    Love watching these demo's. Went out today to buy a Daystate Revere but ended up getting a HW 100 KT 177. Once I picked it up and felt it I my shoulder, I knew that's the one I would buy brand knew. Absolutely beautiful.

    I purchased a mint condition second-hand one about a year ago & could not be happier with it. Laser accurate, I like the weight & the way everything works (lever, mag) and the trigger is so light. Very quiet too.
    The guy I brought it from had two mags & four 3-D printed ones, which work every bit as well as the original metal ones. Worth buying a few extra online (e-bay etc...) as you can then go through a whole fill without having to reload. I'm getting out all 84 pellets in .177 without losing accuracy.
    The guy I brought it from was an ex-army armourer & seemed to know his stuff as he had a collection of air-rifles, rim & centre fire guns in his garage workshop. He recommended using the JSB Jumbo Diabalo as he'd found the HW-100KT likes them the best & they've been doing the business for me.
    My only complaint is that it makes shooting too easy, so I take my old

    Thankyou Richard for your info , first air rifle ive bought since last shooting in mid 80's is Weihrauch hw95k, beautiful break barrel ! second rifle and first pcp was, and still is the hw100t. Fabulous accuracy and German engineering. Love the informative vids. Looking for my 3rd rifle next summer, probably be a Daystate huntsman revere in .177 although I like the air
    arms S510, but dont like safety being on trigger. Keep up great vids and safe shooting.

    I'm new to air gunning and hope to buy one soon. One of the aspects that I am weighing while watching videos is the sound level while shooting. Your background music makes it difficult to get a grasp on the sound level while shooting. Just a suggestion, could you lower the level of the background music to allow a little better evaluation of shot sound level for better viewer evaluation? Maybe even consider providing a decibel reading.

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  4 роки тому

      Hi Duke. Thanks for watching. To be honest, I think that a recording with a microphone would give you a false impression of noise level anyway. Most 12 ft/lbs rifles fitted with a silencer are pretty quiet. In fact, the impact noise is usually louder than the actual shot. The HW100 with a Weihrauch silencer is particularly quiet.

    Hi Richard. My hw100kt is arriving Saturday! Now I've ordered a hills mk5 to fill it when it runs out but will the hills pump fit or do I have to buy a compatible adapter or will the gun already have one?? Atb David

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  Рік тому +1

      Hi Dave. Now the long wait! Your rifle will come with a fill probe. You can screw it directly to the line on the pump but that will make it a lot harder to use the pump with any other rifle (as you'd have to unscrew your HW probe each time). You might want to try a quick fit adapter. You probe screws into the end and then the adapter snaps on and off the filler line. They don't cost much. Call Best Fittings on 01747 312672 and tell them what you're after...Have fun! www.bestfittings.co.uk/shop/quick-coupler-kits-and-parts/plugs/best-fittings-qc03-quick-coupler-plug/

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  3 роки тому

      Hi Ashley. Thanks very much. I'm not sure the longer barrel versions would necessarily give you much better accuracy in practice. Maybe if you are shooting over long distance and your technique is flawless. I know some K owners whose rifles are extremely accurate. The other thing you should consider is shot count. The HW100S and HW100T offer 100+ shots per fill whereas the K series are 50-75 for .177 / .22. Thanks for watching.

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  2 роки тому

      Thanks very much. To be honest, most if not all PCP rifles have issues with 'o' rings failing occasionally - its simply a reality of having to contain all that high pressure air. The HW100 is no worse than any other rifle in that regard, and a lot better than most in fact. The HW100 is rightly regarded as one of the best PCP rifles available.

I'm not restricted to 16 fairy/unicorns (or whatever unit you brits use to measure energy) and until i use ammo that is light enoug to crack the sound barrier it isn't loud at all. I've farted louder, than the hw100 shoots. Why do you need a silencer on it?

    Always have a good look at these ,I'd really love one but ...I hear so much bad press ,losing pressure is the main one ..low shot count ..I hear u can get one then send it off to be tinkered with ? Love a black tactical rifle ..I've only ever had lam and walnut stocks in the past with other rifles ...I'm looking for my forever pcp and could get the fx crown or bantum sniper xr..but I like the look of this ..how far behind would this gun be ?

