You are right that the flames have done a good job of disenfranchising their talent so that they can be justified in trading them for draft picks. if those draft picks are the next McDavid, then they will look like geniuses. But history is often an indicator of the future, and I don’t think you’re drafting the next McDavid even if he’s sitting in front of your management with a spotlight on him and a number one pick. Ya big Z and Lind moved on from Vancouver. Personally, I would’ve liked to have kept big Z, but at the end of the day, neither of them were such a great talent, that they were worth the money they were asking. I believe the Canucks upgraded for less money. Calgary?? Still sitting in the basement playing with draft picks like they are action figures. Look good to have, but really make no difference in the here and now. As a good friend of mine often says I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
i don't hate any teams. i dislike toronto because their fans and media talk like they are the only team on earth. the closest to hate is for mike keenan and how he treated our players. when gino invited him out in the parking lot,he traded gino. he traded linden because he wouldn't fight and the players, liked and followed his lead. skeletons in our own closet.

I didn't hate Johnny Gaudreau. He was a very good player.
