John Carpenter's THE THING - Music by John Carpenter & Alan Howarth

Ennio Morricone originally did the score for John Carpenter's THE THING but at some point Carpenter decided that he wanted to record some music as well (which he did along with collaborator Alan Howarth). The official soundtrack release ONLY has the Morricone music.
Now in 2011 a company has released a new CD which includes the Morricone music and the Carpenter/Howarth music. The CD is a re-recording but it has been done by Alan Howarth so the stuff Carpenter and Howarth did in the movie sounds pretty much identical here. That is the real "treat" of this release.
This video has three tracks from the CD. All music that was unheard on the original CD release. The tracks (in order on this video) are:
1.) Main Title
2.) Main Theme - Desolation
3.) Main Theme - End Credits
