I don't understand making it an 'either/or' thing. I feel the same way about both of them.....I like them fairly well, but neither of them matter. For me, the series is all about Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis. And 5 is a stellar outing for BOTH of them.

H5 is technically worse for introducing the curse of thorn and killing off rachel but Halloween Kills is more annoying, cringe, and obnoxious. Between the two I would rather watch 5 again in a heartbeat. Kills is just terrible
@@TotalMeltdown2 I was disappointed with Kills as well. But H5 did a TON of unnecessary damage to the franchise.
1989 gave us Friday part VIII, Nightmare 5, and Halloween 5. Despite all 3 being lesser entries in their respective series they all do have their moments. Even with all the movies that came after, none ever feel like the 80s again.

Halloween 5 was my first halloween in the theater. Very fun movie! Never will I say it is the best but I will never forget the fun I had with my parents when we went . So for me it's Always in high regard . Scout Taylor Compton is a fine wine I agree . Same for Danielle Harris! Great episode ✌🏻✌🏻

Love these later Halloween movies and have no problems whatsover with people not liking it. I get to have and fun and they miss out. Never worry about what others think, it's like fighting with air, pointless. Someone trashing stuff I love says more about them than the movie anyway. We're all here because we're in the same mindset as you guys. For me it's either 5 or 8 that's my least favorite but I still love watching them and having a blast; I've seen them both more times than any Oscar winner and proud of it.

🔥 discussion about the 1989 sequels of the Big Three & the nature of whiny fans who just can't let people who like "unpopular" films enjoy what they enjoy. If we only talked about the popular & acclaimed movies, the conversation would fizzle out, fast.
One reason the Thorn Trilogy resonates for me so much is that it does go into why all this chaos is happening. And in each movie, whether it be Michael clenching his fist upon hearing about Jamie for the first time in #4, the unmasking in this film, & what the Thorn Cult has him do in #6, all of it shows Michael is doing this not by his own choice. He is tragic in this timeline, while still terrifying.

With this movie despite me liking Rachel in 4 I do think making Tina the new lead hero for Jamie could have worked for most with different execution. I think had the film kept Rachel around for about halfway through the film and had Tina as the party girl for the whole time then killed Rachel for the surprise death and they did the Psycho switch and now had Tina as the lead I think the movie would have flowed better. I do think the Jamie ending in 4 needed some kind of follow up because of how impactful it was not so much her as the killer but there was an idea for her as Michaels sidekick which I actually think could have worked if executed correctly have her as the sidekick then in the end she turns on Michael and stabs him by surprise or something or they kill each other could have worked I think.

I don’t hate Halloween 5, I don’t like it either. Halloween 4 was a streamlined classic Halloween movie with added Violence. I was really disappointed when 5 came out. Compared to curse / 6 though it is way better than that disaster. Thanks.
Hey great show I'm new to the channel. I thought this would be the normal h5 review were it would get wrecked. But no you guys I love it. I'm glad. I did too. I love 4 and 5 I can't say 6 unless it's producers cut. I agree with guys H20 was boring, resurrection was awful. How is h4 or h5 worse then them. The mask in H20 was horrendous. Them cutting out h4-h6 harmed automatically because reboots weren't even a thing yet. Plus like you guys said H4 H5 H6 are on AMC every year. The other movies are all randomized. I will admit I'm not big on Rob Zombie's version but guess what I rather watch those two over H20 and Resurrection. I know I'll get ripped for this but I'm glad I found some fans who like H5 for reasons I did. Mikey and the car, over the top Loomis alone to laugh at makes it one the best movies. I do love 2018 and kills for the record. But I'd pick Jaime over Laurie. And yes great point "textbook fan" try talking negative about H20... They act like it's a masterpiece. Yet the mask changed 5 times in the movie. That didn't happen in 4 5 or 6.. 4 I know it happened twice when he had blonde hair lol. But looking forward to future videos.

Halloween four was always my favorite of the movies with Danielle Harris but I don't hate Halloween five I bought the 4K version awhile back so I will have to watch it again it's been awhile growing up the original and part two were my favorites but not to long ago I saw Halloween three and loved it growing up I had heard a lot of hate for that movie and now I don't get the hate people have for that movie
I think it's fine to personally like whatever film in any franchise that you determine quality-wise appeals to you and I think it's fine for the reverse to not like any film from a franchise if quality-wise you think it sucks. To me, it only becomes a problem when someone is a dick about it if you don't like something cool that's literally fine but you don't have to go around trying to force everyone else to feel the same or get offended because someone else doesn't agree with you on a movie. When it comes to not liking this film most people are comparing it to the other Halloween sequels and how it measures up in quality to them but film fans or so-called film buffs tend to take their opinions so seriously that they try to force it down everyone else throat. When it comes to buying movies for my collection if I'm a fan of a series I will normally buy the entire series even the sequels I don't care much for simply having a complete collection I'm a completist with franchises the only time I want complete a series is when its a series I hate nearly every film that's in it like Twilight which I don't care about owning. I do not however collect multiple copies of the same movie once I have something on bluray I'm done the only way I get another copy is if it's something truly special that has a really cool edition.

