Hi!!!What a lovely and relaxing vlog!!Thank you for taking me to places I will never go...!!!I so enjoyed the dog on the beach!!!❤🇬🇷❤
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
@@SailingKittiwake Take care of yourselves!!!❤♥️
The snorkeling part of your day was amazing. So neat that you labeled the fish in the video and the clarity was so beautiful!
Thank you! We love identifying fish 😁
Agree with Francie and must give you accolades for the high quality of your underwater video. Is that from a Go Pro?
@@gregorydamario5773 an Osmo Action 😀 Thank you! You may enjoy the episode with the oceanic manta ray too 🙂

Lovely “day in the life of.....” idea. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy those rare flat seas!
They're the best!
Looking good. You two really have been making better and better videos. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Thank you! We're trying really hard to improve 😊
👍👍👍Humm Radlers so refreshing! Sail Safe Guys, Ant, Cid & the pooch crew.
Italian Mocha Pots make the best coffee in the world. I spent thousands on espresso makers over the year only to discover their far superior brewing well into my 40's!!!
Yup, better than any coffee machine. To think that some sailors can't make do without a coffee machine and buy a watermaker just to be able to make coffee that way!
It’s great they supply loaner puppies every town should do that.
Yes! We LOVE IT!
Still watching, lots of love from Spain xx
Hi Guy's. Next time you're having a little dive pick up some local shells with inhabitants. Best bait ever. It's local. but if you're targeting schnapper it's a put of what they eat. They are a bottom feeder mostly. So they are cleaners, so is a preditor fish has a nibble here and there on a fish and scaps go to the bottom the schnapper will clean the bottom along with crustations like crab. Another great bait is pipi's & cockles. But I don't think you'll find them in the Carribean. You might. Hope that helps. I want to see you catch something.
Thanks for the tip Earl! We’ve caught a few snapper, or schnapper as I’ll now call them :) we’ve been using hardtails (aka blue runners), a little jack thats abundant here and easy to catch as strip bait, and it’s been working great!
What a great lifestyle. I so envy you guys. Thanks for taking all of us along with you on this absolutely awesome life you two have earned. I realize it's not all fun in the sun and that there are many days spent doing boat maint/chores and repairs and such. But the rewards are well worth it. Thanks again for a great video.
Very true 😊 That’s what we say all the time 😊
Just joined and was so happy with the fact you label all the fish when u snorkel. Thank you so much for that. Not one other Chanel I watch does that. So happy as well to see such a Confident women and both of your love for the dogs❤️love your idea for lunch😘💡
Wow thanks Leanne! ❤
Lovely video guys, great to see your average day in a bay looks like!!! Keep safe..
Great bid thanks. Keep your tender and motor super secure - I lost two there due to local night time 'entrepreneurs'.....!!
Good to see your having fun! Awesome video as usual! Thanks for sharing the adventure! Stay safe and be well! Ryan, thanks for sharing the tips with the sextant on your voyage across the big pond. I’m going to get me one and get proficient with it. Just for fun, the early Boeing 747-100’s had a navigation port just behind the flight engineers seat and a prismated “high tech” sextant could be placed in it to navigate by stars. Bonne journée!
Also, dogs to other dogs.. get the heck out.. these are my people!
Awesome! Thanks Jeremy.
That doggo loves you! You were so kind to them. Now I'm off to check flight restrictions/prices to Bequia, feel the need to visit 😀 Thanks for a great video guys x
Lovely little vid....island food...the snorkeling footage was great...and topped off with playing fetch with the local pooch on the beach....a splendid thumbnail sketch of a lazy Caribbean day...you lucky swine's! 😀
Thank you! 🙂
Fry the wraps in oil - high heat, and sandwich cheese, avocado and tomato sauce between. Messier but so delicious!
Sounds delish!
Thanks for showing the names of the fish.
No problem 😊
Great video again guys. That looks like paradise to me.....do you a swap of UK and rain !!
Yes, we LOVE it here!
Love the videos! Wondering what filter(s) you have on your camera; everything I film underwater is a washed-out blue, unlike your snorkeling @11:07 with its vibrant colors.
I just swim super close to stuff. You only need filters 10m and below. Even then, a light is better.
Great episode, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
As Europeans , in your experience, how do you compare cruising in the Med, in comparison to the Caribbean Islands you have visited, other than cost. Are you finding a preferance, at this point in your cruising journey?. Take care !
We prefer the Caribbean so far. The two big downsides are hurricanes and the cost of life, but the places and wildlife make up for it.
@@SailingKittiwake All along i have thought the cost of living to be higher in the EU zone of Mediterranean.
