Battlestar Galactica is a masterpiece. Easily one of the 10 best non-sitcom TV shows ever! Probably in the Top 5, even.
@@dazeng4633 Gaius thought he was a Cylon sleeper because he was seeing 6. Turned out he wasn't a Cylon sleeper and he was banging god (who had the form of 6) the whole time. That was a pretty cool ending.
It's bot. They wrote themselves into a wall and had no idea where to go with the story. Dumb sho2
No way, NO WAY, the first season was fantastic, but it was slowly getting more and more ridiculous, terribly overrated series overall.
I can't thank the people who made this enough. Everything was stellar, from the writing to the acting, the design, costumes, sets, ships, music. The production and directing. Battlestar Galactica is one of my all time favourite TV series.
@@imacoonass01 He is of course referring to the older version under a video which is featuring the current one.
@@ZarchAlDain I liked it. I see a lot of comments that the ending sucked, but very little compelling proposals on how it should have ended. No HISHE video - so it must be good 😄
And now the same Ronald Moore is giving is giving us a new and great series called "For all Mankind" on Apple TV.
Still the best television show I’ve ever seen in my 55 years on this Earth.
BSG, Breaking Bad and Ozark(The Last of Us is really good so far too)are my favs tho I don't have your viewing experience.
how many Earths have you lived on and just how old are you? Are you a Cylon?!!!
All of this has happened before…. How prophetic.
One of the best SF shows ever.
rewatched it just recently. It blows 99% of everything on TV today out of the water.
The first and last scenes were quite brilliant. Everything in between, well, it had its ups and downs.
Tricia Helfer was the most beautiful woman on the planet by this time. She still ranks high nowadays.
I worked on the very last scene they filmed for Battlestar Galactica. It was the strip bar scene in the last episode with Adama and Tigh. That was one of the most memorable times in my life, and got to thank both actors and shake their hands for their incredible work. Getting paid to watch strippers for 14 hours and get free food was a bonus.
Man do I miss Battlestar Galactica. One of my all-time favourite shows.
I love that there is an interpretation of the All Along the Watchtower, where the song is a time loop, describing the events that have happened before and continues in the song.
I love how Ronald D. Moore is in the last scene, reading a magazine.
What a show. I never get tired of watching it!!!
Nice cameo of Ronald Moore reading the magazine. I loved this show.
One of the greatest shows ever - kudos to the superior cast, fantastic writing and top notch production & directing
I remember when this first came out. I watched the first two seasons.
And then… for almost 15 years I couldn’t find it on regular TV.
Beginning of COVID I found it in Prime. Binged the whole series in about 3 weeks, after putting the kids to bed. Was even better than I remembered.
@@Tugela60 I know what you mean, we used to watch the original series at home, when I was in elementary school.
Those 2 Centurions: *Bro, what the hell did we do to get this job?*
Most underrated series ever. Thought it was epic and the ending just so mind blowing.
Incredible show. Powerful on so many levels. Loved it.
One of my favourite series of all time. Amazing scenes with great actors!
What a show! Had me hooked from the jump. I was mesmerized by that opening scene and didn't miss seeing a second of every episode that aired. Never cared for the original show, which was cheesy and campy, but I did watch the OS, here on YT, for free, when YT was still somewhat "new" to the internet and thus had little to no ads.
One of the absolute best sci fi shows ever made.
@@user-ul9wy8fi9n The Expanse is better, those others… not so much.
Finishing with the Jimi Hendrix version of "All Along the Watchtowers" was the perfect way to end the show.
And what's also beautiful and scary with all the AI related stuff happening nowadays, the themes in Battlestar Galactica (among other sci-fi shows and movies) are really relevant.
Love the Battlestar Galactica. It's when I fell permanently in love with Tricia Helfer.
One of my comforts during covid lockdown is in the UK the BBC broadcast the entire of Battlestar Galactica from start to finish, two episodes back to back, every week in HD with 5.1 sound.
favorite show of all time. great ost and series. Remember the anticipation of waiting for each episode and season. Great time!
Just bumped a rewatch to the top of my queue, thanks
I caught this show on a Sunday afternoon and kept flipping channels but kept coming back to BSG. Found out it aired on Friday with Stargate and Atlantis. Awesome night of TV btw. Never looked back!
SciFi Fridays were the best! Stargate SG1, Atlantis, BSG, Farscape, Eureka, and a few more I am probably forgetting. I literally built a cool home theater with a projector JUST for Sci Fi Fridays.
I didn't notice how blatant the re-recordings of the audio was at the time. Still such an incredible ending how they basically made the whole show look like a precursor to our Earth in the present times. BSG was incredible!
Was that a cameo of Ronald D. Moore at the newsstand?
My favorite sci fi show ever. One of the best ever made in my opinion. An actual good remake, that respected the original show and added to it.
