people who sing or in the Entertaiment business are slaves Musicians are made to entertain kings and queens' royalty Slaves are made musicians only black people look up to musicians as leaders no other race makes entertainers leaders besides black people, no one respects black people because musicians are your leaders
But why did no African country complain about the dominance of 'foreign' music when US and Jamaican music dominated Africa. Their domination even lasted longer than Nigeria's music have reigned. In fact, dancehall is still popular in many Africans country without any complaint.
Thanks so much 🙏. My brother, I am beginning to get tired of this, honestly. The envy towards Nigeria is just too much, and it's not going away anytime soon.
Teejay, do you know i was in a country side in a Non English speaking European country. I was amazed when i went inside a shop. For 30 minutes I was there till i left, i they were jamming to Nigerian music. Funny thing the people were singing along. Omo I was shocked. And when i asked one of them, do you they know which country music is this, He just said Africa. I wanted telling him Nigeria, but i said well, its Africa, Nigeria is putting Africa out there. And it all boils down to quality, proper PR and marketing
I've repeatedly tried to educate Ghanaians that they are sabotaging African by fighting Nigeria's Afrobeat, because the rest of the world refers to Afrobeat as '*African'* music. Entire Africa gets the credit for Afrobeat. But Ghanaians are blinded by mas envy.
Use your brain for a minute, and see beyond the surface. Why was this issue never raised when American and Jamaica's music dominated? Why is there so much urgency for everyone else to learn, and catch up with Nigeria? Ghanaian A-list Artistes all play foreign music. Dancehall is still very popular in most African countries. But the only concern is to catch up to Nigeria. There's underlying envy in all the talk about how and why Nigeria's Afrobeat is dominating.
This past weekend, FLAVOUR NABANIA (highlife musician) used highlife to shutdown 12,500 capacity WEMBLEY ARENA in LONDON; Highlife is marketable if well position, Ghanaians 🇬🇭 should learn how its works.
You also forgot that there were many generations of Nigerians preforming all over the world in small stages and big stages to create awareness about African culture and music to prepare the way for today’s Nigerian music stars. People like King Sunny Ade, Christian Essien Igbokwe, Onyenka Owenu, Doctor Alban, Charley boy. Even Fuji music stars like Alhaji Wasiu Alade, Queen Salawa Abedi to mention a few. We have always had Nigerian musicians performing abroad. Afro beats stands on the tireless hard work of many generations of Nigerians and they pay omage to them by copying some of their lyrics and songs included in Afro beats or their style as a fusion of styles to show cultural influences and continuation. The other Africans are just jealous, envious and bitter trying to compare themselves with us like they have two heads and the right to benefit from where they made absolutely no contributions in and rip the benefits without putting in the hard works and investments needed to succeed. They will complain for decades to come.

Are you high?. Is that something to be proud of?. Nigeria s mostly don't sing in English for example Asake and even when REMA does it, it's not entirely English so your point doesn't hold water. It's all about vibes, quality and hype/marketing .Nigerians have done all that and that's why we are known.
Dear Africans if you're marketing your song just knw if your song is not in English or pidgin no matter how hard you market it your chances are limited I think only Ghanian and Cameron artist has that leverage at the moment
Do not mistake marketing for talent and creativity. You can market a song as much as you want, if its not well put together it wont do well. When Makosa was the rave in Nigeria it wasn't due to marketing, it was simply because the songs were different and lively, and had a unique way of dancing to it.
@ani_ndokwa1244 Marketed to who?, a song we didn't even understand the language. It happened at a time when Western music dominated the air waves, R.Kelly, ja rule, Eminem, etc. Naija Afrobeat was non existent. It was the dance move and the vibe that caught our interest. And it quickly faded away shortly after. If it was the marketing, how come nobody listens to makosa again? Is it that there is no money for marketing now?.

What awilo fail to do how to evolve his genre to another level. But back in his Congo dr he is still their rave along with fally pupa, onos b etc.
