- The Australian Grand Prix weekend is in full swing and the on track action has been hectic for a Friday Free Practice Session. Those who got up to watch it were treated to a treasure trove of excitement with hairy moments, angry radio messages, and some big crashes to get their day started. Williams have a massive decision to make after Alex Albon’s huge crash in FP1, dare I say it but Red Bull look fallible, FP1 might have been the closest session in the sports history, shame it was just FP1 though, and Lewis Hamilton had one of the worst F1 sessions of his career which is where we are going to start.

Lewis got used to the best car!
He won’t tolerate anything but the best anymore. Ferrari will ruin him
If the car is a second faster than the rest of the grid, it is easier to setup. If not, it is down to the driver to get the optimum balance. You can see George has more experience to make a slow car fast when he was in Williams. Lewis always had a more superior car in his F1 career.
Spot on. It's not really a criticism of Lewis but just a testament to how fortunate he's been. I completely agree with your assessment of this.

That's not the first time that the Mercedes seems to be getting worse over the course of the week-end, it's a statement George Russell has already made on several occasions. That fact alone is evidence the team doesn't understand the car at all, and it's really worrying.

Most of the field are not happy with the performance of their cars & have been for a long time. I think Lewis is like a spoilt child who has spit his dummy out. He's now in the same boat as everyone else but in spite of that he's on a huge wage so what on earth is he whinging about.
It has already been announced that Alex will drive Logan's car. Logan has been withdrawn from the race. James has put out a couple of detailed statements about the situation, and this decision.

LH needs to get his priorities right. He should use this bad car as an experience to learn cars he is not familiar with and just drive. Everyday he is making the same mistakes of "set up changes" only go slower.

Hate to say it, but I don't care how bad the car is, the Hamilton of 10 years ago would not be struggling as much as he is right now. I think that one of the things that deteriorates as you get older is the ability to drag performance out of a bad car, like he did in eg 2009.
Hamilton should just admit that the car built for him with the extra input from him is what he wanted. Or just admit he hasn’t a clue about car design.
He has got exactly what his design input has created.

Please speak to your team about the poor editing and word placement of the headline regarding the Nikola Tsolov / Alex Dunne track incident @8:25 to @8:30. The wording was placed directly over the significant portion of the footage. It is replayed @9:15 and @9:34 with the driver names present in a good position but the large print blocking the incident the first time didn't work and was very annoying. I tried rewinding it several times before finding another video on another channel and coming back to the video later on to un-pause and find the correct footage 45 second later. I can't imagine the intent was to inspire people to go elsewhere to find the footage.
LH is fast, but idk if he knows how to provide valuable input on how to develop a car, he likely hasnt had to until '22, and now he likely wont have to again at ferrari if fred is to be believed about the car

Lewis should just sit out until next year. Not like he needs the money. Just void your contract with Mercedes. And go to Ferrari. It’s obvious he’s checked out and Mercedes are only going to use him as a mule this year anyway. Let merc run mick until the break. And go to Ferrari and start learning the team so you can hit the ground running.

I think Tsolov should be banned for X amount of races and let him continue. You need to learn, not be punished indefinitely for making a bad judgement. He’s young, just let him learn a lesson and carry on.

Maybe Hamilton should spend more time in the simulator training and dialing in possible setups like his competition instead of crying to the media about every possible drama he can
How come his setup choice is so s..t compared to his team mate? Maybe he's not so good as he thought when it comes to working with his engineer. If the car is not behaving to the Sims, then the CFD programme has to be up the spout and the desk jockeys should be looking hard at this discrepancy with their real time info from the first two races.

I don't trust the engineer's. . . it's easy to tamper with the cars if you know how, Lewis ain't average at all. Just made to look like that out of spite on leaving Mercedes. . . Michael Schumacher won in different cars! Unlike Hamilton he didn’t need the best car on the grid! That’s what differentiates a champion from the others! As a side note, unlike Hamilton, Schumacher never blamed the car for not winning!

Hamilton fails when he gets a challenging car, George has demonstrated that he is better when the going gets tough. Perhaps Hambo should have shut up about the car previously and let the designers work with feedback from George LOL.
