Lugosi owns the role. In an age without contact lenses, plastic fangs, Technicolor or even a music score Lugosi using nothing but pure acting transformed vampires in pop culture. Prior to his performance vampires were hideous monsters aka Nosferatu. Lugosi introduced sex appeal and the combination of sex and death was a run away hit and vampires have scarcely been portrayed any other way since. Lugosi in a single performance stamped his image on Dracula forever. Ask any 12 year old kid today to draw a picture of Dracula and you will see a drawing of a tall, clean shaven man with a widow's peak, and flowing black cape. None of that is from the book. In the book Dracula is an old man with a white mustache, hairy palms and bad breath. As you can see Lee's version was a modernized version of Lugosi's look. The same can be said for Carridine, save he did include the mustache, and later versions with Langella, Palance and many others. Lugosi's performance is head and shoulders above the rest. He acted with his entire body like a mime. His fingers walked like a tarantula. Lugosi's Dracula was more ghost like than the rest. Lee's Dracula, is also quite frightening but his was a more physical Dracula with snarling and hissing and came across more like a werewolf than a vampire at times. He is still the second best Dracula ever done though. Unlike Universal, Hammer knew they had a good thing and made as many sequels as they could with him. Lugosi was cheated out of that. Universal did 3 Karloff Frankenstein films and only one Lugosi Dracula unless you count the spoof A&C Meet Frankenstein, but even in that Lugosi stole the film. Oh there were sequels, Dracula's Daughter even brought back Edward Van Sloan as Van Helsing. Did Universal really think that people flocked to see Dracula to see Edward Van Sloan? Then came Son of Dracula and they passed up Lugosi for Chaney Jr. Then came House of Frankenstein and H.O. Dracula and again they passed up Lugosi for Carridine who gave a flat quite boring performance as Dracula. One can only imagine how much better those films would have been with Lugosi, but they cheated his fans out of seeing him. Were it not for the insistence of Abbott and Costello who wanted Lugosi, Universal was ready to cast Carridine in that as well. We did get two other Lugosi vampire films Mark of the Vampire and later Return of the Vampire thankfully, but in Mark he has no lines save for the very end, but still made the film. In Return he was much older and therefor not quite as scary as in his youth but gave a masterful performance anyway.Just my 2 cents

Bela Lugosi, who had starred in the Broadway stage play of Dracula, played the Count only twice - in the 1931 Tod Browning movie and in 1948 Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein. Universal followed with other people as vampires - Daughter of Dracula (a waxwork bust of Lugosi is burned), Son of (with Lon Chaney Jr.), and then bringing back the Count without explanation (John Carradine, who had played the Court in the touring company of the stage play) for House of Frankenstein and House of Dracula.
Waiting for the British copyright on the novel to expire, Hammer reintroduced Christopher Lee in the Horror of Dracula (1958 - with Peter Cushing as a veddy British Dr. Van Helsing), and then created a series in which each film sort of re-enacted the closing of the previous flick and then found a way to revive Lee - usually with Cushing, evidently a promotion in rank in Dracula - Prince of Darkness (1966 - without Cushing, but Cushing was in 1960 Brides of Dracula without Lee), Dracula Has Risen From the Grave, Drink the Blood of Dracula, Scars of Dracula, Satanic Rites of Dracula, Dracula 1972. Finally a French-made satire, Dracular & Son. Lee even redid the original Dracula is an awful German production.

Possibly the worst choice in music - sorry.
Its Draculy, theres not one Horro Flick on this Planet where Techno, Pop or Rap whould be a good choice for music in a tribute video.
