A true mixed battle could work. Just put a capture point or two in the water so the ships have something more to do than bombard tanks. Make coastal capture zones that have naval guns to combat ships while still having some inland out of range of naval vessels. Aircraft remain unchanged and just hit what they can if they manage to get past the ship gunner ai and SPAAs
I remember playing an old PC game back in the early 2000s called Aces High where ground, naval, and air were all on the same map together and could interact with each other. The maps were massive though. It took me over an hour to fly from one end to the other in a B-17, and I had to shut off two engines to conserve enough fuel to make the trip. I think something like that would be amazing for a world war mode in War Thunder rather than the current format, but I imagine it would also need some massive server support.
A good map would probably be the Denmark straight. You could even do an alternate history of the battle of dunkirk where one team is trying to defend the beaches and attack back into France and the other is trying to push them back out to sea.
Yeah but imagine the frustration of completely destroying the enemy team in land but your ships are incompetent and result in losing the match because they never bothered to cap points.

Naval and tanks could be like a beach landing scenario. Ships need to defend themselves while trying to destroy shore artillery or bases, tanks operate as normal.
When i first heard about the "world war" event on war thunder this is what i imagined. Once naval starts getting into 8.0+ we could start seeing helicopters... So this just seems like natural progression imo.

That Junkers crew probably THOUGHT they got hit right before the engine caught fire, i can see a mechanical failure happening causing a jolt of vibration that might seem similar to cannon fire, also Gibson was probably sleep deprived and didn’t see the other AC or it’s tracers
I honestly believe it was some mechanical faliure, the germans did say they got a little damage in the previous engagement, that was probably enough to have things and screws losen up, then 20 minutes of vibration chucks them off completely.
I know its maybe not realistic, but maybe it could be an option for Naval AB, that vessels have an anchor skill. So a ship can drop an anchor and can stop then way faster. Like sometimes it takes sooo long, until you can reverse the direction, especially when you want to capture point or wanna dodge Torpedos this is a thing. I know that in real life it wouldnt work like this, but I guess it would be a fun addition like as a 1 time usage skill

@@dezydereusz No, because that's just HE and I paid for better HE, and a bunch of shitty systems in an honestly worsening mediocre game. Since War Thunder goes the more realistic route, there's many more options. Two basic examples using different ammo types being the ability to fire smoke rounds to cover allies advances, and STAR shells on night maps to illuminate the area. That's just the bare basics though. I could go on, but we'd be here all week.

But as said, at this point the match would be one sided, there are many flaws with what i said, but in my head it looks possible

There is not, but I could totaly see that as a modification, like some panzers has the wider track variant, or some tanks have additional armour.
