Satya said it himself “Let us compete” they already bought Zenimax for exclusives according to Phil, told them no more ps5 games and returned the dev kits. ABK would be the killer blow “spend Sony out of business” was the motivation until regulators nerfed the deal. Xbox are going down a new path because Gamepass subs stagnated, hardware and software sales fell off a cliff and MS no longer subsidising the Xbox division. Yea I’m a PlayStation gamer and I’m very happy with the output. Bought concord… like the idea of a 5 v 5 shooter but from my view if they would have made the game with some blood perhaps some gore and some more variety with the skins …wicked gun skins and character skins they could have made the game stick and grab more eyes. The super bright colors turned down. I guess I’m saying if Sony created this game but with a more gloomy undertone almost like a post apocalyptic feel or almost a horror movie/game feel to it they could of had a hit

There's really no distinction between a showcase and a SOP except for the fact showcases tend to be longer. I think the branding around Sony shows is inconsistent.
@compostsmurf5519 SOPs have demonstrated that big 1st party offerings can be shown though, which is my point. They just tend to be shorter. For example, the SOP at the beginning of this year, dare I say, was way better than the showcase we had last year. It revealed Death Stranding 2 and a brand new announcement of a Hideo Kojima Produced game for PS consoles, as well as laying out the content we were going to be getting for the first part of the year essentially. The recent State Of Play showed two first party games one of which we haven't even seen previously (Astro-bot). Concords gameplay was officially revealed there, but Concord was announced in a showcase. Both SOPs and showcases have shown majority 3rd party games and some 1st party. There's literally no distinction between them besides the length. And now that there's new CEOS at Playstation they're probably cutting out the redundancies in the naming conventions.

Yea I’m a PlayStation gamer and I’m very happy with the output. Bought concord… like the idea of a 5 v 5 shooter but from my view if they would have made the game with some blood perhaps some gore and some more variety with the skins …wicked gun skins and character skins they could have made the game stick and grab more eyes. The super bright colors turned down. I guess I’m saying if Sony created this game but with a more gloomy undertone almost like a post apocalyptic feel or almost a horror movie/game feel to it they could of had a hit

There's really no distinction between a showcase and a SOP except for the fact showcases tend to be longer. I think the branding around Sony shows is inconsistent.
A showcase will always have and more 1st party showings than a sop which can have absolutely none
@compostsmurf5519 SOPs have demonstrated that big 1st party offerings can be shown though, which is my point. They just tend to be shorter. For example, the SOP at the beginning of this year, dare I say, was way better than the showcase we had last year. It revealed Death Stranding 2 and a brand new announcement of a Hideo Kojima Produced game for PS consoles, as well as laying out the content we were going to be getting for the first part of the year essentially. The recent State Of Play showed two first party games one of which we haven't even seen previously (Astro-bot). Concords gameplay was officially revealed there, but Concord was announced in a showcase. Both SOPs and showcases have shown majority 3rd party games and some 1st party. There's literally no distinction between them besides the length. And now that there's new CEOS at Playstation they're probably cutting out the redundancies in the naming conventions.
