I have no idea. It has a metal "Chicago" style heel plate but could have bee made anywhere, probably around 1890. It's highly unusual to find a banjo from this period with celluloid fingerboard & MoP inlays like that. It has a hollow steel tube for a dowel. A collector recently identified the tail piece for me, but I forgot the name he gave! Anybody know?
I gotta ask, what kind of hat is that? been looking for one. Great video, just recently got a Deering Goodtime open back and enjoying it so far. Thanks for all the great videos
What make of banjo is that?

That's a fedora. This was the only type of hat my grandpa ever wore.
👌
The melody sounds very close to Barbara Allen, do you think the two are related any?
Might could be like how Texas rangers was turned into german war, they kept the same melody but with changed words
Yes, sir. I think you're probably right.
🙌🙌🙌🔥
Is that 13" pot? Looks larger than a 12".
It's just 12". The neck and peghead are beefier than usual which is probably throwing your eye.
@@CliftonHicksbanjo Oh right. That'll be it.