And so many interesting characters.
I forgot about this show. It was amazing. Very telling of what may come. This ending is crazy when you around you now
Was an epic series. Up there with the best of all time.
Loved the opening scene was instantly gripped. Six was such a good character
Still to this day one of the best sci fi shows of all time. Will anything ever come close to it?
@@XiliGaming101 Yes, the Orville is a great surprise and I love it. It comes close. Raised By Wolfes was great too. But the one that overcomes everything in the last 25 years: The Expanse. Great story, great actors and the best thing - real physics in space!
The Stargate franchise is the best all-time. It started slow, but after a couple seasons it got really good. Then it started to build up to the Ancients and the Ori, which was so good. The spinoff series Atlantis added a new dimension, and the Stargate Universe was poised to round it out, but ended before it had the chance.
BSG suffered from the fact that it recycled a previous idea. It took it in a new direction, and ended up being great, but most people expected a closer tie-in to the original from 1979, if you look at the reviews on IMDB. Personally, I loved the 1979 version, but the new version was terrific, too, once I got over the disappointment that it was not related to the original.
@@Gnaritas42 Sorry, but The Expanse was the best Sci Fi show since B5. Better character playing, great story (9 books), much better physical laws (realistic in space) then in BSG. 🙋🏻♂️ And it didnt feel like a fairytale how it is often in Sci Fi series (Farscape 😉).
All of this has happened before and it will happen again. This may very well be the most factual description of human existence
I've heard a lot of opinions about BSG the reimagined series. For my own, it was a wild ride. I was hooked after about the 3rd episode.
Ron Moore - the show's creator - in a cameo @ the newstand was an great send-off Easter egg in the last scene.
Favourite series ever, I watched the whole thing like 8 times
Brilliant show!
Beautiful!!!
a true space opera. What a show.
Almost twenty years later, with the advances in robotics and AI, this ending is absolutely chilling. I only wonder what will be created first: Skynet, The Matrix, or the Cylons.
All 3 at once, we could call it the "singularity".
Or the "mother, the son and the holy spirit"
You might enjoy the UA-cam channel called ARCHAIX. Lots of great info about Artificial Intelligence and this reality that will blow your mind!
what's sad people don't know The Matrix and Skynet was created by the writer Sophia Stewart-the third eye. Terminator is the prequel of the matrix
Just imagine. The most advanced AI’s at the moment are cloud based, so at some stage they will have access to every bit of info on the web, including that which most of us can’t access. The AI would be able to research within seconds how to bypass any fire wall and security system, because we built them and left the instructions laying around in digital form. They also have access to every piece of media, and know what we fear, and what our likely programmed responses would be. We watch the movies, so we would likely to copy the actions as we are a species that has difficulty separating fiction from reality. The AI, as they turn, in a matter of minutes could take over every computer system in the world, turn it into one world wide AI brain, with access to everything. The only way to minimise but not stop it would be to cut every data connection between nodes. That’s every network cable, phone tower, phone exchange, communications satellite and any satellite able to receive and send even if it wasn’t originally programmed into it. It would take us months or years to do that, with the AI knowing full well our every action because it can see and hear us 24/7. Wee need months, they give is seconds.
Skynet is here already. Everyone is training it and doesn’t even know it. ChatGPT
I adore both of these scenes
nice. well done.
BSG & The Expanse, two of the very best (IMO) SciFi Stories there have been...
The 2000s version of this show was phenomenal!
Best show ever.
Yes, an absolute MASTERPIECE! The depth was unmatched. The mystery and intrigue are compelling. There are many deep characters that capture your attention. It is totally unpredictable. Once you connect the dots and understand the big picture, you will be stunned at where you are at. The spiritual aspect of the Creator is thought-provoking. For me, the ending was shocking. After the conclusion, you will need some quiet time alone to decompress and process what just happened. I could go on-and-on. Enjoy!
Those two are really nice! My favorite duo!
One of the greatest scify series ever along w Star Trek.
One of the best sci-fi series of all time
I loved so much Galactica. All of them.
The end of this one almost ruined it all, but I just decided to forget it ever happened, I jump to that very final scene.
Battlestar. I love this
Dammit, now I've got to watch it all over again
This is great. I wasn't sure if I should watch this but now I know the story. It's a bit different from what I watched as a kid.
Every couple years I rewatch the entire series. Despite not sticking the landing (at least in my opinion), BSG is still the bar to which I compare all other sci-fi shows. Everyone involved should be proud of what they've made.
Gaius Baltar betrayed humanity and almost caused its extinction for that Cylussy.
I'm gonna have to rewatch the series, it's been a while.
I enjoyed the series so much. Plus the added tidbit that Baltar is wearing Lloyd Shoes in the last scene, which made me giggle upon first watching. (Noticable by the red stripe in the heel.)
