The banlist did exactly what it was supposed to do…sell more product.
I was gonna say absolutely nothing, but yeah that too
Yup, i understand them not wanting to hit the core strategy this early as players spent a lot of money on it but cmon best they could do was a scapegoat linkuriboh ban? At least pretend they care about game balance and semi a card or 2 like ocg did.
But according to people and youtubers banning barron and savage would fix everything 😂
How does the ban list sell more product? (sorry new to all this)
linkuriboh was definetly the problem...
I haven't thought of a single ban list as anything other than a vehicle to sell products since 2012. Nobody should be banking on a ban list to end formats anymore. It usually means there is another one to exploit right around the corner.
Like new FTKs in INFO
SE didn’t change at all with LEDE and likely won’t change with the new fiend link stuff. Yes it represents a 1 card SE combo, but so does Ash, which the deck can fetch with the Diabellstar engine and Bonfire, so a quarter of your deck can fetch the card. Consistently isn’t an issue. If anything, the minimal hits to SE are doing the opposite because none of the new stuff is good enough to replace SE. That’s the opposite of pushing product.
FTK'S mean jack this era.
Honestly this is what the game State is when you had a diverse format but had some pro players complaining that they didn't know how to fight against unknown decks! I have no sympathy for any of them because now you got Snake eyes this and Snake eyes that! Enjoy your predictable pie 🥧!!!

At least we got funny memes like Double Nightmare lock and crossout designator on skill drain.

Apparently it enables all Level 1 monsters to be dodged from Hand Traps like Imperm or Veiler. That's why Linkuriboh had to go.
No, just not enough with it.

@@jamespolk6146 the top players couldn't for their life remember linkuriboh is in grave and were imperming/veilering the lvl 1s for their search effect , and have proven that their complaints were a skill issue
This is Snake-Eye's 8th consecutive YCS win in the TCG, breaking the previous record of 7 with Tearlaments.
I still find incredible that even tought there are some really good decks like Voiceless Voice, Tempai, Branded, Melodious, Yubel, etc and yet Snake-Eye still stomps everything. It's time Konami does something, tier 0 is never a good thing.
The deck has no lock, has 12 one card startes and immense space for techs. No other deck is better in any of these points.
Yes they are all good. They are not good as current full power SE. In TCG SE is currently the blatantly best deck at full power. It’s too consistent, multiple 1 card combo routes, zero locks, they can search any level 1 fire, and GY is a disruption pile on top of what else they have in hand + field. They also do their same combo during your turn if you’re unlucky enough to go 2nd and didn’t draw two handtraps.

Me, a Labrynth player, beaten and bloodied on the floor after being whooped by SE 0-4 at locals: "Y-yeah... Haah... Don't worry guys... I got this...."

@dr.c6260 Okay. That's fair. I don't consider snake eyes to be worse than rulers or nekroz at their peak. I consider snake eyes to be like playing against Zoo in late 2016. Deck was very strong but beatable.

