Try changing the destination where you are recording to. For example, try changing the destination to your desktop and see what happens.

Im having a problem. Every time i record it records but when i look at the video file the video is like frozen ive tried a lot of things but it keeps freezing.

Ok so I need some major help. Every time I try to full screen the game I'm playing (i'll use Minecraft as an example) it records like the top left corner of it. So the only way I personally can fix it is if I don't maximize my game screen. Please help me with this problem and I hope someone comments soon!

I can't re-size the window properly. It just makes it so whenever I try to increase height or lenght, the whole thing starts getting larger and can't be adjusted to fit into the window the way it should leaving black area around the window. Help?

Try download RelTek Stereo Mix. I heard it records your computers audio.
Look it up on youtube and you might get a good result.

I had the same problem.. seems there are actually two OBS softwares.. make sure you have not installet the TRASH called Streamlabs OBS

I think you need a stronger pc or laptop i have the same problem
Actual 101 no i dont think so i have Nvidia GTG 1080TI and really good precessor i dont remember what processor and my vids are super laggy too btw i built my pc for 3.5k euros
i believe obs is only good for streaming not screen recording so u get the free version of fraps or i spring free cam or ice cream free cam or xsplit broadcaster or monosnap it depends really on what u use monosnap is pretty good if ur selecting a certain area on screen the i recommend fraps now all i need to figure out is a

i got hitfilm express but its not that good tho ,i want something like a movie maker cause all i need is to get mp4 format and cut ,speed up video,text and some other simple tools with a quick render time with no watermark
its better to get a simpler screen recorder cause it will be less of a lag when u record gameplay fraps and monosnap is pretty good for that

Ashydoodles make sure the fps of your game is the same as your game capture fps

Oh! I found out. kinda? Go to Your Mixer go to the thing next to the mute and unmute button and go to Advance Audio Properties and mess around with the Tracks I did that it works but it was kinda muffeld.

I don't know what it is but obs just seems to be a laggy output. I higher my bitrate, lowered it, put the CPU usage preset to fast, rate control to cbr, everything. and yet obs comes out with recordings up to 30 fps even tho I'm playing in 60+fps. It isn't my computer because this happened on my old pc. I have a Ryzen 5 2600 and 1060 6gb with 16gb at 3200mhz and yet I think it's just obs with a poor output.

I'm getting ready to go back to Minecraft after a long break, this is just what I was looking for. I wanted to be sure OBS could be used to record offline (not streaming) I figured it could... The recommended OBS settings you provided should be helpful. Thanks especially fort he tip about multiple audio tracks not being evident in the video file until placed into an editor, that may have saved me much grief.

I know this video was 2 years ago but i just got to say... THANK U SO MUCH!!! I have been having problems with bandicam for soooooooooooooooo long! THIS IS AMAZING. Yeah setting it up was kind of tricky but since i got that out of the way recording is so easy! I would totally recommend this ***** (that was meant to be 5 stars).
I used the 1920 x 1080 resolution and when I fullscreen minecraft, there will be like a black space on the bottom. So I changed it to 1080 x 720 resolution, it's still the same. And when I right click my desktop it said that it's 1920 x 1080. Can someone help?

When I select MP4 for the output, and edit in Sony Vegas, I have no sound. No track or sound. FLV doesn't seem to record at all. I'm in Game Capture mode.

I made a video and it is about 27 minutes long and it takes up about 10.7gb of space. However after editing out 2 minutes and saving it it now only takes up 7gb of space. I recorded 1080p30fps 55000 CBR. I do want to upload it to UA-cam but I’m not sure if I should try and decompress the size down on my computer I decompressed it to around 3.09gb but comparing it to my original non compressed it looks so much different it looks more like 720p stretched to a 1080p res screen. Are these file sizes normal?

Hi, do you know how can I record my mic + my PC audio + my friends through voice chat? All separately. I either get the computer sounds all mixed together (including Voice Chat) or just the computer audio, and the voice chat muted.
I've been messing around with settings, I record in 1920x108 and all that have everything set, but when I got to watch the video or upload it do youtube, the video quality is like 480, not even 720 or 1080. I don't know how to make the quality of the video any better, could you by chance help me a little bit?
Had an issue with mine. Followed each step to the last detail (While having my own game up for testing) and it's showing TWO audio bars for Desktop Audio instead of one, and then below a third for my Microphone. Both Desktop and Microphone audios work beforehand (can hear the sidetone for my voice), but after starting and stopping a recording, my voice doesn't pickup during playback. Note that my Mic audio and my Desktop audio are ran from the same headset, so I have my Desktop audio as my headset as well as the Mic audio. Could this be the problem? I don't want to dig in and change things around without knowing what I'm doing! Thanks in advance.

PLEASE HELP! So I think I did everything correctly. I have triple checked that I selected tracks 1 and 2 in audio settings. and that I have mic set to track 1 and output set to track 2 in advance audio settings. When I see transfer it to Vegas Pro 16.0, it shows three rows like yours--one for video and two for audio. But the audios are grouped together as one row with two sub-rows, so there's only one volume control panel to the left that controls the volume of both audios. Any ideas on what to do?

Very good, very informative, and very useful video! However, you sound like you're practicing to become an auctioneer!! I'm sure its unconscious, but it does make it hard to understand what you are saying at times. You should make an effort to slow your speech just a little. Otherwise, a very good presentation!

My OBS screen works and it records but every few seconds, the screen glitches with these small green and blue squares that fills most of the screen. It keeps happening and I don't know how to stop it. It also won't let me update because it says outputs are currently active, but I don't have any outputs open. Pls help!
