Yup a Karen , anything to delay the court outcome of her crimes. She's playing games with the court system. I speak both languages and know people that speak less English and never have asked for an interpretation . Charge her for the court waste of funds for her BS . Fine her !!
I disagree with the Karen call here. A Karen would demand an interpreter and then get indignant and feign being insulted at the court's presumption that she needs one. And then go on to show her English wasn't good enough and that she actually needed one after all, yet still continue to refuse having one.
This lady just made a sarcastic remark about the judge (in English mind you), and in her defence, is smart enough to realise that it's easier to accept the interpreter than to have to explain her poor behaviour to the judge.

Mike the pause was bc the judge was making the interpreter repeat everything she said (to be smart I’m assuming ), except for that one time, so the girl was waiting to see if the interpreter was about to say what the judge said. Not bc she didn’t understand, I’m pretty sure it was bc every other time the judge cut her off to have the interpreter speak
My granddaughter turned 16 in February. She has graduated high school, has a driver's license, bought a car from babysitting at age 15, goes to college, has 5K in the bank that she earned on her own, has a job working 5 days a week and also has her own side business where she bakes desserts on demand.
At age 16.
My 17 yr old grandson has all of the above, minus the babysitting and baking, works at the local church as a handyman as needed, and owns 3 cars he bought on his own and has his own car repair business.

They had curfew's had.To be in after school Activities.'s ,had to sit for dinner every night. They knew there are Consequences for any actions.They might do .Therefore, they always had the thought in the back of their minds,.Should I do this or not. One son married.
Two daughters, county job owns home. The other single owns home works in the banking, industry. RULES begin at home.
We teach our children to to become productive members of society that is our role as parents.

😂except ppl on it cant be outside in the sun for long periods of time. Dr missed that when he gave it to my husband and it took a couple weeks before they figured it out.
He was miserable and they never thought it was the medicine until he went to er and a separate dr question him about what he was taking and then asked what he did as a job, when he found out he was in the sun for 10 hours a day. It took a couple days for it to get out his system. And the new medicine helped alot. Bad thing about ppl who are bi polar 2 is the medicine helps but they always stop after a time because they feel normal. We split a year after he came off last time and he hung himself 9 months later.
The entire time he had a therapist and went and took his medicine everything was great but ....there always came that point where he felt he didn't need it

So often they mistake the judge for a psychiatrist.
The judge is the only person of high social status that many convicts will ever meet. And maybe the doctor.
I'm not a terribly sympathetic person and I'm cynical to a massive degree, but I honestly think that woman could be turned around with a good blunt speaking therapist that would sit her down and make her make a list of each and every one of her issues and tell her flat out what she needs to do about each of them to settle them once and for all and that she is an adult and needs to pull her shizz together.
Her kid is 16, not 6. At 16, the daughter should be able to get a driver's license and make her own doctor's appointments, cook her own dinners, and not even bother with these two messy parents. If she is genuinely going away to college in probably what is less than 2 yrs from now, it will do her a world of good to start caring for herself and start becoming independent of both of them.

I’m in the tech world and often encounter people that speak English conversationally, but struggle with technical terminology and need to use their native language. I suspect this can happen in the legal world, although I’m not sure if it happening here (I doubt it, I think she’s just a bit dumb, but I could be wrong).
