City pop is such an underrated genre. It makes you feel a sense of nostalgia and comfort, especially with songs like this. Yukika nails the city pop genre so well along with Yubin.

@Eric Ellefsen I actually mean both countries. You see, back in 1985, the Plaza Accord started the Japanese Bubble with a smashing effect. The Plaza Accord also extended its currency value to South Korea, then a dictatorship. This allowed the Korean economy to literally surge from 1985 to 1992. At that time, here in South Korea the fashion, music, and media, all changed to one similar of the Japanese excess as the optimistic mood here increased. That then died out through the 1990s, but there was no major crash like the one in Japan in early 1992, until 1997 when finally the economy collapsed and fell flat.
I see I'm not the only one coming here to publicly mourn the end of her contract with Estimate Entertainment. They were such an amazing match for each other, and we can only speculate as to why she decided to not renew her contract. Maybe she'll do gaming streaming from now on, as that seems to be the direction she's headed. I want her to be happy doing whatever she wants, but this is a devastating loss for all of us City Pop fans. I have been listening to City Pop since the 80's (when I was a teenager), and over the decades, there has NEVER been anyone like Kika, with her lovable and down-to-earth personality, pleasing vocal tone, or the perfect match of a company like Estimate, with extremely high quality songs and impeccably tasteful productions and creative direction. Soul Lady is my album of the year and it's probably my all-time favorite City Pop album, which is saying a lot, considering I've been a huge fan of City Pop since the mid 80's and have heard so many City Pop songs and albums. If this is the end of her career as a singer, then I just want to say, THANK YOU, Kika, and Estimate Entertainment, for the masterpieces you have created together that's brought so many people so much joy. Kika, wherever you are, whatever you're doing, and whatever you choose to do in the future, I wish you happiness.

I’m so proud of Yukika. I’ve missed her so much and just kept playing NEON and Cherries Jubiles on repeat. She’s going to DOMINATE the industry. Really interesting concept---i think here she's continuing her dual identity from NEON: She used to be a big city pop singer in the 80s and right now her imagery lives on but she is also currently living in the present (bc she's a time traveler) and lives in anonymity because nobody knows she's actually the famous singer.

I’m so proud of Yukika. I’ve missed her so much and just kept playing NEON and Cherries Jubiles on repeat. She’s going to DOMINATE the industry. She carries such a unique sound and each song is a different vibe. NEON drew me in and the soul she puts in her music and her videos is what made me stay.

Really interesting concept---i think here she's continuing her dual identity from NEON: She used to be a big city pop singer in the 80s and right now her imagery lives on but she is also currently living in the present (bc she's a time traveler) and lives in anonymity because nobody knows she's actually the famous singer.