Let the tinfoil playmat guy cook.
@@vanguardRailgun924I'm sure he went to a BBQ at the end of the event.
LITTERAL tinfoil?
I can't wait for Konami to power creep the game and we start calling Snake Eye too low-power and inconsistent for the new meta.
The bad part is Konami just announced Ash will be in the 2025 tournament packs, which you KNOW they'll make it an ulti. Count that card out being banned for a while longer.
I mean banning flamberge and/or poplar is still a move
Hopefully popular, since Flambridge was around before the the deck got stupid.
I’m just gonna play WATER Xyz once “Rage of the Abyss” comes out.
I keep seeing people saying Apo/I:P and other strong generic ED monsters should be banned. No it is definitely not the newly released overpowered archetypes which can run 20 HTs, that have 15 one card starters, out of which 10 are extenders and most have a recursion effect, that are the problem. If somebody told me 2 years ago that linkuriboh is a problematic card I would have thought that the person is on drugs.
Oh yeah and don't forget to ban all the newly affordable cards.
Generic ED monsters like those two aren’t healthy long term. There’s no doubt that tier 0’Snake Eye is the problem, but those cards restrict card design and gameplay.
It doesn't matter if these cards are banned, old decks will still not be competitive.
One of the big issues I'm seeing is that outside of labrynth, there's nothing that is eye-opening enough for these top players. HERO, Melodious, Salamangreat, and Branded all have their ability to combat this deck. Unfortunately, this game is a 2-3 turn format where you need to build a board or else you get fucked. INFO is gonna shake up the format definitely with Fiendsmith, Gimmick Puppet, and maybe White Woods. The year of fire might come to a close, but it's at the cost of the format being an FTK format.
Fiendsmith snake-eye is really good… 😬
@darkmagicianfan3423 I'm not discounting that. I'm just praying to the gods that we get a good banlist before INFO releases
Building and theory crafting snake-eye decks is so much fun and skill intensive.
It is so sas to see it break down to hand trap wars...
I hope something will be done against it, but I am also very happy that Baronne and co are gone!
Something I just wanna say is I hate how a lot of people in social media were complaing about SE and stating that Tear was less of a problem.
Tear was just as oppressive as SE is to any other non Tear deck, sure there was more interactive gameplay in the mirror matches but it doesnt mean it was any less fun for somebody playing any other deck. I guess what Im trying to say is SE, Tear and tier 0 formats arent fun and comparing which one was less oppressive is like comparing apples and oranges.
I hope they just ban some key cards of SE or unban Kash/Tear cards so I stop seeing people complain about SE
I'd prefer the former....
Honestly, tier zero decks DESERVE to be hit rather hard
Um.... The city that's shown is not Indianapolis... Its Philadelphia. Center City (downtown) to be exact. I'm from Philly and recognized it instantly.
Philadelphia has that exact same building/layout.
I'm from Indy and I knew it wasn't Indy instantly lmao
I'm not sure what's more annoying. Another Tier 0 deck that laughs at the ban list or that the second best is Lab.
We went from tier 0 to tier 0 to tier 0 wth
I hate snake eyes in masterduel
This is the third tier 0 format in a row. I think if they do one more this game is gonna see some serious decline
Even if you’re counting pre and post-ban list SE as 2 separate formats for some reason, it hasn’t been 3 in a row. The format preceding the first tier 0 SE format was AGOV format, which was insanely diverse. The last tier 0 deck we had before SE was Ishizu Tear. Nothing else we had since made the long established tier 0 threshold of 65% or more of top cut
Even though snake eyes isn't as oppressive as other Tier 0 decks were, we absolutely need an emergency banlist - and we needed it yesterday.
As you are reading this konami should be already posting it. That is how critical it is.
Ban every single Snake-Eyes card on sight. Ban every last one of them. Justice for Baronne.
and for savage
@@guiguithebeastSavage was even more unjustified.
And then what? We get to see Baronne, Savage, Apo, and so on splashed in a future Tier 0 deck? Is it really that difficult to understand that powerful generic Extra Deck negates is its own issue separate from the specific degenerate deck using them? Yes, Snake-Eyes should be hit hard at this point, but Snake-Eyes is a symptom of a much bigger problem with the game, which is insane power creep and Konami using the banlist to push product.

