American sitcom (situation comedy) originally broadcast for nine seasons on CBS from 1962 to 1971. The series is about a poor backwoods family transplanted to Beverly Hills, California, after striking oil on their land. This video is the 1st (first) episode.
A rural Ozark family relocates to Beverly Hills after oil is discovered on their property worth $25 million. After finding oil on the land, the family is surprised when Mr. Brewster of the OK Oil Company offers to buy it. (The family home is set in the Branson, Missouri area.) After much coaxing by Cousin Pearl, Jed sells the swamp and moves the family to a mansion in Beverly Hills. Upon their arrival, they are arrested because of a case of mistaken identity but are later returned to the mansion safely.
Turner Classic Movies host, Robert Osborne appeared in the pilot episode, as Jeffrey Taylor.
The show starred:
Buddy Ebsen as Jed Clampett
Irene Ryan as Daisy May "Granny" Moses
Donna Douglas as Elly May Clampett
Max Baer Jr. as Jethro Bodine

Nancy Kulp as Jane Hathaway

Good old days of watching Gilligans Island and Beverly Hillbillies best moments of my childhood and. Teens altogether
Mine, too. It's great to be able to see them again.
There isn’t a show that even comes close to touching this timeless classic, being in my 60’s watching this show and letting my mind wander back to the days of the late 60’s early 70’s and growing up with this show always being on when I got home from school
Most people don't that Jim Backus / Mr. Howell is the voice of Mr. Magoo cartoon character 😜
It's true.
❤ A LOT MORE PEOPLE KNOW THAT THEN YOU MIGHT REALIZE
Most people don't know Mr. MAGOO😂
@@Whilewearestillhere❤❤❤ I DO❤
I thort as much, it was.😊
Jim Backus as guest character - wonderful ...
IT IS KIND OF INTERESTING TO SEE MR THURSTON HOWELL THE THIRD BEING ANOTHER RICH PERSON ON THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES
Jim Backus.
He was the hottest star on TV for a while, also the voice of the befuddled, blind, lucky klutz Mr. Magoo, too.
@@carlsaganlives6086 Yes he was.
Lll.⁸⁸89i⁹⁹8⁹8😅😅@@carlsaganlives60862:20 😅
❤ HE WAS ALSO MR MAGOO❤❤❤@@lilajagears8317
😂🎉
i ❤ the Clampetts
I😢
Only way to travel 😂
I 😘 ve them especially granny.still watch them today on prime 😂
A#1 episode 3, Kathleen Freeman was great, Granny was brilliantly nieve tell the Judge He Showed up twice in his nightgown!!!
The judge is Norman P Curtis!
Yummy grits my favorite meal.
Mr Thurston frm Gilligans Island. Still a rich man😀👍
Mr. Thurston Howell the third 😊
Did Irene get an Oscar? Nope, but barry got a nobel.
They give that to anyone nowadays...
Jed hauled that heavy grinding stone all the way from W Virginny in that old truck?
1921 Oldsmobile cut down to be a truck.
Praise The Lord!
Why is Jane Hathaway always the one stuck doing all the driving.
❤ I HAVE SEEN MR DRYSDALE DRIVE A FEW TIMES❤
I think that people should just go & buy the DVD set, & it could be worth a fortune, cause it’s not like the good old days when we were kids growing up in the early days & the 70S .
This show was supposedly based on a real family. But the real family went broke
That's a big pity
A REAL family would not be THAT dumb (they were good, but they were over the top DUMB on alot of these episodes (NO human being is THAT dumb)
I wonder what the car is worth today, & if it’s still in good shape, what about the costumes are worth today.😊❤
I was always suspicious of Mr. Howell. Seems he could get the castaways off the island anytime he wanted. How could a millionaire and his wife not be found otherwise?? Thurston Howell III my foot.
Maybe because his banker never wanted him found.
This isn't the first episode.
nobody said it was
@@KristaBrewer-rq7mo Somebody has changed the info, or I wouldn't have typed the comment, as I was expecting the Pilot. It's all good. The big thing is to enjoy this classic slice of Americana. Glad they posted these!
Ya know the stupid part in this episode? In the first few minutes, Jed tells Elly to deliberately be spiteful to Granny to cheer her up. He doesn't want Granny to KNOW their doing it deliberately, but yet when he comes in the Kitchen; he, Jethro and Elly stand directly behind her chair, and Jed's like, "This is worse than I thought. We gotta try harder."
As if Granny couldn't HEAR HIM!!
