game. but they had changed the character a bit
just repleyd just so you can see it agein
This is still relevant god damm it
Someone should mod this ST into the new hitman game
turn off the game's music and keep this tab opened. not exactly modded but improves the new game more than I ever imagined
The Happy Clinic oh believe me i already done that haha
BURNZY187 you can edit the game files and add your own music
Daniel Lee would you care to elaborate, sir?!
The Happy Clinic
in many games the sound files are stored usually as a proprietary format, on Carmaggedon Max Damage for example they are in .ZAD format which you can extract with Winrar, then add your own files and edit the index file to then compact the folder again and rename the extension so it becomes the proprietay format that the game can read.
The opera house level takes place in France.
Dimbark He means the song Action in Paris isn't used in the Opera house mission. Almost all of the titles of the songs correspond to the wrong level. Vegas for example was used in the Christmas party mission.
eh idk, i think the hitman we loved is long gone. i was very displeased with absolution :(
Nonya Bussiness
Don't worry they learned a lot from it. In an open letter they said the next hitman game will be going back to it's roots. There's also an artwork which really has that feel we all love again. Check it out on hitmanforum.com or hitman official site
Revert1989 Let's be cautiously optimistic. Absolution was such a letdown... It just, hurts a bit
My Top 2 would be the Main Theme and Hunter. The others I can't on the rankings as of now.
49:30 now you aare truly lost
You are truly dead.
@@SolidRaiden2655 Exactly
Absolution was just a bad dream 47 had while under the effects of the "Poison" syringe.
I mean that is sorta true. At the end of hitman absolution it reveals that the first mission was all a dream and he didn't kill Diana.
@@SolidRaiden2655 he really shot her, but not deadly
@@soppaleipaoy4355 Yeah he let her live.
#KydBackPlease
I recently started playing Hitman 2 (2018) and my number one complaint must be the music. It's so grand and awesome and menacing in thease older games. The new one is just generic and boring.
31:18 THE BEST!
Jesper Kyd is love, Jesper Kyd is Life!
And Patrick, SHUT THE FUCK UP!
+PriestOfTheUnholy xD

When I was a Missionary for the LDS church. I would listen to this soundtrack. So putting on my white shirt, suit, and tie. It felt I was going out on the town to commit assassination. But I was giving out Books of Mormon instead.
It just isn't Hitman without Jesper Kyd.
@@TheOrangeMatty Agree
22:47 first and then 13:41 Really nice combination!
I'd be darned if the next hitman game has an ost better than this
a* better ost
Debatable. OST starts with an 'o'.
qsqua
Not debatable. The pronunciation after the determiner starts with a wovel either way you say it (O.S.T. / Original Soundtrack). Thus, it is "an".
JackdawValentine
Though he did write "a better ost", in which case the adjective would warrant the other.
JackdawValentine A mutual intellectual argument on UA-cam with no abuse? Well, I'll be damned.
Night Time in New Orleans is so brilliantly haunting.
Lyrics at 29:16 "Take ye panty off, in south Bomora." Enjoy
+Billy Harden can't...unread... :( now the lil'voice is whispering in my ear)
T'was my pleasure :D
Tanks Billy. I like the song more now. XD
It actually says "Requiem, Aeternam Donna"
Blood Money was the better game, but you're all talking about Absolution like it was as bad as the Hitman movie. I've been a Hitman fan for over 10 years and I understand if you didn't like Absolution, but don't tell me it was a bad game.
My view is this, Absolution is a good game, BUT a bad hitman game
so absolution is good ? didnt play it yet
Alexandru Garlea
It certainly is!
This and ac2 soundtrack are so amazing, Jesper Kyd should be in the same category as John williams.
He is
Fifteen years ago. Oh... Whole life.
I am feeling so old and my childhood looks so far away from me right now. True happiness, joy seems to me just had faded away, just gone.
23:04 in my mind, always killing someone with fiber wire and dragging him inside the trash
hitman without jesper is no hitman, we want jesper back
49:30 That what i called : OLD MEMORIES
The best soundtrack i ever hear in the history of the video games, not hitman 1,2,3,2016, this blood money.
Moving agent 47 to the sound of the beat. So badass
The first song is a FUCKIN' HELL MASTERPIECE!!!
Hitman:BM
greatest hitman game ever made and very famous and demande instead of the latest games of trilogy.
we want the remastered editions of Hitman : Codename 47, Hitman 2 Silent Assassin, Hitman 3 : Contracts, Hitman 4 : Blood Money and Hitman 5 : Absolution with the soundtracks made by Jesper Kyd.
It will be the famous series and a recognition of famous games
24:02 really catches the feels.I feel like a cold blooded assassin without remorse
14:32 so beautiful beginning....
oh dear justin, this epic and intelligent music is pure pleasure for my ears. hitman going like a batman - superhero, just because of you.
Best soundtrack in series, and the Hitman series has many of the best soundtacks in gaming.
This music made your missions truly feel prophetic.
Walk onto a random balcony... suddenly 47:52 plays. You don't know what you just did, but you know there are people after you now and that's it.
And then you realize it's the little dog and you're sad because you have to kill the dog to have the SA rank
Jesper is a master of creating tension, I have never been so nervous of climbing out of a bin whenever the music increases in tempo.
47:54 El soundtrack que mas adrenalina te ofrece, good work
It's been ages since I have played this. Maybe its time to dig up ps2 again and replay. One of the best games on any console. Especially the rehab clinic was my favourite.
12:19 CONGRATULATIONS.. SOMEONE SEE YOU WITH A GUN OR KILLING SOMEONE...SAME THING AT 47:52 AND 55:18.
CONGRATULATIONS YOU KILLED THAT OPERA GUY 0:00
lol
One of the best soundtracks in hitman games!!!! Hitman series has the best music.
The last good Hitman game to date.
LordVader1094 until December/2016
Grant Wilson We shall see.
LordVader1094 Hitman Absolution was really nice
Told from a Real fan of Hitman.
Udyr Swag Eh, whatever floats your personal boat.
As much as I love Hitman WOA, I wish it had that same "feel" the first four Hitman games had.
48:04 i heard this soundtrack every time when i am HUNTED it is the most heard.
Some of my most favorite games have the best soudtracks. Arkham city, Uncharted 3, Zelda 64, Persona 4 and 5, and of course this game. Good times...
Loved Arkham City's soundtrack as well.
Blue_Phoenix shadows of colossus
Vegas is my favorite
31:16 vegas the best
Damn right
the best game soundtrack ever, when you play you feel like you're there
The best one is a t 1:01:40
Yup! Thats right!
It sounds friendly
After killing the target unnoticed apocalypse starts playing you feel like a real assassin
Best Hitman game ever.
Best sound, newspaper after every mission 😁, best story, best mission and locations would love if they made remake like the new hitman games to give us more missions in those great maps.
