I'm only 14 and while I've written articles and stories for my school's newspaper, I've always wanted to write more and make a book. Your videos have given me that inspiration and I thank you so much for that, please keep up the good work!
You are on the right track. You need to "learn your craft, before taking on a novel". Next, try getting your short stories in publications other than the school newspaper. You are way ahead of almost everybody else your own age. Congrats.
Just keep up the momentum and you’ll progress in no time. I used to write for my school too, but sadly didn’t continue. Don’t make the same mistake as I did.

This approach to writing is wildly different from mine (I write 50 000 word brainstorm documents before starting a draft), but it was very inspiring for some reason I can't explain and I figured out my character's arc from watching it so thank you.

Note that the template is not actually usable. You're still forced to remake it, laboriously, by hand. It shouldn't have been made a public document, but rather, just a regular document put out with the permissions set to "anyone with the link can view" and then that would allow people to make a fresh copy to their own drive. The version as-is... I'm not even sure how to do/make/fix. In Notion, sure, but in GDocs... I dunno.
Your videos have single-handedly been keeping my motivation to write alive lately. I love watching one before I start my writing for the day, they're always super helpful and the sense of community on your channel makes me feel less alone in my writing struggles. I use a similar template but for the whole manuscript, where I draft, character build, worldbuild, outline and write everything in one giant doc with all the proper formatting. And Google doc tables are so incredibly useful. The 0 draft project template i made is very detailed lol 49 pages and it still needs to be filled in 💀.

basically just click on the plus sign at the top of ur screen when on a open doc, and it will show that u can add a table, add a table w the amount of rows u want so for the first one you'd want 2 collums and 6 rows and just keep on making tables to so the rest :)
Any advice on how to write a character with cancer, they get cancer later and die. They don’t have cancer from the beginning . But I want to be realistic.

I challenge you to write to super Mario music. hear me out, I understand this might be weird but people on the internet said when listening to this music they wrote/did their work faster. I tried it myself... and they’re right… I listened to this music while brainstorming for an idea i had, and within 9 mins i had 10 ideas ... I expected like 4 total ideas by the end I was done but nope 10 in 9 mins!!!!!! hope you film this process because it would be hilarious seeing your reaction. p.s this doesn't work for everybody so don't feel bad if your speed doesn't increase.

How do you open the template????
One thing i really struggle with is characters. Whenever i think about personality quirks strengths and weaknesses my mind goes blank, and when i do think of something im afraid it won't be realistic or will be boring🤦♀️
its never boring! each character is individual and unique. i think ur characters will reveal themselves to u as u write!! have faith xx
this is such a good template, thank you for sharing this for free!!! I am currently planning my first novel (I started it too early and i need to plan more, lol) and i am not sure about my characters so this will help a whole lot.
also, not related to your vid. I challenge you to write to super Mario music. hear me out, I understand this might be weird but people on the internet said when listening to this music they wrote/did their work faster. I tried it myself... and they’re right… I listened to this music while brainstorming for an idea i had, and within 9 mins i had 10 ideas ... I expected like 4 total ideas by the end I was done but nope 10 in 9 mins!!!!!!

p.s this doesn't work for everybody so don't feel bad if your speed doesn't increase.