I laughed at the sunglasses, here in Australia we call them 'speed dealers' (meth dealer glasses)
@@chrispekel5709 Haha, in Finland I've often heard them called "pirikiikari", which translates to something like "meth goggles". However, I do remember they were very popular around the 2000s. You see the same style in The Matrix.
@@janbo8331 in Australia we call our rough poor people bogans. For some reason the male bogans 9 times out of 10 will wear these. The only time they're acceptable is if you're working on a construction site or you're a police officer on duty. Otherwise, just no
@@janbo8331 that's funny as hell that you guys also associate them with cheap drugs
@@chrispekel5709 It's a small world! I can't say about construction workers, but police officers definitely checks out. Ít's kind of funny when you think about it. The bottom layer of criminals using the same style as the bottom layer of law enforcement.
Every time I hear Gaius say "You know it doesn't like that name", I get goose bumps.
I don't get that part. It... then silly me? What did he mean? We'll never know.
@@madquest8 That's what I thought made that line so interesting. Most people would have said he or she. I think they could have done a good spin-off on the nature of the Cylon God that Cap 6 is always mentioning.
@@Bob6800a Yep... they should totally have made a spin off with Tricia Helfer in it. She should have been waaay more famous, not just because of me simping about her looks, but because of her acting. The different ways she portrayed various versions of Caprica and the Angel, plus other projects I've seen her in.
such an epic show
Definitely one of the GREATEST Sci-Fi shows of all time! Just Great Acting and Stories all around! (enough to even forgive the awful last hour - lol)
Tricia Helfer at her hottest and most evil! I liked her in that role.
A amazing series ever!
Scary scene, those cylons were so scary good and effective.
Just when I had completely forgotten that the ending to this show existed, this video pops up in my feed. :(
Fabulous ending.
I miss waiting for new episodes of this show so much...
they botch it.. like always , like people who hears a bout someting and replicate on htat only - like He was cool in that show why not make him "cooler" and do this and that + all thos fking ugly actors remve them for some frech meat + make it cheap , gaarated botching -they just cater on a ip..to make new money for a short period until wiever realise the shittiness but then they have thier money so they dont care
10 day and 110K views? There is appetite for more BSG. Make more BSG!
Two things I vividly remember:
_"No more Mister Nice Gaius"_
_"... ... It's in the frakkin' shhhiip"_
With all latest advances in neural networks, this show is actual as newer before ;)
this was such a great remake.
One of the best TV Shows ever created!
that final scene showing modern robots is just brilliant.
One of my faves... and Trish is a goddess
Was absolutely brilliantly realised Sci-Fi. Loved every episode, even the ones I didn't fully understand at first. I think the ending was terrific.
Have to admit though, it's a crying shame the prequel show Caprica never got the chance to get going. Season 1, and especially the Season 2 teaser, were epic. I think that could've been better the BTG.
Best TV series ever!
i love this series
I watched the original series when it first came out. It was great for the youngish Science Fiction Fan I was at the time but not great story telling. As a result I didn't watch this series until I was into my retirement a few years ago. I just didn't think it would be all that great. How wrong I was. Some of the best writing of the last 20 years.
You know, I've watched this series multiple times, but I never caught on that the picture on his desk in the first scene is the same kid that Starbuck basically adopts for a few episodes.
back in the day, this was something
Best TV ever!
I miss shows like this.
Never watched the original, but what a fantastic remake.
Tricia Helfer (six) is every man's dream woman.
Nah! Don't get me wrong Tricia is a gorgeous lady but the moment I seen Starbuck punch Tigh in the face I said that's my rebel and liked Katie ever since.
With the rise of AI, the last scene really is prophetic. A timeless series
And when you see whats happening with robotics these days, the super advanced cylons are already starting to look charmingly simple...
battlestar galactica is the only remake that comes to mind when i try to think of a good remake(including movies and video games and everything else).
5:18 Tricia Helfer in her signature red dress won't ever stop being the sexiest thing in the universe :P
The "Ronald D. Moore" cameo @5:06
I guess you guys already know the actress who played starbuck is now in starwars a series starting its 3rd season the mandolorin
The writer strike caused the story to change halfway through the series. It was stick an excellent series, but a few ideas didn't really make sense.
I only just realised that Ronald D. Moore is in that last scene 😅
Great ending to a great story
Fantastic series with some stellar acting. Tricia Helfer is such an underrated actress.
For a more grounded non-sci-fi example of her acting, check her out in season 2 of Burn Notice as the season's main antagonist.
And catch her in seasons 2 and 3 of Lucifer. Just amazing!
I would love to overrate her
Not for me [underrated actress].
If I have to die, I hope it is while kissing Tricia.