    • @markveganism5003
      @markveganism5003 3 роки тому

      Aslo with the more expensive guns ,the added shot counts come with the big ugly bottles which dominate the rifles ..so the low shot count is a double edge sword, its a bummer ,but it makes for a better looking rifle imo...people that own hw's seem to think they are the greatest rifles ever made when working properly

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Mark. Don't be put off by the boo boys. If you ask enough people you'll find a horror story about nearly every brand of air rifle, but you'll find plenty more telling you pleased they are. You could buy an HW100 and have a problem, but you could buy Daystate, FX, Brocock , Air Arms - that's why they come with warranties. The HW100 is one of the best-selling and most popular rifles for a reason - they are extremely good. I have a 2006 HW100S. I've had to replace a couple of seals during that time, but I've had seals go on plenty of other rifles as well. It is laser accurate and consistently 11 + ft/lbs. The KT model does have a lower shot count simply because it is a smaller capacity rifle. If shot count is an issue for you, think about the longer 'S' models; I get 70+ shots per fill from my rifle. If you need more than that, then a bottle rifle could be what you are looking at. Depending on your budget - BSA R10, FX Impact/Maverick, Daystate Wolverine R/Red Wolf, Brocock Sniper XR and plenty more will pretty much last you a tin of pellets. We've reviewed most of those rifles, and plenty more on the channel. Hopefully they will help you make a decision. Again - don't believe all the horror stories. Good luck.

      @@airgunextra thanks for the info ...I've just come across a hw100 which is sold by the rat works pre tuned ,they fit a tench reg ,and a light weight cylinder, they say its alot lighter over all ,and the shot count is between 180 /200 ,now that would cure the low shot count for me ,and taking the fact its been tuned by pros that's the worries of loss of power ect taken away...I like the black hw100 ,they are priced at just over 1000 pounds ...have u heard of these being brought by anyone ? Sounds perfect to me ..but im not alway 100% confident lol

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  3 роки тому +1

      @@markveganism5003 Hi Ratworks do a great job and I'm sure any rifle they have tuned would be sweet as. Hi Richard, thankyou for your great review. May I ask you please, what wins your vote, the Air Arms S510 Regulated, or the HW 100?? Looking forward to hearing your opinion, thanks

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Ian. This isn't going to help, but honestly, I think there's very little difference between the S510 R and HW100. Both are superbly made and very accurate capable of placing pellet on pellet for as long as you are prepared to keep putting air in and pulling the trigger. The Ultimate Sporter (not the S510) has some stock adjustment, which the HW100 doesn't, but that's probably the only standout difference. The good news is that there's no bad decision between the two Ian. Its one of those situations where the heart can rule the head and you can go for the rifle that appeals to you the most. If you can, try and put both to your shoulder and see which one one feels right. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful than that.

I'm so glad a British company has manufactured a fantastic air rifle to rival what Germany are producing. Pardon the pun, you can set your clock with anything German made, its bullet proof.
      The thought, workmanship, craftsmanship, precision etc, that's gone into both these products is staggering. I could sit with either or both on my knee all night and come nowhere near being close to fed up all night. It's like feeling electricity running through your fingertips!
      Just fabulous!

    • @airgunextra
      @airgunextra  2 роки тому +3

      Hi Dougie. Thanks very much. The HW100 is an extremely accurate rifle. Effective range for use on live quarry is an emotive topic though. Many people will tell you they can knock pigeons over at 60 metres all day long. I've yet to see someone do it on command though. Effective range is the range at which you can put five shots through a 10p piece - with no practice shots - from every position you intend shooting from - standing, sitting, kneeling, prone, rested/free hand. Personally, I limit my 12 ft. lbs. hunting/pest control to 30 metres with a .22 and 40 metres with a .177. And only then from a few different shooting positions. The internet is full of people claiming super-long distance kill shots, but you don't see the misses and, even worse, wounding shots, and you don't see the sighters to judge wind. If you can, get closer to your quarry....that's half the fun!

    Just bought one of these in 22 this week in green synthetic after four years of excellent performance from my hw110 st. It was time for an upgrade and a new rat basher and workhorse that would possibly take an odd knock now and then and that’s the reason for my choice in the green synthetic. Granted it’s not as attractive as the wood but this is a tool to do a job in all conditions. I’m a Weihrauch man through and through and I’ve never had a problem with any of them and I like their rotary discs for the ease of loading especially as I have a bit of dexterity problems and these work great for me especially when shooting at night, no fiddling about taking apart magazines like other well known makes do have, remove this rotate that drop a pellet in twist that and all that malarkey, too fiddly for me.

    Too much wrong information I’m afraid. I’ve enjoyed many of your other videos but you haven’t researched this one well enough.

      Sorry about that Seamaster. What did I get wrong?

      You got your designations of k and s wrong, the number of shots in a mag and the shotcount to name three without watching it again.

      @@Seamaster1963 Sorry about that. 'K' stands for Kurz (German for 'short') and 'S' for 'Sporter' - is that your understanding too? And you're right re magazine capacity. I said early on that the mag takes 10 pellets - a slip of the tongue as I correctly said '14' later on. And with regards to shot count, Weihrauch quotes 50 and 110, which is about what I said in the film. The mistake I made was that I referred to those numbers for .22 whereas they should have been for .177. Thanks for keeping me honest!

      Alpha Militaria Yes mate, but you can have a Sporter K (KS) or a Thumbhole K (KT). So it’s not K or Sporter, it’s KS, KT, and the full length rifles are designated S or T. Do you see what I mean?
