I see the name K Christmas in the credits. I remember a Keith Christmas from my folk days in Bath in the early 70s. I suppose it must be him. I don’t remember this band, but great to hear them now. Thanks for posting!
Brass Monkey were unique in that they managed to add bass (in their case trombone) and drums, without taking it down the 'rock band' route. A powerful and authentic sound, they gave English folk music back its oomph.
Brass Monkey were an English folk band from the 1980s, who reunited in the late 1990s. They were innovative in their use of a brass section which was atypical for English folk music.
The band originally consisted of Martin Carthy (vocals, guitar, mandolin), John Kirkpatrick (vocals, accordion, concertina), Howard Evans (trumpet), Roger Williams (trombone), Martin Brinsford (harmonica, percussion, saxophone)
