To all those complaining about the cost of car ownership in Singapore. That’s the entire point, they don’t want you to own a car and you have literally no reason to own a car either. Singapore has one of the best public transport system in the world. It is completely accessible for people with disabilities and goes to basically everywhere on the island.
@@HeyWorld-o8j It has nothing to do with emissions. The system is there only to limit the number of cars to the available road space. EV's will push the cost of car ownership in Singapore even higher.

Or else you will go jail and fine heavy..even the trees grow near your house, you are not allow to chop down. You may see fruits on the trees eg. Our Singapore Government protect these trees especially the oldest trees, rare species etc.. you will get super heavy fine for chopping these kinds.. Government spent a lot of money and manpower to take care these trees, plants, flowers.
Singapore is truly amazing. It is really a green city with parks all around the island. Singapore actually has the highest ratio of land to green space in any city in the world! over 400 parks and 4 major nature reserves
One issue that your reporter did not mention was how Singapore wants to restrict car ownership to reduce pollution etc. Cost is GBP 88,000 just for the right to own a car ... cost of the car is *not* included.
They have am efficient, clean and cheap public transport compromising of subways and buses. You will not spend more than USD100 Monthly for it. Their income is high and if everyone buys a car, there's no space to drive.

Apologies, but the correct pronunciation of Singapore is Sing-a-pore, and not Sin-ga-pore as your correspondents are pronouncing it. Also, viewers may have seen in some of the footage that the skies over Singapore seem hazy and may conclude that Singapore is quite polluted. The reality is the hazy skies are a result of air pollutants blown over from the numerous hotspots, and vegetation and forest fires in the region, especially in Indonesia where some farmers still persist in the practise of burning the land to clear it for farming or crops planting. The haze usually lingers due to very light winds and the absence of rain over Singapore during the hot season, and it tends to be worse in an El Nino period.
Thank you Indonesia ( Indonesian Vice-President Jusuf Kalla ) for giving Singapore 11 months of Oxygen, and 1 month of Haze ... Good job Indonesia -- Remember, too much Smoking is bad for your health ....
Singapore's greenery has been sharply declining in the last 20 over years as developers court politicians and ministers to remove even more forests once scattered all across the island in an already very concrete landscape. Yes the NParks will protest that they have planted more trees but these are mere fraction of those already destroyed. In the 80s many housing estates were landscaped with many variety of trees including flowering and fruit ones including giant concrete terraced planters that have been completely ripped out of beautiful rows of palm trees. But somehow after DS took over, the town councils and offices started removing them and replaced partly by ugly only leafy trees that never seem to change at all - they would have considered plastic or cloth trees except that even dumb Singaporeans would know they are fakes. Just recently they planted 20 new saplings just to meet some mysterious KPI right on the grounds once covered with many shrubs and bushes and where 2 trees had been badly scorched black and dying by the numerous times giant burning pits for all kinds of burning were approved by the town council managers to their beloved funeral contractors right next to those trees. Thank goodness the residents sleeping just metres from the legalised arson have not been burned to death yet.
Because the population is growing from 2 to nearly 6 million as such more housing is needed. Otherwise people have no place to stay. Although there is more housing, there are also over 300 parks which add to the greenery. Since the country is multi-racial and multi-religious it is respectable to provide the needs of religious practice such as burning cages to offer their prayers during funerals etc.
SG not green n clean anymore. Only along the route s from Changi Airport looks great but at our Housing Board Estates all one's can look around like graveyard. Around d estates rubbish n unwanted furnitures are being put at void deck.