@@treasurecoastgypsy food and mobile data are a lot more expensive in the Caribbean. Boat parts are very expensive in the Caribbean and if you order online you have to pay duty pretty much everywhere. Marinas and yards are a mixed bag, but in general we haven't found any cheap yards, while in Europe there's a few, scattered around, that are affordable.
I'm so jealous, I'm looking for a boat 😃
Me also searching boat to sail around world
Love the Maldivian breakfast idea. I would add black beans for some savory protein and a squirt of key lime
Interesting to see how your days go!
Thanks Carolyn!
Hi from South Australia
Hi! :)
excellent underwater work... not easy to get those shots.
Cheers Jim! Took me a bit of practice 😊 -Elena
Excellent vlog. Are you quarantined there or have you chosen to stay awhile?
So which do you enjoy more the Carib or the Med?
So far, the Caribbean. Although we'll try to get away for the most active part of hurricane season in the future, if we can - it's proving more stressful than we anticipated.
great video like always. Cheers!
Thanks!
Beautiful undersea footage
Elena always feel a bit bad for woman and their "hair". Its beautiful of course (and us men love it) but don't you wish at times you could get a number 2 on the ole clippers and wash and brush it in less then a minute or two? LOL, as always thanks for sharing and your current anchor (video time anyway realize you're a few months behind) looks incredibly relaxing. Stay safe you two .....
Hehe! Yes! Although I’d look TERRIBLE and Ryan wouldn’t speak to me for a while 😂
Me two 😂
Hey Manfred! How's it going?
@@SailingKittiwake Well, living behind silly masks in THE German/Bavarian hotspot (fourth time in a row since shutdown and other economy-killing measures began over here half a year ago; perks of living in an economically outstandingly vibrant spot which is also a tourist magnet for all those not going anymore to Antalya, Mallorca or Lago di Garda); still can't go to SE Asia where I was about to see, survey and very likely purchase a 40" singlehander boat back in in March (Airline canceled my flight literally minutes before check-in, was standing in the row about to drop the suitcase when it happened), was planning fixing her up and be ready for setting into the NE Monsoon in December westward towards Sokotra and the Red Sea ... the very country still isn't having anyone without their passport though, no matter coming via plane or from a neighbouring country via boat, let alone coming from one of the garish hot spots in terms of plague, so thinking about alternatives already.
Don't know how international sailing will develop in general though, tbh. Hope You stay well and healthy and won't face too silly measures when changing countries/jurisdictions over there.
Red corona tape must be still pretty bad in Panama what I hear, and even worse in the Pacific.
I hope Your family in the Bergamasc region is all well and had no fatalities during the hot phase there, Elena.
Weird times, nothing's as it was half a year ago, so ... how am I? Still adapting I'd say.
Why get up with sunrise? Not sure what's the benefit is. It's not like you can go and do your shopping early or something like that. At least not in the areas of the Caribbean I've been in.
Working in the cooler morning temperature 😊
:)
👍👍👍👍👍
Coment for the Algorythm
Why you paying for food do you guys not own a spear gun?
It's illegal in most of the Eastern Caribbean....
Not a bad life ;-)
It's amazing!
plantains with black peel cooked very slowly with lid on. a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon towards the end. a bit of butter never hurt or at least that is what i try and tell myself. 😉. or toss some black and ripe plantains on the coals of a beach fire until the steam comes out. nothing more, naturally sweet. BTW yet another great edit 🤙
Have you tried collecting clams from the beach? 6 inches down at the low water, could be a cheap meal!
Spent since Monday trying to watch your video uninterrupted by our 8 week old puppy. She’s tired and gone to sleep so at last! Lovely video and pleased to see you made friends with the local hounds. As always, I wish you fair winds, tides and currents.
Another great video guys! Great to see how the “average” day pans out for you guys, although with a boat I image there is no such thing as an average day… The sealife looks amazing, a perfect place to explore. Glad to see you finally got the package, annoying about having to play the tax! Keep enjoying yourselves and can’t wait too see more of your adventures!
Thanks Andrew! Hey ho, essential boat parts are worth the tax. Anything else can wait until we can fly home (hopefully next summer). We're loving the Caribbean and are excited to share more episodes with you :)
Hello I watched an older video of yours about the 12v watermaker you installed. How has the watermaker been working for you and would you recommend it so far?
It's been very good. Like any watermaker, it needs parts replaced every now and then. We found the seals/o-rings needed replacing on ours, so we'd recommend buying some extra seals and download the video tutorials from the manufacturer's website before going off grid.
Beautiful guys, that sounds like a day I could get used to. I must admit I used to enjoy the seasonal food in the U.K. looking forward to Strawberries, new potatoes etc. Now it is easy to get pretty much anything all year round but the flavour isn’t there when something has travelled half way across the world to get to the supermarket. Look forward to your next episode,as always. Stay safe. Andy UK.