Zombie Master & baledroch keep it alive aided by the waifu taxes sucked out of the players
the vocal people that whines about this game are the ones that spend 20 dollars a month on it and then want everything reprinted to the ground, or every expensive deck burned down.
SE 100% need a significant nerf, but the amount of ignorance people have when talking about that deck, as well as most meta decks, is just baffling.
This game won't die because players never stop playing it.
Even people who have "quit" still have some decks, play online, or watch content.
Most return when their favorite decks gets support.
I took snake eye to a regional a couple weeks ago and topped after literally one night of practice. Every game felt like I had 10 more cards than my opponent. The deck is too free and needs multiple hits.
I’m fairly confident we’re getting a mini banlist at the end of the month at the earliest (read: before WCQ). Snake-eyes wrecking most other decks is crazy already - making Fiendsmith legal the day of the event is where I’m like “nah hit the deck.”
Gee... Konami made an extremely overpowered and versatile archetype... What did yall think was gonna happen. This is why they need to go ahead and ban or limit Snake Eye... like now.
Who would have thought the first time they give fire something it completely blows up everything
That tends to happen when you have zero actual restrictions on the FIRE support in an era where you have plenty of powerful generic Extra Deck monsters. Promethean Princess only locks you into FIRE while she's out on the field, but Links being what they are, that's trivial to get past. None of the Snake-Eye cards lock you into FIRE at all, so of course they'd be used for generic Extra Deck spam like I:P and Apo.
@artificerprime4154 pretty much if they had the restriction of only summoning fire monsters for the rest of the turn, I don't think they would be as strong honestly.
I waited for years for Fire to be a good attribute :( this isn’t what I wanted
Wait if they dont take care if things fiendsmith snake eyes gonna be even worse
What about if Konami started doing something for their banlist similar to what Digimon did for theirs? Basically Digimon has a banned pair section that has 2 components A and B and if a deck is using cards from A then they can’t use cards from B. So say for example Snake Eyes was component A and Fiendsmith is component B that would mean a deck that is using SE can’t use the Fiendsmith cards.
@@kish45 I think this is such a cool evolution for the game and I really want them to implement it.

