1. Jesus talked about how the kingdom of God had come near, and he invited people to repent. Has the word “repent” held a positive or negative connotation for you? What do you think it really means to repent?
2. We sing songs like “Our God Reigns” or “King of my Heart”, but how do we truly surrender/submit to Him as the ruler of our world? What does it mean to surrender?
3. Why is it so difficult for us to surrender control of our everyday lives? Do you believe that it is an issue of trust?
4. When it comes to us trusting God, the secret is found in our perception of who God is, and what God is like (his character). How did Jesus instruct us to address God? (Matt 6:9-10) What is your experience with addressing God as Father?
