How To Turn Waste Into Electricity
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- In this video, we will see how a facility in Istanbul produces electricity by recycling waste.
The facility is capable of burning 3000 tons of garbage and producing 85 mw/h.

I have a question: Is this entire process of turning waste into energy done in an eco friendly way?
As someone who works in waste treatment just a correction. The waste isn't throw into the boiler it's throw into a furnace that heats the boiler.
How much it cost to build this system. I want to do something that earns me profit and does good to environment. My country is beautiful but waste management is worse it all ends in land fills.
@@kks319 It's not economically viable.
@@IceColdProfessional Please elaborate w some data. Cost of plant? Cost of operations? Etc
What's left over ??
@@babagandu Certain emission that are released through a stack and bottom ash that is collected from the furnace and boiler.
As a waste management company in Kenya we definitely need this.
There wildly expensive
Good to meet a fellow kenyan here. 🇰🇪🇰🇪
Sure, we need some like this especially in nairobi so as to reverse dandora.
I want to start a waste management in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱
Any tips ?
I am responsible for the arrangements of a waste to energy project in Iran. Let me know if you have any questions. I will be happy to answer your questions
@@beinthemoment8904please could I contact you through your email?
Wow this is a great initiative.. I wish we could do this to address the rubbish in Solomon islands. But then I believe it will be expensive. I wish there are more feasible and realistic approach to turn waste into energy in the most affordable way..

Like which ones?
Me after watching this: mom let stock the trash
Mom: what?!!
Me: lemme explain you
😂😂😂😂😂
What do you do with the unburnt black waste left after incineration?
Plastic brick's with ash & epoxy furniture?
Does it work in real life
I am citizen of India ,can you send the address of this factory
How much money required to start this project menas machinary for this

3000 ton/day producing 85MW is impossble. Maybe waste input is 5 times more
85 MWh
This is being done worldwide. I’d be surprised at how many cities have one of these facilities already operating. PS they’re mine blowing really expensive hundreds of billions per facility
No-one would build them if they cost that much.
We have a 60MW waste-to-energy incinerator in Dublin that cost $/€500 million.
What about the oxygen consumption to burn this!!!
we got oxygen in abundance
Reckless it destroy the environment
How?
lol u so funny
Mankind has failed successfuly
14-15 years ago here in Australia, my two bosses at a cable duct company I worked for asked me what I thought about climate change and global warming and what suggestion I would give to help the situation, I told them I didn't really believe in global warming and climate change, but if I had to come up with an idea I would get rid of rubbish by way of burning it, and somehow turning the burn into energy, they just laughed at me, and asked what would I do with all the toxic fumes from the burnt rubbish, and I said I didn't know and I still don't know, but I guess Turkey figured it out, well done.
Even Singapore is doing the same
If our government in South Africa can invest in the same technology. We will solve the problem of Powe cut. That we are going through.
Surely the emissions from this are far less than having all that waste polluting the lands and giving off their own emissions.
What about the gasses come out of burning the materials?
I think Sweden did too cause they actually have to import trash in now because they used up all of theirs.
This is also needed in the Philippines. If only the officials care more of their constituents rather than their pockets. 😢
Thank you very much.
To anyone who has any kind of effort to build this.
This a good idea as long as people do the things these people are doing to reduce emissions while also making use of the ash and metals etc is a great idea and the facility also powers itself with garbage is something I don't hear everyday

Why haven't india not yet implimented this
I've been thinking the same for years when I saw this video.
I hope all the developed countries in the world adopt this system.
India needs this technology immediately.
South Africa it's very urgent
Yes bro for sure. Kochi badly needs it especially after the mess having recently happened in Kochi. Kerala badly needs it. Government of Kerala really needs to study this and should approach this in an aggressive way.
Cheers
@@noelchirayilalso mumbai cuz anywhere you go garbage's always there
Adani ji may bring this
Don’t have any dreams or hopes about this, it won’t happen there for sure.
First, you don't throw garbage at a boiler, you throw it at a furnace
Second, fire gives out thermal energy to boil water and turn a generator, not kinetic energy
ua-cam.com/video/4WYR_LqHtCs/v-deo.htmlsi=NkYJhgk-5cCqXCYK
this project is badly need in Bangladesh
Wow that is amazing. This is far better than having it just sitting in piles near where people live, or buried under the ground. This is next level sustainability. Every country should be doing this!
Only rich countries can afford this. But yes, maybe instead corruption, we can get there. The real garbage is the politicians who don't allow it for cheap.

India needs 50 of such plants for benefits of the world and also Pakistan and Bangladesh Nepal

India's waste is of low calorific value . Hence, it is not economical to implement it . Also, WTE projects are expensive to install & operate. Only Developed countries can afford this luxury.

Very very urgent government must see this technique
Gasification,, plasma gasification, supercritical water gasification etc. Would be more efficient than just incineration. You could also use the produced syngas as feedstock for fuels and chemicals.
Gasification isn't profitable.
@@poppy87 numbers buddy numbers, wheres the data??
@@Reotha there's a CNBC video about Sierra Nevada and other gasification plants; it's environmentally friendlier than incinerators but harder to scale.
This is interesting, what does it cost to set this up? Where can I direct the proposal?
About 150 million dollars

This would create millions of jobs in South Africa! South Africa is drowning in waste and has an energy shortage crisis collapsing the economy!

what will we do with the air pollution that occurs if we burn waste material
What will we do with the palstic waste that keeps on piling up year after year???
Congratulation, actually the best solution to avoid greenhouse, it is convert waste to energy. Regards from Huancayo Peru.
Sir/Madam,How to turn waste into electricity?.
Good initiative and excellent mitigation measure against ambient air pollution . How then are you observing the health risks of your employees posed by toxic gases that are produced from burning the waste?
They’re filtered and cleaned and won’t come in any contact with employees
The furnace is isolated from any areas where humans could be. If it wasn't, the toxic gases would have been the least of concerns considering extreme temperatures inside of the furnace
Pakistan should have it. Please let me know how can I make the same in my country.
you need 1-2 billion dollars to build such kind of plant.
Thats a future I want to see, everything being recycled in one way or another
I saw a UA-cam shirt about this briefly a few years back and it gave me inspiration to create an island that had a similar system. Now, I have a fully developed world and a book series in the making based off of what this island does.
Istanbul’s architecture has also inspired the look of my fictional island
May i know about it in details? Share your contact then

Hi
At 0:58 -
_"... without any pre-treatment, 15% of the daily g@rbage, which is 3,000 tons, is bμrned and used to generate electricity"_
At 1:15 -
_"Our system is committed to the fact that the incineration and storage of g@rbage only make up 30% of total g@rbage ..."_
So how much of the total amount is it?
15% or 30%?
I suppose she wants to say that the aim is to get to 30 percent, which currently is 15 percent.
@@kshitizkatiyar3285 , no. Later at 3:04 , she states _"When recycling our w@ste, we need to *cut incineration and storage by 30% because we need to limit the greenhouse gases released..."._
So their aim is to minimise incineration not increasing it.
Hi. God I want you to ask one thing I can shale garbage from India
How much it let know
I have been invited by universities to give talks on WtE and have also written e-books on this subject.
Can you explain
we need a video about world cleanest energy
Love to see more of this, but couldn't waste be recycled into usable materials?
In many (most?) cases, recycling is a very expensive way to use discarded products. That is what limits the practice of recycling.
