I've played Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate so many times I've just gotten too good at spinning wheels. Rarran should really practice that skill before we attempt this again...
One thing I think people don't talk about enough is RANDOM secrets. Like secrets are great when you can think about what you're opponent has and how they've built their deck, but if it's an entirely random secret you just have to bang your head against the wall in hopes it doesn't screw you over
Idk I think its excatly the opposite. I think its soo bad for the card game that you have to know the decks in order to play against them. Like whats the point of a secret if you know: Ok its iceblock or objection. Like, thats not a secret
I get more upset at repeating denying effects: when Secret Mage was good in Wild, the worst part was trying to play against Objection, Counterspell and Flame Ward in the same turn.
I think the real problem is that random secrets is the most fun when not including the op constructed deck secrets, because then they qre secret without 4 iceblocks a game
@@skrill9765 I agree with you to an extent, but I think it's important to note that, since Secrets trigger on the opponent's turn, they're intended to enable counter-play. In fact, they're the only mechanic that does so explicitly in the game, and I'd argue the basic point of them is to test the skill and game knowledge of the players: thus, even if they don't know exactly what Secret is in play, they can still make educated guesses and use adaptable tactics to avoid the worst damages to themselves. And that's where it gets problematic: with the sheer amount of Secrets, and the lowered restrictions on who can get what via cards like Hanar (who's comparable to the Trapped Room from Dungeon Run in terms of obnoxious mechanics, except at least that one was PVE so you could theoretically establish possible strategies), it stops being about skillfully playing around anything, since pretty much _everything_ is on the table - including stuff you can't really do anything about like Competitive Spirit or Perjury, and stuff that outright punishes you no matter what you do, like Rigged Faire Game + Explosive Trap. It's the same issue as Discover, ultimately: it was originally supposed to be somewhat skill-testing, since the Discovers got stuff from limited pools with lower amounts of cards, but as stuff was added and the pools got larger or more random (like "Discover X from other classes"), it's become just pray your opponent didn't get anything good.
Rarran: Do you feel good about this? Roffle: Not really, no... I feel great about this. Roffle has the best banter, hands down. More of this duo, please!
They said TGT and rumble. GVG was pretty good, but now mediocre since its older and less powerful. TGT was weak when it came out AND it's just as old as GVG.
Rarran: Rastakhan's Rumble is a BAD set Me: The rastakhan's meta was really fun and despite its low power, introduced cards that gave fighting chances to underpowered decks in a high power genn-baku format and was ripe for experimentation. Roffle: Rastakhan's Rumble is a BAD set Me: Yeah
Hey rarran there is a secret mode if you got to miscellaneous-> credits on the main screen. In the bottom left of the black you can click to start up a gamemode. I am not sure what the gamemode does but it might be fun to check it out. It seems like one of the puzzle modes. The gamemode is specifically in bottom left corner of the 2022 credits, spam click somewhere around there and a game will start up. It puts you against Faelin with zero cards in your deck and prompts you to pick from two different cards (that often are off in some way) many many different times in a row, sometimes it’s the normal discover, sometimes it’s a different thing like a dredge but it’s always two cards. After picking many cards in a row depending on your answers a cannon will fire cannonballs at ambassador faelin who has 50 health. I picked randomly twice and only managed to deal 26 damage but he heals in between every attempt so if you can’t do all 50 of his health in one go he resets
Hey Rarran you smexy beast, I really enjoy your content where you limit the number of expansions to make a deck. Leads to fun metas that we never had in Standard or wild. My request: Do a draft video similar to the one you did recently but create some fun new combinations of expansion to choose cards from. And dont leave us with just 3 decks, fuck it make it 4 or 5 decks and do a Best of 9 or something like that. Ive been edging for 2 months and 7 days and such a video would bring me that sweet sweet release ive been craving for so long. ~Love, Chris
Love this! Next time just make 3 seperate wheels(Best Average and Worst) and spin each once per person. That way you each get a more balanced random 3.
idea can be 2 sets (and maybe add a set to be "core" maybe classic but only class cards from it) for each deck so say u can make X many decks where u pick the 2 sets no repeat and try and make the strongest u can get for has many decks u can (and try and fit rumble into 1 of them)
This would have been smarter if the, first roll 3 years, and then each roll different expansions from those 3 years so they get approximately the same power level, but it became a great video either way, roffles deck building is just entertaining on its own in scenarios like those, because he creates cool decks that also work well.
The randomness is hard to equalize. I like the basic idea of the challenge, but one too strong expansion may just decide the outcome. Maybe it'd be better, if you pick three random expansions both of you get as a card pool. And all your decks must have 10 card per set. So you are forced to make use of all the cards, which came with every expansion and just can't make a deck with 20 Nathria cards for instance.
How about this for a format if you want to do limited expansion pool - you spin to generate a list of sets (maybe 9 or 10), then take turns removing sets from the list until you have 3 or 4 and you both use the same pool.
It might be just me, but Roffle felt a little quiet compared to you, the volume could be more on a similar level. Despite that, great video and had a great time watching it!
From the title, I thought it would be 3 random expansions picked that you both use. IMO that would be more interesting as it relies on deck building more than just the RNG of what sets each person gets...
Roffle channeling every ounce of RNG luck he has out of his games and into annoying Rarran is the kind of content I live for.

rarran: so... i got gvg and ramble...

