- The use of a diplomatic passport by suspended JDS leader Prajwal Revanna, who is facing allegations of sexual abuse, has raised questions about potential protocol violations. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed that he travelled to Germany on a diplomatic passport without seeking prior political clearance. Why MPs are given Diplomatic passport.... lot of MPs are there with criminal cases.... even for private visits?! all at our tax money

All diplomatic passports should be held centrally and released to the bearer only when needed for travel.
I think the Govt of India should change the rules on Diplomatic Passports. It should only be issued to people of diplomatic missions, cabinet members, key position holders like the NSA, PMO, and CDO, and a few senior leaders of the opposition. Otherwise, getting a court order and challenging the court order will give more time for the accused or the Person of Interest to evade further.
Diplomatic Passport should be discontinued to all Loksabha Members except Prime minister & Cabinet Ministers & Leaders of all opposition parties, with immediate effect of declaration of Loksabha election by Chief Election Commission, India.
Some folks are well above the law !😢😢
Why MPs have diplomatic passport?
Diplomatic PP should be given only if key position holding ministers/officers only if they are on diplomatic work.
Rules of diplomatic pushed too far in the name of politics, same applies to lalit modi, nirav modi, chokshi, vittal mallya etc.,
@ 5:01 -- courts wouldn't waste time to intervene since he fled out of pure cowardice... His statement (that interrogation will commence only on court order) is a classic move to rid the case of publicity

Government of India officials of rank upto Director are issued white coloured passport for official visits abroad and officials of rank joint secretary and above vard issued Diplomatic ie maroon colour passport for official visits. However diplomatic and official passport have to surrendered after official visit by officials. Officials can only travel on normal passport for private visits and at any given time only one passport can be possessed.

The difference between diplomatic & official passport isn't that clear.
The white passport is given to all government officials/ Psu employees who are going abroad for any sort of government business whereas the diplomatic passport is given to Diplomats (IFS) and MP's
