I have read about this but Im not too moved about it . That writer was talking about some little known right wing online fringe group that were depicting Taylor Swift as their Nazi princess , they have nothing to do with the Swiftie fanbase as a whole and were not even in the general age group of Swift fans at the time and barely even seemed to know her most popular music .Their entire liking of her was based on the way she looked and her dominance of the pop culture . The group wasnt even well known until this writer started writing about them . This was a big news headline. Taylor was feminist enough to defend her own name (in the name of her very self-serving brand of feminism) but disappeared when attacks turned ugly and racist. That’s not real feminism. I can’t be convinced she and her team didn’t know about this. It was a big news story and it took place as a direct result of her tweet defending herself. She has a long history of this type of self-serving and politically tone-deaf behavior.

The writer came across to me as someone trying to build a name by calling out a big name star on something they couldnt have control over and anyway that Taylor reacted that writer would get what she wanted which was attention .

I’ve read the article too and it was clear to me that it was calling on her to denounce these supporters, especially since they claimed she was aligned with their beliefs. Or why not try suing the Alt-Right fringe groups who claimed she shared their agenda? That would make way more sense. The fact is first amendment speech is a thing. That writer was allowed to speculate about Taylor’s silence, especially in this age of “silence=violence”. Also, you call me a white supremacist and I’ll run to the nearest microphone I can find and say “hell no, that’s not me.” White supremacy is the single ugliest thing in our society and to not want to distance yourself from that? That’s just weird to me. The morals of someone who doesn’t feel inclined to do that are questionable, in my opinion. So why did she not denounce white supremacy? Sadly, Taylor is a capitalist first and a humanitarian last. I think that gives us our answer
I feel like there is a lack of holding her accountable among her fandom. Facts are facts and wrong is wrong. I feel like the lines are being blurred a bit too much.
@@MsDiMera2 I was reading about that situation where she took to Twitter to say that a Netflix show, Ginny and Georgia, had made a sexist joke at her expense (re her going through lots of boyfriends). It’s fine that she wanted to stand up for herself in that way, but then Swifties began attacking the actress who delivered the line (a biracial woman) with racist slurs and death threats. This was a big news headline. Taylor was feminist enough to defend her own name (in the name of her very self-serving brand of feminism) but disappeared when attacks turned ugly and racist. That’s not real feminism. I can’t be convinced she and her team didn’t know about this. It was a big news story and it took place as a direct result of her tweet defending herself.
She has a long history of this type of self-serving and politically tone-deaf behavior.

I think there’s a lot that is missing.
Yes Taylor Swift is a great artist and does deserve a top spot on the board, however for them to let her occupy the first 10 spots on the billboard is unfair to other artists. I think they are doing this simply to get under Kanye West skin. Other artist shouldn’t be deprived of their spot just in order to get under ye skin.
