Its for the best that it's not getting rebooted, the reboot would never be able to live up to the original. Friends and Friday Night Lights are 2 shows that are impossible to recapture the magic of the orginal series.

Just because he was a public figure, doesn't mean his health records and autopsy have to be. The information will go to his primary care physician, and maybe to a select few family members, but that's all. Would YOU want your health information out there for anyone to comment on?
I don't think they'll do a reboot, BUT it could be a way to honor Perry's character. And it would be reflective of real life. People die, people who you love dearly. And then you have to figure out how to keep going afterwards. Unless we're the first to go, we will all lose a close friend/loved one. Sometimes, life sucks.
They could easily do a reboot without them all, and just have them as recurring guests who pop in (obviously not Matthew Perry, but he can still be honoured in their memories). They could do a show with the kids all grown up living in New York (Monica and Chandler's adopted children, Phoebe's triplets, Ben, and Emma).
Having a “Friends” reboot will honestly never be the same without Matthew Perry if they are considering doing it, Matthew was honestly the STAR of the show & with a reboot of “Friends” it just wouldn’t be the same without him #restinpeacematthewperry 🕊️

Wasnt the reboot idea discussed with a diff cast anyway? Cant remember... I cld be wrong, but I thought it was a reboot with a diff set of friends during the same time in age. Thats why LeBlanc asked, "like old friends?" Questioning if Steve meant the same cast, but older. And if thats the case, I agree with Leblanc, for sure. Doing a show about midlife aged friendships would be a bit boring compared to the original. And think about it, we hated certain people they dated, etc. That show would get thru a season and fizzle. That's just my theory though, and no point in having one now with Matty being gone. It would never be even on the right track, let alone the same.

They shouldn't do a reboot for the simple reason that Friends had its time and it's over now, and people should be able to remember it the way it was...I think a reboot would compromise that.
