I actually like your time lapses. Some building is just too long or full of you trying to figure out what to do that it makes sense to speed it up. Don't feel bad about that.
Also, possible suggestion would be making a nice big central park in the middle of the downtown area and maybe incorporate a lake into if possible (just a suggestion)
Rather than just having all newer-looking buildings, having an old-section of the city would be much cooler and a good tourist attraction. I am a big proponent of having distinct districts inside a city to give it character. I also am all for having more industry and less offices outside of the downtown area(s). After all, Amazon has to get those products from somewhere.
Having the university campus span from the three-way interchange to the ocean would look really nice, and many prestigious universities have waterfront views!
The city is doing really well! For when you build the airport, you should use the airport roads mod with custom terminals like you did in Sedona, which lets you configure the runway layout to the space you have to work with. It also creates a unique looking airport that isn’t the same 2 vanilla models seen in just about every other city.
Love the look of the tv station by the bridge! For the football stadium, maybe try putting it on the other side of the highway exchange. Also try zoning some commercial in the IT cluster to help break up some of the recurring buildings.
Think the ferries cover most of the "inner part" of the semicircle of the bay, but some kind of connection between downtown and the zoo would be good. Perhaps another ferry line would be enough?
Kris subways are faster and ride more frequently. That damn boat takes 20 minutes to get there, another 5 to dock and another 20 to unload and load passenger
I know they do offer speed and frequency, but I'm pretty sure the ferry is still faster than people driving to the other side, so either way they're off the roads getting to where they need to go and I figured that was the main point. I see the point with the pace, but we don't have to struggle through the transporttime of a ferry ourselves and I like the aesthetic of the ferries sailing around and actually being useful. We use subways so often, it's nice that the other forms are "forced to be made to work" for now. Just my opinion.

that waterfront park looks SO good! i love the globe and the opera house, though the lip of that cement by the front of the opera house still looks so weird to me. not just the terrain dip, i think it needs some trees or benches or something.

Your garbage issue is because they’re too far away. If you place incineration plants throughout the city the trucks will be able to make quicker trips.
Also, I would build a hotel near the soccer stadium so people don't have to drive to far to the hotel. And it would relieve some traffic on the roads during games

You should build a monorail bridge across the bay to make a loop. A loop might be more efficient with its time to the zoo? Plus there is just something cool about a being in a high speed train and soaring up and flying over open water haha. It has to be high enough for ships to path underneath, but the rail is kinda unobtrusive so it blends in well I think
I love what you're doing with this city, so creative and inspiring! A couple of suggestions if I may, Traffic manager has an option Vehicle Restrictions, you can use this on the garbage zone's roads to limit the use to let's say, emergency and service vehicles. And a creator named Timboh on the steam workshop has many pre-made interchanges, not saying this to change your lovely spaghetti interchange but for future use when you are just not feeling building one yourself e.g. Other than that, you're the best ❤️
That long off-ramp tunnel from the underground highway (under downtown) could safely be removed now. Since you have the big interchange (near the stadium) serving the same area, in addition to the inner downtown underground highway ramps.
I will say that very few cities seems to have a skyline that gradually increases in height. I work in a an office building in New Jersey, so I have an excellent view of the New York City skyline. Manhattan more resemble a concrete mountain range with distinct peaks in the northern part of Mid Town and in lower Manhattan in the financial district.
I love the time lapses. Anybody who doesn't like them doesn't realize this game, lik emost city builders, required a TON of building. The time lapses save soooooo much time for editing and scrolling through.
For the IT cluster, try dramatically limiting the office space and turning a lot of it into different zoning. Those buildings are super op so you only need a few and it still looks weird having so many the same

You should place the train station next to the monorail station by the main road going to the industrial. Then it makes sense to have the monorail line go up and around like it is currently doing!
The button next to the speed limits button, on president, the one with the car with a red line though it, you couls of baned Cargo trucks & delivery vans from using the road you deleted because you din't want them to use it. After you click the button select the road, get close to it, and you get the choice of what you want to ban or what lane you want them to use.
there's no problem with the timelapse..it adds an extra flavor in your vids..and an addition of a 15 second cinematics will make your videos more enjoyable..
you should see if there is some hotel or other sky scraper asset that has a monorail line going through it. that would look cool somewhere downtown or something!

The name Soccer stems from the UK, where students at Oxford called it that as a shortening of Association Football, taking the SOC from the center and adding an ER, which was common slang for students when naming things in the mid 1800's. It was that name that stuck in America. Also, American Football got it's name from the original name of the sport, being Rugby Football, and thus confusion the world over was born. I'm a raging nerd, so don't ask me how I remember this stuff. lol
Build a cable car or train tunnel from one side of the bay to the other. Completing a transport link around the city and not just the freeway. In other words have public transport from near the zoo to near downtown over the bay
Maybe to put a football (soccer) stadium on the island near Zoo? You have a highway going under it, and you can have a pedestrian brigde from the Zoo to the stadium?
I love the development of the downtown!! I have one quandary, and that is the use of IT cluster. The CS team did a pretty lazy job of the assets available to the IT cluster, so there’s loads of repetition and it spoils the pretty organic (and super aesthetic) feel of the city. I’m sure you can figure something out than just getting rid of it, but if it were me I’d just get rid of it.

Don’t forget a large Central Park in the city, also you can just increase the budget of trash collection instead of plopping down so many recycling centers
Nothing against the campus, but you could spread up the university buildings near downtown! Back in the 80's it was like this here where I live and I kinda like the idea =]. Nowadays it all became museums

YES! I'd start it at the end of the monorail (so passengers can transfer) and add some spots in the downtown area before crossing.

Don't feel bad about the interchange. The interchange to the East of O'hare Airport in Chicago looks like a mess from above, but it's not that bad.

The monorail could travel through the shopping mall you placed. If you moved it back to the corner where the highway entrance joins the city

You should have at least half of the downtown core be offices because that is what most buildings in large metropolitan areas consist of
