  • It has come time to part ways with a very special horn of mine..
It's a very rare Inderbinen handmade soprano saxophone, one piece, slight curved neck - one of its kind. This horn was handmade for me in Switzerland by Thomas Inderbinen.
    Check it out at:
JL Woodwinds - 223 West 36th Steet, New York, NY.

Your playing is phenomenal! That is truly a 1-of-1 horn. Beautiful look and sound to it!

Mr Roberts I'm deeply touched by your beautiful approach to the soprano. And I have to admit to be very picky about that - almost a snob. You have all the beguiling sense of beauty and sound and this instrument seems to deliver everything perfectly. Why on earth are you giving it away?

Thank you for your kind words! I love this horn so much, but I've had to make some hard decisions about what I actually need (tough times.. $$). With airlines these days, the fact is I never travel with my sop, just my mouthpiece. I too am very picky about my sound on soprano, but over the years I've been able to sound just fine on some very inexpensive loaned instruments. I'm also parting with my Manning tenor/sop combo case for the same reason. I really hope it goes to someone serious about soprano playing.

@@toyrobot99ToyRobotMusic It's heartbreaking to hear that a musician of your proficiency, with so much taste and talent has to struggle for a living. At least I can confirm your experience: If you know what you do you sound almost the same on every decently working horn. The difference is just what it gives back to you. This world is a mess if first class musicians like you can't keep their instruments. I wish I could provide some help but the situation in Europe is similar. I just don't need to travel by plane so I can carry my beloved instruments with me easier. Good luck in every aspect, you're a great inspiration
