    I have the same truck and I love it! Took the family on a 4300 mile road trip with a camper this past summer and my three teenage daughters didn’t complain once. I did install an inverter in the back passenger area for them and seat back pouches. I couldn’t ask for a better vehicle!

    Just found this and it was a timely find indeed! We are looking at a 2024 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi Bighorn edition to pull our 7000# travel trailer. I really enjoyed your video and it has me convinced more than ever that we are making the right choice. Its been a long time since I owned a Dodge truck, the last one was a 78 Li'l Red Express....dating myself here...but Chrysler products have always been good vehicles for me. Looking forward to possibly getting this 2500 and seeing what it can do. Thanks for the video and your insightful thoughts!

    nice video... Traded in my 2018 Ram 1500 for a 2021 2500... I opted for the long bed with the 50 gallon tank. I couldn't find a LB with a 50 gallon tank and the 4.10s but the 3.73 towing numbers are fine for what I need. Love the truck.

    Have a 2022 2500. For me, the seat was too low in the back. Felt like my butt was in a hole. Bought a kit from Ohio Diesel to bring the rear mounting brackets up 2". Made all the difference. I bought this truck to haul a Lance camper so all I needed was the 3.73 rear end. Payload is 3500 with the 6.4 Hemi and mileage us actually better than my Tundra.

    My last truck was the previous generation 1500 tradesman. Im also forgetting to put it into park, that dial and I have a love-hate relationship. I fully agree with you that the fabric seats are really nice. My 2019 1500 has leather because I'm a wimp in the winter (ok not really, I have raynaud's syndrome and arthritis everywhere) and wanted heated seats for our central NY winters. And now that I have the sliding back window, I love it, and have used it to bring some really long trim pieces home. It almost completely made up for having to get the shorter bed. And yes, totally feeling you on the insurance lol!

    I bought my 2021 Ram 2500 Tradesman 6.4L shorter cab in July 2021 for $49k. That same weekend the dealership had a red, white (my purchase) and a silver available. All sold that same weekend. Since then, only the longer cab or diesels (new) have been available for purchase. I got close to $38k on trade for a 2017 4runner SR5 and glad I decided on the RAM!

    I just traded in my 2021 1500 for a used 2022 2500 Tradesman. They must have made some changes for 2022. I don't have a sliding rear window but I have carpet. Also, I use Android Auto every day but it's over Bluetooth. My 2021 required a cable. I'm not sure which gears it has, probably 3.73 but I'm only towing a 10k lb enclosed car hauler so the 4.10s aren't necessary. I prefer the 1500 for daily driving but I still love my 2500.

    I would venture to say that most people aren’t aware that you can order the Power Wagon option with a Tradesman, and Dodge/Ram surely doesn’t advertise that fact because if you know what you’re doing you can spec order a unique and outstanding truck for a lot less money than a straight up Power Wagon.🇺🇸

Cause I need the adjustable pedals & power seat for the wife Cause she only 5' 😅 but also I definitely want the Cummins and center console if I can get it. I have the same Tradesman with the Cummins. I couldn't see paying more money for the higher trim levels. Next thing you know they'll have one with a bidet in the back seat for another $10k. I bought my 2021 one year ago and a 2022.is now going for $8k more. They have gotten so carried away with all the trim levels and all the bells and whistles on these trucks. I just want a truck to tow my trailer. The Limited trim level is now 40k more than I paid for my Tradesman and has the exact same powerplant and transmission. Go figure.

  • @jimmywallace2687
    @jimmywallace2687 Рік тому

    No need for 410 if you get the Cummins, 373 will get you 20+ MPG. That 12" screen is awesome (it does have manual HVAC controls as well as the touch screen) it can also do split screen. The 360* camera option is wonderful as well as the heat/cool seats and heated wheel that comes on automatically when temps are cold (remote start and in 10 min your seat and wheel are warm) Curious where you got the tow numbers, the diesel is 20k but 6.4 is 15k per google. Please understand the 2500 is grossly underrated on payload for tax, insurance, and regulatory reasons. NOT due to any single component being close to its rated capacity. The 5th gen Ram 2500 has the same tires, wheels, brakes, frame, axles, motor, transmission, and transfer case as the 3500 srw std output (only difference is leafs vs coils) This is why so many people are safely towing 5th wheels with the 2500.