Very true! Although to be totally, utterly honest, as we always are, the produce is way nicer in the UK than in SVG 🙊 Maybe once we get to a fertile island it'll be better. We think we get the scraps they don't want to export 😁
Wonderful video! True and real
Elena - Looking luscious again throughout the video. Lucky Ryan.
Love the video! You've got a new sub because of it :) on what island are/were you staying during this video?
Thanks so much, Kjell! We hope you'll like the channel. This video was filmed in Bequia.
Very Nice, I was there last november sailing on a Cat. Hence my new interest in sailing. Enjoy the Caribbean!
Awesome! Hope you can do it again 😊
Wow 5 months of video back log that's a lot of HD space.
And thank god we have it, with the Atlantic crossing taking 1 month and being sat in Bequia waiting for that boat part for 2.5 months. After this video, the back log creeps up real quick. Very glad we don’t have to release “empty” content.
Is there no way you can reclaim the £50 because thats the couriers error, not yours?
We tried to argue about that, but the custom's official said we could either pay the duty or not get our boat part. We personally think it's a bit of a scam - this mistake happens all the time according to other cruisers.
@@SailingKittiwake you got it.
a puzzle piece of your daily life, a still sea and a ripe avocado in season make for a down low slow day. perhaps mister snapper did not come to dinner but the gleam and excitement in Ryan's voice about wishful possibility is my dessert on dry land for those of us who love what you do. thanks for being you. Ryan's day in his life with his charming and kind wife.
Thanks so much, William.
That reef looks like someone designed it, nice!
Im starting to like Mondays :)
Looks ideal...just hurricanes to worry about.
Have fun 😁
Hehehehe! Just 😁
OK....I'm going to explain how you Cook and eat (Plantains) !!!! LOL There are a few way's. when yellow like you had great for breakfast, when a little greener cut into medallions and fry in hot oil half way..... Drain on paper towels, and crush them flat with a pan, then return to oil and finish frying till golden brown.... they are crunchy like a chip, then make marinade to drizzle over, Take Olive oil, fresh crushed garlic, salt pepper and white vinegar or red wine vinegar if thats what you have. ( I have used balsamic as well in a pinch... I like it...lol. Or my favorite Ketchup. Eat hot with fish, pork chops, chicken, rice and beans..... anything really. hope you try it and like it. Good Luck guy's can't Waite for the next adventure......
Mmm love the "little greener" method sounds delish!
@@goleafsgo8496 Hope you like ....Cut the medallions about 1" thick or 1" 1/2 thick cook half way and crush with the pan then fry till brown....It's a healthy sized chip...Olive oil fresh crushed garlic ,salt pepper to taste, even a little oregano, and drizzle.....then a little ketchup....YUMM... I might make some tonight...Good luck
It sounds delish for a treat dinner. Maybe once we’ve ditched the Atlantic crossing weight 😁
@@SailingKittiwake LMAO....Well unless you start working out ,that might be with you till Australia, if your not careful....
Great video. Love the music.
Thank you!
11:54 The hammer and the coconut made me chuckle for some reason
Log book just arrived, I look forward to trying your format :)
Thank you so much!
Strange coincidence. I had fried plantains for breakfast this morning. Mine were cheaper though. Growing in the back garden. I think mine are maybe a bit sweeter than yours, I just eat a yellow one, and it was delicious. I think the frying maybe reduces the sweetness? However, my swimming pool is further away than yours (about 4 mins walk to the Med). Your swimming pool looks amazing. Thank you for your lovely videos. You both are great.
What a coincidence! Plantains get sweeter as they darken in colour 😊 Thanks Neal!
Great you have sailed from the UK to the Caribbean, most sailing channels just sail around where you are for eternity. Free Range Sailing are doing laps of Australia which is cool and Uma have sailed around where you are until they sorted their yacht out and are now in or on their way to Norway which is cool. I am enjoying watching you guys.
Thanks Joe! We sailed all over the Med, too 😊
Sailing Kittiwake yes, I haven’t watched that yet, too engrossed with your Atlantic trip and what you are doing now. You are the best crew.
@@shieldaigbencher thanks ever so much, Joe!
why do you lift your dinghy?
Mainly to avoid barnacles forming on the aluminium hull - we were in the same anchorage for 2 months+ for Covid. It's also to prevent theft in some dodgy spots - we can lock it to the rig.
Sailing Kittiwake my biggest fear is when you come back from your land adventure someone’s has taken it. 🌈⛵️💖
@@paultabone2010 that's why you always lock it. We don't leave the dinghy unlocked unless we can see it from where we are. And that was in Europe, too.
I dont understand why do you have to wake him up at 615an???? Your in a boat not going to work
We work indeed, as seen in the video 😊 It’s cooler in the morning, so it’s easier to sit in front of a laptop then 😊
First 🤪