We all collectively knew the moment Rag come out at 8 health it’s lethal everytime😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well, yes, given the remaining runtime lol
When Roffle said "I used to play Mono Black Control" I felt on that on a deep level. Me too my guy, me too.
At least it's not Dimir.
Can’t lie that priest v rogue game one of the greatest games I’ve ever seen
BEHOLD
BEHOLD
BEHOLD

Right! So many freaking secrets hahaha it was so funny XD
you already know roffle was holding back with saying aint my grave everytime he played that card
Roffle is the goat of deck building
please bring roffle on more! love the banter with him
Roffle too based with that DK deck
Didn't even need to look at the video length to spoil the fact that you will get absolutely rolled lmao love ya
As soon as Roffle got Castle Nathria I knew that he would make a rogue secret deck because how would Rarran otherwise find out whose grave it is?

This was actually pretty cool, would love to see another episode of it
Omg, another Roffle video?😱

Love this format, more of this with more content creators please!
Love seeing Roffle troll Rarran with his favorite cards that often are more pet cards than meta.
Finally new collab with Roffle. Hope to see more in future
This was a great video ngl, love both of these guys
Love seeing crossover with Roffle yall go great together.
"Ragnaros! With the fadeaway!"
Two best hearthstone youtubers in one video? Yes, please!!!🙏
Loved this custom game format would love to see more
These games felt a lot more fun than the Hearthstone Expansion Series. Cool random format without the lack of synergy that limited packs force.
Fun format! Would have loved to see a little behind the deckbuilding too!
Please please more collabs with roffle. R&R weekly let’s goo
There are 2925 combinations of the 27 expansions out. If they made a format on this, they could really make a unique meta over 2000 times with this.
Two of my favorite streamers coming together :) Loved it!

This was fantastic, please more, Roffle is a great guest too
This interaction was 100x more fun to watch than ecore
OMG ROFFLE AND RARRAN?? am I dreaming? This is a peak content
You could roll 6 or 7 expansions to the pull and then take your turns picking from this pull. That way it could be more balanced?
LMAO at 4:40 they talk about 3 mana Swipe in standard before the rotation announcement. I guess we’ll see if they were accurate
more of this format please
that second game is what nightmares are made of lol
oh man, maybe a mini meme tourney with roffle, danehearth and other creators that go outside the meta-zone, that would be awesome.
YES ROFFLE i’ve been waiting so long for him to come back 🎉🎉🎉
mr roffel pog great to see him again. happy birthday my man
Incredible video, would love to see more like this. Great idea

This series is great and Roffle is nice !
Dude roffle clapped your cheeks😂😂 . Lots of fun tho love u two❤
Bro actually did a video with Loffle 💀
I like this format... I think it would be better if you both played with a mix of the same expansions.
I remember back in the day when roffle was slapping solem around. Now it's rarran's turn
Roffleeee we love this collab
Wow, who could of seen roffle getting amazingly lucky and winning. Shocking....
More videos with Roffle and Reynad pls! :)
The moment I saw Secret rouge I knew that Roffle was replacing again
Ain't my grave!
I knew before clicking Rarran would lowroll his luck
Activates secret, plays copy of same secret, activates it again, complains about having to discard half his hand 😂

Incredible vid absolutely love roffle
I feel so bad that Roffle won’t be able to get his Ghastly gravedigger fix in standard anymore
9:40 Holy shit yeahh 19:56 zzyz
do this with Reynad, all the classic sets he played up until he quit
We need more of this ❤
ey roffle , the giga chad hearthstone player himself
Do it again eith other creators , I would love if this format existed
Not fair that Roffle can afford a deck tracker!
Gald to see roffle and rarran play together🎉
i almost didn't click on this video cause i had no idea what it was. glad i did, banger vid. should put roffle somewhere in thumbnail so peeps know.
Tbh the rule should be 10 cards from each set you get, dope concept regardless tho!
Yet again Rarran comes here and show to us. A BETTER Twist mode them blizzard...
Is it really a Rarran video if Ragnaros DOESN'T snipe him?
But this isn't a Duels run?
Love you and roffle a lot though it would be funny to have a video where you use stuff from when Rarran was writing blogs
This was recorded before new Core Set was revealed right? Good prediction about Swipe
this sounds like nice idea
People need second part
you should more like this
It might be just me, but Roffle felt a little quiet compared to you, the volume could be more on a similar level. Despite that, great video and had a great time watching it!
Amazing content. Love it
ROFFLE COLLAB LET'S GO!!!
Ooh never been this early to a vid, love these challenge vids!!
whys eddy in the description when roffles in the video?
Well that's just a classic rarran moment

Hello Mr Rarran I enjoyed the video I hope u do another one of those silly ones
ok full disclosure I havent finished the vid yet but I feel like I would have loved some insight into the deckbuilding process :)
maybe 4 randm expasions but you pick 3