I have got to be honest I am just playing decks I love, like labyrinth, eldlich, and branded, with friends, and old formats like Yata, Goat, Perfect Circle, YCS Long Beach, and 2016 Monarch PK Fire, and TOSS.
The best thing about old formats is that none of the cards are getting banned and once you have a decent card pool you don't need to buy more.
Why and how did they kinna handle the snake eye problem better in MASTER DUEL?
Remember that pepe was hit in like 2 weeks while zoo was around for almost a year. Its not a new thing. Emergency lists simply doesn't exist, balance hits doesn't either. Its simply "play that for 2 formats and win, then play another thing".
Can we start a petition please to make toons relevant and at least half decent in the meta, not asking for much
Petitions never work, neve have. Anyone that believes otherwise never worked at a real company or corporation.
The only way toons will ever be beyond casual tier is remaking them and scraping their gimmick.
@@soukenmarufwt5224 Ohh 100% man you've got better luck winning with a starter deck, I just love the old school decks and cards too much and wish they were more viable in modern duels
You want to make Toons relevant? Give it a new Level 4 that has added protection for Toons, on top of giving them effects that just dont include attacking directly or banishing but rather disrupts the opponent
imagine hitting sharv to 1 to make sure we get a T0 format
Sadly, even full power Unchained wouldn't have been able to compete with this. Tearlament with Kitkallos unbanned is prolly the only thing that could contend but that's an Alien vs Predator sort of situation.
@@lilpotayto if Tear got Kitkallos back. It’ll literally be Dragon Rulers vs Spellbook 2.0
@@siphemanana2551 Yep. Bystials are still around and the limits make them more impactful, but making reino a one card starter is enough to take the deck over the top again. The deck already got indirectly buffed due to the Banning of baronne and savage lowering the reducing the power of end boards across the board.
People are ignoring the fact that hand traps are the problem because of how many of them there are. There is 3 versions of veiler that just say "negate opponent's monster". Hand traps themsleves aren't inherently a problem but when you can run over 12 of them it just becomes ridiculous. They also arent just there to "help the going 2nd player", they are additional disruptions when you go 1st.
Every argument i see to not address the issue of hand traps is the same as i see from people defending maxx "c" but Joshua Schmidt defended hand traps which means its TOTALLY different from maxx "c" defenders.
I just started master duel after about a 2 year hiatus. I come back to play my heroes... And I'm like wtf is all this?! This game evolved so fast. You can Maxx c someone and they'll pass and then start special summoning hella times on YOUR turn.
Wish they featured more time wizard content. Hoping for another banlist before nats.
I dont understand the people saying snake eye cards need to be banned. The issues are: IP, skill drain, princess, and apo. Ban those cards and snake eye is just like any other link spam deck. Anything harder just destroys the deck.
What would the hits need to be? Access to ash would need to be less consistent so you need to limit: bonfire, wanted, witch, ash, field spell, and oss. The card is so searchable that as soon as you touch 1 card that searches it, the others become played in more copies in each decklist. Lets say you limit ash, the decks just play 3 oak and a fiendsmith engine to make beatrice to dump the ash so oak can revive. Are we going to ban beatrice and oak too?
Just ban Snake-Eye Ash directly, none of those are possible otherwise. Also no, deck isn't dead, Poplar can still do a 1-card combo, however its significantly weaker. (At least I wish they'd do that but the OTS reprint says otherwise, so Flamberge likely will die.)
@@adragonssoul5200 Then rank 4 engines like melodious make infernal flame banshee to search poplar. Poplar will need to be banned too. At that point is it even a snake eyes deck anymore?
Ash just got an ulti revealed in the next OTS, so fall will be the best time to expect an actual hit to the deck. So start learning how to make your Rogue decks busted AF, because everyone will burn off the dice until the fall 🎲
@@nbonasoro Ash Oak Summoning Flamberge gg? Without Snake-Eye Ash that deck becomes absurdly fragile to handtraps, which would be the point.
As I said though OTS reprint they're just gonna kill Flamberge, if you wanna take it a step further, limit Ash, Poplar, and Wanted. I can see people demanding that tbh as a hit similar to Tear, even though I'd say its slightly extreme
@@h3llg3ar They can still ban Flamberge at the least, I'll be very surprised if that thing survives the next list.
What’s funny is I’ve been not playing too seriously, I played a ton during kash and tear format. However, I’m getting back into it, so I heard all the noise regarding snake eyes. Built it on Edopro just to try it out of curiosity of how powerful it is. No shot bricked hard af on handtraps and lost to the dark magician bot💀. Didn’t draw engine for like 4-5 turns😂
I wish I saved the replay cause it cracked me up.
Snake eyes is just too broken
When I can have 2-3 hand traps on turn 1 and two board wipe cards on turn 2 yet they easily come back, you know it’s screwed
I just surrender whenever someone plays it in master duel
No point in wasting time and giving them satisfaction
The way to hit Snake eyes:
Put flamberge to 1
So oak does'nt summon the second flamberge from the deck or hand
Also i was watching the ycs on Joshua Schmidt's Twitch live with farfa, Joshua Schmidt and everybody from the twich
And it was funny seing all the mirror matches and everybody getting tired of Snake eyes 😂
Anyone with half a brain saw this coming a mile away. The problem is way too many people got hyped about “WOOHOO Barrone finally banned!” that they failed to realize
A) SE got ZERO hits on the archetype themselves. It’s still full power unlike OCG or MD
B) You traded two omni negate monsters for two flood monsters
C) Linkuriboh banned would do fuck all
2/10 score for this banlist. Cool they banned generic omni-negate, but that does fuck all for the meta when SE can easily just replace Barrone with Dis Pater lol.
At this juncture, Konami may need to start making hard locks more of a thing on newer decks they print going forward, especially the more potent decks. I don't mean weak locks like you can't Summon X while Y is on the field (Links invalidate that with their mechanics, as seen with Promethean Princess and Sharvara) or you can only Summon X for the rest of this turn (you can just make a bunch of plays beforehand).
But given that they didn't put any meaningful restrictions on the Fiendsmith cards (here's hoping Snake-Eye still isn't at full power when that shows up), I have my doubts they'll do this anytime soon.
All of these tier 0 formats all at once oh my God this game is screwed
It's almost like I was right and overpowered advantage engines are more of the issue and hitting generics disproportionately hurts rogue decks or something.
Welp, who is ready for people to fool themselves and say The Zombie Vampire is more of a problem than the Horus cards?
I mean, two things can be true at once.....
But ANYONE thinking banning those cards fixed SE was lying to you and themselves
Tearlaments, Kashtira, and now Snake Eyes. 3 broken archetypes released in a row. If you have game breaking cards like these back-to-back, it will suck the fun out of playing and people will quit the game.
I love smoking snake eye hash
Yeah, you’re being way too kind here. Maybe for monetary reasons or for sponsorship on the back end, idk I’m new here. But to hear you say “this approach didn’t work” disgusted me. Of course it wouldn’t work. It’s 2024, the game is 25 years old. If you don’t think Konami knows how to make an effective banlist then you’re a fool. This banlist was 100% profit driven, and will go down as a stain in YGOs history.
Gotta love the decision making over at komoney
Y'know, in 2018 I left Yugioh when I realized that I wasn't having fun and that the formats always devolved into degeneracy. Here we are in the year of our Lord 2024 and literally nothing has changed.
Like we didn't see this coming. Konami thought hitting Baronne and Savage would change things😂.