    • @NickMango
      @NickMango  Рік тому +1

      Hey Jimmy, the tow numbers fluctuate due to vehicle weight. Not every 6.4 combination is the same. Mine is 17k+ with 4.10 gears. You can find the info on the website. Thanks

    8 speed transmission is outstanding. Trucks I've driven always call for manual shifting even in automatics. The 2500 never needs any such intervention, truck is ALWAYS in the right gear when I'm towing, up or downhill. (NY State, lots of hills)

    I want the rubber floor and even the vinyl seats. My use is a farm truck and you get muddy, and worse. Tracking all this "stuff" into the truck it needs to be durable so the base Tradesman without the carpet/cloth seats/rear window will work fine for those of us who work in less than desirable conditions. I like it, looks perfectly suitable for those of us who work with our trucks. If I am going to splurge on stuff it is going to be stuff to make the truck more work capable. I actually like the look of the Ford better, but the CP4 fuel pump in the Ford is a deal breaker. The GM products in the WT trim are very unattractive in the HD truck. RAM went back to the CP3 in the Cummins so that is a big deal for those of us looking for a long term reliable work truck. Thanks for sharing.

    In my opinion ram truck are beautiful. I have a 17 Laramie and it rides better that by buddies trucks. One is an 18 Denali the other a 15 platinum 250. I think the Ram interior is much better as well. Features are similar between the trucks , fully optioned.

    Great video (to include the other one on 10 things you hate). I rented a Tradesman in GA to support response/recovery in Eastern KY (floods) in the very recent and was real impressed with the truck's overall performance. Agree, feels and rides like a truck; truck stands tall providing great visibility when driving from such a height. Upon returning home - I've become interested and now toying with the idea of trading my 2021 F150 Lariat FX4 5.0. The negatives I'm facing include gas mileage (icw F150), price of RAM 2500 Big Horn w/desired options, and perhaps the one that grabs me the most (ironically) is inability to park a 2500 in my garage (about 5 inches too long). Have always liked protecting my "investment." Curious on your thoughts on my current dilemma(s). Thank you!

    • @NickMango
      @NickMango  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah that’s a lot of negatives. My opinion is unless you need it, stick with the 150. Or unless you have piles of cash and no place to put it. But yeah, gas is going down, and it’ll be back at normal prices by end of year, but the mpg isn’t changing. You could buy a top of line 1/2 ton for the money, if you count the gas savings. I needed mine for payload and mayyybbbeeeee towing. If I didn’t, I’d still have a 1/2 ton. GL Roni 👍

      @@NickMango Thank you Nick for the feedback! I seem to be leaning in that direction. Arguably more of an emotional decision than fulfilling an immediate need (the pleasure and enjoyment of driving such a vehicle). I honestly wish I would have been unimpressed with the RAM 2500, surely would have made this self-induced conundrum avoidable. Be that as it may - I continue to fret at the potential to own one...

      @@NickMango Hi Nick, I enjoy your videos and have turned several buddies
      onto your site. Very insightful and appreciate the no fluff and your sense of
      humor.
      How did you decide between the 2500 gas vs 3500 gas? When buying
      new the price difference is negligible from what I’m seeing, and the difference
      seems to be the rear leaf springs.
      Also, how did you decide between the Silverado 2500 vs Ram
      2500? We are long time Ram truck owners and haulers, BUT I can’t seem to find a
      decent ram dealer in my area that wont take me for a ride with the purchase
      process. That being said, there is a Chevy dealer that through a mutual
      relationship is less incline to take me for a ride.
      I can’t seem to find definitive details from reviews online
      and judging from your attention to detail and research abilities, I’m sure you
      considered the Silverado 2500, just wondering why you went Ram instead? Thanks
