Beautiful Kathleen. I’m so glad you joined the challenge this month and already rewarded by selling this beautiful work of art. Love the splatters and the double tuck with mystery. Oh my. So beautiful. 🙋♀️❤️
Thanks so much Dawn! I love it too - that pretty green is my favorite color and I love the dried botanicals. It really made me happy and I'm glad someone else will enjoy it too! Thanks for watching.
@@BeAgainBooks well I’m starting the feel like I might need to do time for all the stealing. Your ideas catch me off guard. I’ve smacked my forehead so many times I think I may have a concussion.
This is an absolutely wonderful created journal, Kathleen! You are very talented in using the challenge projects to be the basis of more and more awesome pages and techniques throughout your work! Thank you! 😀💞
Amazing, how much ideas one can get from one single journal of yours! I had to go through the video twice and will most likely do it a third time to get all of them. So harmonious the colours and set up.Thanks for sharing!
Kathleen, I'm guessing that you really enjoyed making this journal with all of the lovely greens. That first green pocket with the embossing really sets the stage for the rest of the journal--green and lovely. So many fun things in this journal to play with--the fold-out belly band with writing space, the hidden cards that pull out of the envelopes, the very clever double corner pocket that "surprise!" has a hidden journaling space. I think your creativity is sparked by doing these challenges from DearJulieJulie. You really seem to meet the challenge and then exceed the requirements. Loved seeing this flip through so much that I think I've watched it three times now. Julie's pressed flower digitals are beautiful. Love that she collected the items from her yard. Thanks for sharing.
Your comments always encourage my heart Linda! Thank you very much and thanks for all your (repeat) watchtime! ...and I really do enjoy Julie's challenges - most of the time, haha.
@@BeAgainBooks Most of the time...ha ha. Yes, the hard part is when we are wrestling around trying to solve the problem, but the payoff is when we have that "ah-ha" moment. That moment is why we keep doing this over and over again, at least for me it is. I'm glad to know my comments encourage you. Your videos inspire me so much. Thank you.
A stunning journal. Love everything but especially the belly band and double corner tuck with a mystery! Just finishing mine now - hopefully before Saturday 😂
I like the mystery here 2:38 (double corner tuck with a mystery) very much. I am sure I can figure out by myself how to make this tuck but wanted to see if you had a dedicated video for that. I entered ‘tuck’ into the search engine for your channel and found quite a few, will watch them all. Who does not like all sorts of tucks? 😃
I’m very glad you like it Lena! Happily, there are a lot of videos for tucks, but not for this one. I dreamed it up to fulfill the challenge requirement. If you can’t figure it out, please let me know and I’ll try to film it. Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you’ll find lots of inspiration!
Thanks so much for watching Andrea! There are so many videos showing these hidden cards- here is Cathy’s ua-cam.com/video/hJi-GT48HwI/v-deo.htmlsi=63yeofJOgM3MS98v and if you search TY, there are several more that you may want to watch. Hope that helps.
Hello mrs Kathleen how are you, This journal looks so vintage it is very good i love botanical things this have to be my favourite botanical journal bless your hands for making it and thanks for the hard work by the way i have a question How can i make the journal have a story like it was held by someone before me like how do i add this feeling to the journal?
Thank you so much! Creating a mood or feeling is really hard, especially when we use items that are recycled or very different from one another. I think maybe choosing the things to include in the journal very deliberately in a good thing to do. I try to have a reason for including each element I use, whether it matches in color or serves a purpose. I like choosing things that are actually vintage, so there is already a history to the item. If it isn’t vintage, then I try to make it look old. Another thing I try to do is to repeat some artistic embellishments throughout the journal to make it a whole. So using the same stamp or the same stencil or the same colors or images in all the signatures. This blends all the different things and makes the whole look more deliberate or on purpose. I hope that helps answer your question. I was going for a calm autumn mood in this journal, so I chose calm colors - no bright orange this time or red. Color really affects mood. I wanted a vintage feel, so I used old book pages and aged everything that seemed too white. Thanks for the question.