I can’t wait for white woods
The Snake-Eye archetype is ruining the game. Across OCG, TCG, and Master Duel. Konami should be embarrassed of themselves for destroying their game like this. Meanwhile people are wondering so many players are quitting the game for good, and going to other card games. Both pros and casuals alike.
"oh you play snakeeyes what a coincidence me too"
btw snake eyes ash is getting an ulti reprint so no ban i guess
This is why i didn't liked the previous list
It did so much
Yet it did nothing
Nothing at all
It did kill off the mid-tier/budget decks that relied on Barrone/Savage to protect their cards like Swordsoul and Dinosaur so that's something, I guess.
In OCG Maxx C is what keep decks like snake eye in check but in TCG combo decks cannot be allowed to exist.
I like Snake-Eyes 🙃
Don't worry guys, Konami will reprint Snake-Eyes and then neutralize it along with all the other competitive decks to sell the new set. After that it will be banned.
And nothing will change because the meta never goes backwards.
If people hate snake+Eyes than cone and join me in one piece where the only drck you have to worry sbout is Red/Purple Trafalgar Law
My problem with hitting ONLY staples from the extra decks is that it hits other decks just as hard and there are always more options.
And then what's next? Ban those options until the only options left are functionally vanillas with utility effects?
Obviously Snake-Eyes will just go down the list of staples and eventually transition from a combo to a control deck. Once SE is done and over with, a new deck with one boss that's a bit too strong is gonna take over completely as Konami has kinda been building the game around the fact that these generic extra deck staples exist in the first place.
The game is broken and Konami has only been applying band-aid fixes and now once one problem is removed, there can and there will be more that come from it.
Hilarious how banning princess just solves about most issues with snake eyes, yet konami went "nah linkuriboh is clearly the problem here"
This game is a joke , no one regrets about quitting
Why are we still here? Just to suffer?
Every night, I can feel my leg and my arm, even my fingers. The comrades I've lost, the game we lost... It won't stop hurting. It's like they're all still there. You feel it too, don't you? We gotta make them give back our past.
To take back everything we lost!
You should be on Metafy!
No. I don’t like snake eye. It needs to get banned.
Aaaaand thats why im taking a Break and going to play Pokémon.
This is how card games die.
Am just going to play Bakura’s occult deck since more of his cards had been released. Hell I might add a graceful charity and pot of greed because IDC anymore am playing YGO my way. The way I grew up with
Hopefully this deck gets crucified on the next list.
It won't. Cry more though
Most of us wish.
But it won't, SnAsh was confirmed for an OTS ultimate rare.
At this point, Konami should just dump every card off the forbidden and limited list. Just to really mess everything up. That would probably be more fun then just tier zero decks running around and destroying everything. But limit it to only that ycs. But that's not going to happen, would be funny though.
Everyone would be running Tearlaments
Lets be real, Komoney isnt going to release any kind of banlist to hurt their prized deck Snake-Eyes. Especially since they get MORE support in Infinite Forbidden.
