too bad the game can be finicky on newer generations of windows. i might be decent at the game if i didn't need that framerate patch cause then i could see my hit box.
I don't think it would work very well for a rival battle theme in pokemon, since the intro is so slow, but I'd love to hear this as BGM in some kind of a cutscene, just not for pokemon. When I hear this song, I imagine the introduction to be played when the hero discovers that one of his best friends has been attacked or something, and the more fast-paced parts later are when he's battling the attacker.

I love how S.S.H used those "Go!" voice samples at the start of almost every section. Definitely one of his best arrangements.