I always marathon all the Freddy Jason and Michael Myers movies every Halloween might do the Psycho movies this year to. Anyway your channel is great man I have been watching for years now keep up the good work. I like Dream Child don't love it but I do like it I find the film decent because of its gothic visuals and atmosphere with Halloween 5 truthfully while I like some visuals I hated how quick Rachel was killed and the Tina character ruins the movie for me honestly I feel like I would like if if she was removed. Jason takes Manhattan I find OK don't like it but don't mind it the movie is OK for me I like Jason in the city but there isn't enough for it I actually like the toxic waste in the sewers because it fits the B movie New York vibe which I like but I don't like the little kid Jason ending. I actually prefer Halloween 6 to Halloween 5 I find 6 an alright 9os Horror film.

I liked Halloween 1978, Halloween II 1981, Halloween III Season of the Witch, Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5 The Revenge of Michael Myers Halloween 6 The Curse of Michael Myers Producers Cut, Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills and I agree with you guys I like Halloween 5 it was great I liked in the scene to when they showed Michael Myers having the thorn symbol on his wrist and when they showed the man in black even though it didn’t have an explanation until Halloween 6 Producers cut. I liked Halloween III Season of the Witch to it was part of the franchise even though it had nothing to do with Michael Myers and most fans like us wanted him back and including the producers and I give shoutouts to you guys on my UA-cam channel now on my videos you guys should let me be a guest on the Uneeda Horror podcast in your next episode we should talk about Halloween Ends and other horror movies to. When they make Halloween 6-8 on 4Ks I will try to get them and I could try to get 1-5 on 4K because I like there artwork. The producers cut of Halloween 6 The Curse of Michael Myers did a good job explaining a lot than they did in the theatrical cut.

Actually apparently Halloween 5 cost $6 million to make and it barely made a little over $11 million so it might have broke even but not much more! I will not buy RZH2 on 4K, I believe Paramount has the distribution rights to Halloween 6, H20, Resurrection and the remake but I believe RZH2 the distribution went to someone else!
No it didnt. I dont know where that came from because I have heard that too. But it was reported at the time it came out that H5 had a budget of $3M.

@@entertainmentwizard2703 Well, I go back a ways, haha. Back in 1988, Fangoria magazine listed the budget for H4 at $3.5M. In '95 they listed the budget for H6 at $4M. However, Hellraiser Bloodine was going through production problems at the time, so reportedly $1M was slashed from H6's budget and used to finish reshoots on Bloodline. So its possible that H6 had an initial budget of $5M but was then reduced to $4M.

Easily one of the most disastrous horror sequels ever. They fucked it up so bad it took 6 years to figure out what to do. And basically H6 was stuck in a corner trying to explain all the bizarro shit the director of 5 did. H5 took the series in such a ridiculous direction it is essentially the only reason we ended up branched off into a different timeline with H20. There was nowhere else to go. Who comes to a franchise on its 5th film and acts like they couldn't care less what came before? Akkad should have fired him and saved the franchise.

They give us the most logical continuation of Jamie’s character, having her be traumatized and institutionalized after she attacked her adopted mother (rather than her being a psycho child serial killer).
Michael, Loomis and Jamie are all having to face their crises head on. He’s Jamie’s uncle, he IS human, and he’s driven Loomis insane.
I could go on and on. This movie didn’t take the franchise into unforgivable routes. They introduced the thorn symbol, but gave no explanation for it. If anything, they gave the makers of H6 a massive sandbox to create whatever answers they wanted to. It wasn’t tied into any lore. Do whatever you want with it. But that symbol is such a minute part of this film, it’s almost insignificant.
Halloween 5 was very much in line with slashers of it’s time.

The man in black shows up with the same tattoo. What are you talking about? The resons for why this was a total catastrophe are almost endless. Michael is so far away from what he was intended to be in the original Halloween its laughable. He stands out in the daylight like some random perv, he looks ridiculous, he cries. He is not Michael in this film. He is not this this unstoppable force lurking in the shadows, he is a big goofy idiot who suddenly has feelings. He is whatever Girard wanted him to be because he didnt care about the series, only HIS movie. The Myers house is a joke. Loomis was written in a way that made him borderline unlikable. Tina is God awful. They killed Rachel about as unceremoniously as they could after she was one of the leads in H4. They also wrote her character in a more ditzy way, which is not how she was in 4. The writers had no clue what they were doing. Literally. Infact, they didnt care! They basically just left a big pile of shit on H6's doorstep with a note saying "clean it up." Sorry, like it if you want, you're entitled to your opinion, but I was around when these movies came out. H5 stopped the Halloween train dead in its tracks.

Halloween 5 is the arthouse Halloween movie and is two steps below Giallo in tone and spirit. Why exactly do you hate it, specifically? Also, the crying aspect works with the story- the 'human side' of Myers that DOES remain is probably filled with regret and grief after once Jamie calls him uncle and asks to see his face. Albeit briefly, the human that remains behind the madness can sort of peer out and acknowledge the situation and the little girl he's been trying to kill; his own flesh and blood. This is why he abruptly rages back into the embrace of evil.

@@TheJustin905 H5 is not just bad, it is literally the beginning of the end for the original timeline. H5 was catastrophic for the franchise. Remove 5, and H6 would have been a COMPLETELY different film and may not have resulted in H20 ignoring everything in 4,5,6.
