My mother taught me the simple basics of crocheting. Up until watching your videos I was only able to make very simple blankets and scarves occasionally changing color. With your help I have now made this flower along with bows and beanies and leg warmers. I am having so much fun watching your videos and crocheting along with you. Thank you so much for bringing new life to this craft that I'm so addicted to!

Used this pattern to teach a ten year old future crocheter. She needed a 4h project. So once she learned all the stitches she wanted to learn a flower. I think this is one of the easier ones to teach and it makes a lovely flower.

Hi Girl-- I've just learned how to make a beautiful, full, open rose, thanks to your tut.
I had learned earlyer, how to make a tight rose, beautiful, but not as "rosey" as yours, thanks, I'll be useing your rose to send to anyone who needs a "rose' "I love you', pick me up-- Thanks, I am 74 years old, and take time for me every once in a while, to connect with my girls who I don't get to see very much, Thanks-- we all work,

There are honestly no words that I can say to express how I feel after just making my 1st flower ever. I've been making plain ear warmer / headbands and I decide to try a flower for them to give them more life, and OH MY, I am on cloud NINE!!! They look like something from a magazine, I still cannot believe that I did THAT! Thank you SO much Clare, you are awesome. Please never stop teaching us how to crochet well! It was clear, precise, so easy to follow. The color was ok for me to follow because that's the color I made MINE, hmmm... Life has new meaning to me now, lol, thx to you & crochet - I have health issues that make me barely able to do much of anything, crochet has put new breath into my life as good therapy.

You have shown me how to make a beautiful and easy rose. Ms. Dot will be so jealous, until I show her how easy it is. : ) The hardest part, for me, is figuring out which loop to crochet in. I liked the way you turned the rose and sewed it around. Thanks.

I've struggled with other patterns, so my search continued to make my first flower. Your tutorial along with the slowness (and beautiful explanations) were fantastic. Thank you for taking the time to show a beginner like myself to make a beautiful flower to place on a hat. Not only will I recommend you to others; so shall I continue to watch future projects from you.

Thanks for the demo. - very comprehensive and easy to follow. I have a hint for threading wool into your needle - fold the wool over the needle and grip between thumb and forefinger close to the needle. Slip the needle out keeping hold of the little loop you now have. Thread this loop through the eye and pull through. A trick I learnt as a child, which was several decades ago. Cheers.

THANK YOU !!!!!! Moreover, I learned to crochet many, many , many years ago within 1974 as myself and others formed a " Crochet Club " via our Elementary School. Nonetheless, I began to crochet again, as it is therapeutic especially after sustaining my business on a daily basis. Your tutorial is outstanding, as I made my FIRST FLOWER. Lastly, I've not been this proud of myself, since I received my acceptance letter from Harvard !

This was my first project. I just got my first ball of yarn and was completely lost where to start from. I tried with quite a few other 'tutorials' and had almost given up when I saw your video. You were the first comprehensive and pleasant-to-learn-from tutor! (btw I love your accent and how gently you hold the needle) I will be going through all your tutorials with excitement. As a beginner crocheter this originally looked a bit daunting but this fab video makes it seem really manageable. Can't wait til the kids are in bed to try it out! Xmas pressies sorted!!
